I'll probably get a lump of coal in my stocking. Again. :)

Keep squeezing that lump of coal and you will end up with a diamond! I believe you have received many diamonds in your life already like your wonderful Lord and your loving loyal wife....I know you know those things and celebrate it!....:)

Whats the old song?" Im just an old lump of coal, but Im gonna be a diamond someday."

If Christians celebrated Christs birth on March 25 Hallmark would be all over that. Commercializing is what the world does and we can partake in it or not. When I sit in church and hear "O Holy Night" sung, one of my favorite songs Im not thinking of anything but Jesus and how He came to earth. There is nothing wrong with celebrating Christmas,as you said. If someones conscience is bothered by it,they can abstain. When children put on a nativity play are they not learning about Jesus birth? For someone to say that is wrong,to me,is nonsense.

A couple years ago my husband and I saw a sign for a live nativity. So one chilly night we went to this church in the country. There was a little pathway lit beside the church and a small structure, like a small barn. We heard Christmas music and when we walked inside there were lambs, goats and a few ducks. Then the was a couple with a baby standing in front of a manger with young people dressed as wise men around them. I'll never forget it. It was hushed,no one was talking. It made that Holy night so real in that moment. I was so glad we went. Folks can celebrate,or not, how they wish on the 25th but I think thats something that should be kept private. No one is less a Christian or more for whatever they choose to do.

Agreed. I have to say that there is a special feeling on Christmas Eve. In fact, I've always liked the 24th in some ways more than the 25th. I've always really been touched as I take that time to reflect on Christ's birth. Last year I went to hear a local production of the Messiah by Handel. It was a few weeks before Christmas. I've gone many times but this performance was extra special. You could just sense the presence of God throughout the entire production. If you listen to the words ( Handel wrote it all by compiling Scripture) it is a celebration of the life of Christ. I think it's a wonderful thing that there is a tradition within Christianity to sing these carols and perform the Messiah during the Holiday season.

This Christmas will be a little hard for me. It will be my first without Tequila. I would open her stocking with her on Christmas morning, before I went to my parent's house. :'(

including me.

still doesn't make it right.
Again, Aaron made a golden calf and proclaimed a feast in honor of YHVH.
The results were ugly.

This song makes us want to fall on our knees before our Lord.

Well lol my first thought when I read it was you were missing your alcohol and you actually wrapped your tequila up and opened it to drink it. I was going to congrats you for giving up alcohol on Christmas lol. Guess it was more a misreading on my part so I thought it was funny.

Even if on Dec. 25th, people DO celebrate his birth? I mean really celebrate his birth, omitting the getting and giving presents, not decorating tree and ornaments.. Just acknowlege his birth and give thanks.

Difference here is I'm not worshiping anything I have decorated. I don't sit in front of my Christmas tree and pray or worship Jesus. It is just a tree
