it has to do the with the letter C.

X is for Chi, which is the letter C in greek.

C for Christ.

i hope someone with better knowledge of this explains lol.

People who claim Christ as Lord and Savior,if they do celebrate Dec. 25,as Christ's birthday, and have a Christmas tree, and with all the trimmings, are not trying to identify with paganism, but if there are things associated with paganism,it would seem that we should not do them, for why have a duel meaning for their paganism, like the have a duel meaning for Dec. 25,to please the pagans, and the Christians,on the same day.

And really, can we get thru bashing Halloween before we move on to Xmas?

I do apologize if that sounds harsh, but the idea of maturity in these things comes from the Bible... Hebrews 5: 14But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. That's not my word but God's. Shall I refrain from using God's words because some will find it offensive?
Hebrews 5 is gods word and I didn't comment on that . I commented on YOUR words

Just because some things occur on the same day doesn't invalidate the word of God. It is now believed that if someone now makes the ok symbol with their hand it means that they are showing the sign of the devil because it is being taught that the three fingers each stand for a six. What? It only reminds me of Buckwheat when he used to say o'tay. We must grow stronger in the word because the Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. God created it that way. I'm just saying that the darkness would try to claim everything is unclean for us Christians it seems to me and we must learn to realize what the truth is and what is gain saying and reject the latter. As far as Christmas is concerned I celebrate the birth of Christ every day.

I guess its a matter of choice isn't it? for many who observe this day they see nothing wrong with it, does that mean there isn't?
And in all fairness those who have decided not to and see a problem with it does that mean there is?
It would be better I think to ask this, if we are to be a peculiar people set apart for good works, and we want to get close as possible to our Creator, (and yes I'm aware our Savior made that way for us) then why not do things His way? if we are not supposed to in any way do things connected with paganism, and please understand there is a difference between doing things they do like walking on the left side of the street and such, but if we involve ourselves in things that historical data absolutely confirms the origin of what is observed as pagan, we have to ask ourselves why is this so popular and accepted among believers ?
for me it was not an easy thing to no longer be involved in it, after all even nonbelievers observe this day. for me the choice was simple, the fact is the Saviors birth was not on or even near this day, (biblical scholars a lot smarter then me have confirmed this) so I ask myself if that be the case why would I observe it? 1) no place in all the biblical text does it say to observe our Saviors birthday, he certainly never said to do so either, 2) just quick study into the winter solstice and what occurred on that day in pagan beliefs will reveal its true origin.
Many wish to continue observing that day and that's between them and the father not my concern, I only wish to explain why I do not, as I see it the creator of all things choose days to observe, yet these days are forgotten or ignored, and just because I choose to observe the days He instituted doesn't mean I'm trying to earn my salvation or improve my standing before Him, but rather I wish to honor Him in obedience , because after all this is all I have to offer, ("if you love me , keep my commandments) so if others choose to observe this day as the birth of our Savior that's certainly their choice, but as for me ive chosen to do things differently. I have seen in my life many blessings in walking close to Him, and I only desire to get closer.

I celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior on December 25. I celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday. I celebrate my Lord and Savior on all the remaining days of the year. Praise God I will be able to celebrate eternity face to face with Him in the near future.

Thank you for sharing. Posts like yours is what keeps me coming back to CC, because it's encouraging to see people finding the truth, and then actually following it. Peace and blessings brother~
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

it has to do the with the letter C.

X is for Chi, which is the letter C in greek.

C for Christ.

i hope someone with better knowledge of this explains lol.

That's pretty much it. The "X" comes from the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter of the Greek word Χριστός, which in English is "Christ".

You've missed it again.

We're not observing a day with mandated practices, we're celebrating the Birth of Christ.

The problem I have with Christmas is not the day itself but the history connected to this day. The history is older than the birth of Christ and the person connected to this day was so corrupted and perverted that we should actually frown upon his actions. He was the saviour for his people and worshipped by his mother (who had sexual relations with him). After he died and early death, she planted a tree and left him present under the tree waiting for his return every year on his birthday.

This is well documented and for us as Christians we cannot seek God's blessing in a day like this just like Israel couldn't expect any blessings from God when they created a golden calf, named it YHWH and worshipped it at Mount Sinai.

Perhaps many here are too well-off to understand what Christmas can be to the poor. One year when I was about 6 or 7 I was taken to a church service for Christmas. A woman gave me an apple for Christmas because she loes Jesus Christ I believed. I was over-the-moon, a Christmas gift for me because of Jesus Christ's birth.

This helped form my direction to Jesus Chrsit. God bless all. j

In my opinion, friend, that is human emotion based off of a memory you have.
most of us could share similar stories.

not to diminish your story, but you can feed the poor on any day, and give testimony.
and we should. and not base it on a lie. in my opinion.

I'm sorry that my use of the same word God used upset you.
again your wrong, you are purposely attempting to shift focus off the the context of why I posted what I posted what I did in response to what you wrote, and in that statement you quoted no scripture at all, I was responding to your words NOT the scripture, as I said before but you want to ignore this an dplay the victim, a common tactic among those who refuse to take responsibility for their own words...

what I am aware of is how hard christmass can be to those who are poor, not being able to afford to get gifts for your children, not having gifts to show your friends , the pressure of going into debt to try your best to give the gifts you cant afford to, yes I understand.

I really haven't missed it... why observe a birthday that didn't even happen on that day? and one not even mandated in anyway in biblical text to do so?
