Very concerned about Hebrews 10:26 (New Member)

Context of Hebrews 10 is ANIMAL sacrifice.. so therefore.. where there is forgiveness of sins. .. there is no more animal sacrifice to do to please God. It the other way to look at it.. where there is forgiveness of sins ... the price is paid! Cant put Jesus back on the cross to sacrifice again!

    The main issues .

I'm in agreement with you on how salvation is not lordship salvation and also that salvation is eternally secure. That I stand with you on.. but I have to say that eternal salvation was the same OT and NT. The difference was the method of service.. not the way of being saved. OT saints looked...

Which denomination should I become part of?

There are American Baptist churches that Many ABA churches are like this There are non calvinist baptists that hold to not being able to lose eternal salvation. I'm one of them! Alot of these kind are in the ABA and BMA associations. Independent missionary baptists. But yeah.. dont want to...

Which denomination should I become part of?

From the Baptist stand point there are some distinctives: Autonomy of the local church Individual liberty of the believer Baptism only for those converted Lords supper and tithing as central tenants for the local church I would also contend for the Gods word being inspired, infallible and...

Holy Spirit baptism and eternal salvation

Yes.. this is where I would reply they were born again .. did receive the Holy Spirit for salvation eternally, but they had not been empowered by the Holy Spirit. I think I see the Holy Spirit baptism as empowerment after eternal salvation.

Holy Spirit baptism and eternal salvation

I have been seeing a lot of posts about baptism with the Holy Spirit and I dont see where it is connected to being eternally saved in scripture. The disciples were told by Jesus He would baptise them with the Holy Spirit but they would have been saved eternally before the occurence in Acts. 1...

Cessationism vs. continuationism...does it make any difference?

I accept cessationism 1 - the completed canon fits with the context of Gods revelation in 1 co 13. Also in Ephesians 4. 2 the death of the apostles also completed the work of the Holy Spirit through sign and ministry gifts 3 the objective experience of signs wonders and miracles now is...

    The 10 commandments

It is the beauty of Christ's grace that with our thoughts regardless of action we still break the 10 commands yet He still abides with the believer. How do we even follow His commands? By reliance on Him and not our own steam

Our responses to claims of Holy Spirit Bapitisms.

There is an issue with putting baptism with the Holy Spirit as receiving eternal life. This is mentioned by Jesus and is in Acts among other places. What about believers in the OT looking to Christs coming? There wasn't Holy Spirit baptism then, so you'd have to say people were converted...

Paul baptized by immersion in reference to the church he joined.. so with the members at the church at Corinth.

    Assurance of salvation

Yeah the early churches were independent organizations that had baptism by immersion for only saved people. RCC practices like the others have posted came much later, with the elevation of Mary, infant baptism, saint worship and having one bishop over many churches among other issues...

    Out Of Many, One

It's true that when one is converted they are part of the entity of every believer and part of the Kingdom of God. Now is the body of Christ every believer? The body of Christ IS the church.. The church is either of a particular locality eg.. at Ephesus..at Phillipi.. at Corith etc.. Or...

Why do Calvinists believe things the bible doesnt say ?

Ya um.. revelation 3:20.. the context isn't about receiving eternal life. It's about churches. I used to see this is the 4 Spiritual Laws booklet from campus Crusade. The verse standing alone could be about receiving Christ as Saviour but the verses around it are about something different

Why do Calvinists believe things the bible doesnt say ?

Yeah I get the idea of total depravity.. i get the idea that it is God who does the converting and people cant attain salvation by their own doing.. I get the idea that God knows everything we do before we do it.. But.. Does total depravity mean humans cant call out to God in faith for...

    Thoeries which bit the dust

In the past there were theories put forward regarding Jesus and His resurrection . The earliest theory is the disciples stole Jesus' body.. recorded in the bible itself about the Jewish authorities claiming this. Problem with this is the disciples were scattered and scared. Not together to...

The goal for the body of Christ .

I compare this with 1 Corinthians and see it as the knowledge of the unity of the faith .. measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.. no longer tossed by every wind of doctrine..having come in the past through the completed canon. So there are now still evangelists.. teachers .. but...

God's FREE Gift of {temporary?} ETERNAL Life!

Again it's the case of 'the faith's and 'saving faith' James chapter 2 is the likes of mainly the faith. Sanctification. Then scriptures like John 3:16 are saving faith.. justification. Failing in 'the faith'doesnt undo saving faith. Like a child born into a family.. they dont lose family...

    Faith without works issue .

There is also 'the faith' and saving faith. The faith.. is following the Word of God through the New Testament system of faith Saving faith is the initial salvation in Jesus saving someone and giving eternal life. So when I see faith without works is dead.. I see the 'system of faith' rather...
