haha. Well we actually don't open gifts the same way every year and that would be a tradition not a ritual
I'll probably get a lump of coal in my stocking. Again.

He is 7 and he will be dressed up as a Clown. Well not a nice clown kinda the scary movie type.
I've never seen anyone celebrating Saturnalia.
But I've seen lots of people celebrate the birth of the Savior Christ with beloved friends and family.
these are not pleasant topics.
I can imagine this thread will get out of hand quickly.
I don't enjoy being the bearer of bad news,

Me thinks you do, from the posts Ive seen.
ma'am, you are certainly welcome to express your opinion.
I guess I just question the status quo, as, in my opinion, we all should.
When the Bible says don't do something, and it looks like that is what we ARE doing, I have to investigate.
So here I am.
All I can is wow! There is nothing wrong with celebrating Christmas as long as you know it has nothing to do with Santa or receiving presents. It's about taking one day a year celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ who later took beatings and died as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Nothing wrong with that![]()
It seems odd to me that on the whole Christians celebrate their own birthdays and those of their friends but find reasons not to celebrate Christ's birthday. (my cousin was adopted as a small baby and her exact birthday is unknown. My aunt and uncle picked a date to be her official birthday and they celebrated every year on that day).I do realize that the 25th is probably not the actual day he was born. However, we don't know the exact date
Since the majority of the world ( apart from those in the Eastern Orthodox church) have chosen to observe this day and to celebrate Christ's birth, I don't see why this is such an issue for some. I understand the concern about pagan rituals. You can still observe Christmas without getting caught up in the secular aspect ( I'm not condemning presents or a tree). My favorite aspect of Christmas has always been the Christmas Carols and spiritual observance of the holiday. I don't see how that is wrong
amen to that, sir.
Admiral Ackbar from star wars popped into my head with that comment
