Are we still suppose to keep all Ten Commandments?

The 10 commandments underpin service to Jesus in all we do. They haven't been done away with. When someone joins a church to serve in one.. the 10 commandments are the base of all the acts of service. Look at things like looking after widows.. discipling others .. sharing the faith.. I am sure...

Acts 2.. the Holy Spirit coming upon the disciples Mathew 18.. the Holy Spirit being in the midst of 2 or 3 believers resolving sin issues OT ... the Holy Spirit empowering the position of the king over Israel Although the OT case.. they were not necessarily believers, but the position...

Peter before he received the Holy Ghost...or Peter after he received the Holy Ghost

Well, what about if it was put this way- One time event of indwelling for receiving eternal life.. Then the Holy Spirit empowered believers in churches in another role.. eg. 'in the midst' 'upon' The empowerment not necessary as part of eternal life but part of the Holy Spirit blessing a...

Peter before he received the Holy Ghost...or Peter after he received the Holy Ghost

There is also the difference between being given eternal life having been indwelt by the Holy Spirit and being empowered after salvation. Eg.. the Holy Spirit coming 'upon' is different to initial salvation. Like in Acts 2, the cloven tongues and the Holy Spirit coming upon the disciples. I...

    Theology

Yeah, most often a person converted is not due to reasoning out an intellectual obstacle but a shift in their heart from conviction by God. They may have had a wall or two broken down by intellectual study but the step of faith in Jesus is the actual point.

Is it OK to question church doctrine?

There are churches that stuck tenaciously to the Word that didn't get involved with Catholism and didn't need to reform. Among the ana baptists and other church groups there is a seperate history from catholism and the reformation churches eg Calvin, Methodist, Luther etc.. .

Why have the Sign Gifts Ended

The glass is a mirror. The bible is like a mirror to ourselves and allows us to fully know God and ourselves. Hence 'face to face' In part.. progressing revelation of God's word at the time.. thru gifts of tongues, prophecy and knowledge.. The Word completed ..the tools were put away to reveal...

Why have the Sign Gifts Ended

I agree with them ceasing but am unsure how it is only Israel that the sign gifts applied to.. since Jesus and His disciples were the first NT church and the disciples had these sign gifts. I see the sign gifts ceasing with completion of the canon and death of the apostles.

    Back-loading Works into the Gospel:

Context for that verse? I think you'll find its deliverance from trials and tribulations rather than about eternal salvation

    Back-loading Works into the Gospel:

Amen, eternal salvation is initial belief in Jesus as God who saved us from our sins. We cant clean up our lives before eternal salvation to get it. When we do get given eternal life, it's not that we WILL do good works after. There will be fruit from being given eternal life, but that is...

When did the church begin ?

Well, Jesus spoke in Matthew 28 about the way to resolve disputes with a sinning brother in the local church. This was before acts. It is a New Testament practice of discipline within a church that is a similar process to deuteronomy, with two or three gathered together to sort out a dispute...

Can we be forgiven for sins we won't repent of?

Well there is the initial giving of eternal life. With John 3:16 , and the likes of Romans 10. In being given eternal life the person changes their heart and mind under conviction from the Holy Spirit and receives eternal life. That's repentance at salvation. After this.. their eternal...

Is The word Of God The Only Road To life

Yes.. if the bible has scripture that tells us how to live completely and joyfully in Christ.. Then what good is living outside that? I mean of course we do fail at it but.. that is the guide, complete and flawless

    IS SIN A CHOICE?

We can flee from sin to an extent ... choose to pursue Jesus in the face of an option not to but we have two natures and can never be completely sinless. Believers have the Holy Spirit indwelling their soul. That part never sins, our flesh though is carnal and is never completely pure.

    Why do Jesus alllow this?

There is always the opposite question to of why do good things happen to bad people :) But yeah.. it is a corrupt world. Jesus does though in the end restore it all to glory. Suffering and pain and evil is horrific to be part of and see. The experience of it is at a level where people lose...
