@ThereRoseaLamb thank you for those jokes.

Here's another from my people: how many Eastern Orthodox does it take to change a lightbulb? Zero. They all went to the monastery.

I need you in the food game. Still plenty of food to choose from. BTW how do y'all feel about fried apples? Makes your house smell amazing!

I'm a little slow with this game so i apologize.
What are the game rules, you want me to remove one item from your picture in the first post? :)
I'm afraid i'm not going to be very fun with this game because i don't understand the rules and then i might geek out with some technicality ... but i did enjoy your jokes. lol

No rules really, just a place to have a laugh. You're suppose to eliminate one but I think @Lynx made clear he was taking all the pies. Not sure his opinion on chocolates yet. I remember back home when you went to someone's house during Christmas you better bring the "Pot of Gold". I looked to buy some last year and it's dang near cheaper to actually buy the pot of gold! Wow! I make my own peanut butter balls every year.

Hi Rose,

If I could make a suggestion...

I've found that when I've tried to write continuous game-type threads like this, then try to add in a new "play" -- it's sometimes necessary to just write a new thread for each play. I know it can be kind of a pain, but it seems like people who've already played will often skip by, thinking it's an "old" thread that they've already answered.

But if each idea is presented separately, it seems to have a bigger chance of catching the eye of both new and former posters to your initial question.

Please disregard this if you don't feel it will work for you -- I just hate to see all your awesome ideas and hard work get passed by! ❤️

P.S. We love having you stop by Singles -- thanks so much for returning the favor and including us in this thread! :)

B: We're keeping B. It's delicious and it adds veggies to what is otherwise a sugar and grease fest.
Are you suggesting there's something inherently wrong with a sugar and grease fest? What then is a doughnut? Or perhaps you eat your doughnuts with vegetable filling? ;)

Ok I don't even know my answer for this one. This is a hard one. Since desserts are so important during the holidays let's stay with that theme. Eliminate One View attachment 282034
When I started cutting sugar, I knew pecan (puhcahn, not pee can!) pie was a goner. However, I recently came across a recipe for pecan pie that predates the invention of corn syrup (it has a custard base instead), so there is hope. If anyone's interested, it's in the Tasting History cookbook... I have yet to acquire a copy.

No. I said I'm keeping all the rest of it too.

But that's the one part we can claim is healthy, so we gotta keep it in there.

H*rsh*y pot of gold is... Well I won't say what it is. Someone here might like that stuff.

But it ain't real chocolate.

Ok the BDF and News Forums are making my brain bleed. I want invite our groovy singles to this post, we all know they are the coolest here at CC. ;) With Thanksgiving round the corner, here we go!!

Eliminate One, and tell us why you did. This one is an easy one for me, green bean casserole. Maybe I just haven't had someone good at making it but that's my choice.

Bye, B. C is little better. My dad was an excellent working chef. He made chocolate pumpkin pie - once. It was disgusting. Even he would not eat it.

Eliminate part of the main meal and you still have options,
Eliminate desserts, and while sad, not the end of the world...
Now she wants to eliminate chocolates!

ohhh! If/when you get the recipe please do share!
I have a wonderful recipe for puhcahn pie, no corn syrup but still a lot of maple syrup and sugary things
I've got to find one (this year maybe) that is 'healthier' as in low to no sugars ( is that even possible!?) since my household has been requesting it but we have to keep watchful eye on sugar intake.
*sigh*

My uncle worked for them. They took over a Canadian company called Moyers. So we were kinda obligated to buy the Pot. He gave a lot of years to that company, he was in quality control. When my aunt took cancer and he needed time off the company gave him hell for it. Then pushed him out after she passed. Never cared for the company since.

Is this it? It's from tasting history with Max Miller (tastinghistory.com)

Looks and sounds good! Certainly going on my "consider trying this recipe this year" list, let's see if it actually gets tried  (very tempting)
