Honestly, and I've said this before, I don't think this will be an issue for 99.999% of us.

Where I see this really coming into play is in the end. You know, when those who thought they were going to be spared judgment and then wake up to find themselves smack dab in the middle of it - and then question if they were wrong about that, what else are they wrong about?

Everyone knows about the antichrist. But few acknowledge the apostasy... EVEN THOUGH PAUL PUT THEM ON AN EQUAL FOOTING.

If you believe in the antichrist, then you also have to believe in the apostasy.

You DO know what apostasy is, right?

And no, that's not an attempt to derail and introduce end times arguments. I'm just pointing out where this will most come into play.
Sorry, but when people say salvation must be maintiained or it can be lost because of somethingwe do or do not do. That is a major issue, because it takes then glory from god. And places then glory on the worker

Websters Dictionary:

Definition of apostasy

plural apostasies: an act of refusing to continue to follow, obey, or recognize a religious faith
2: abandonment of a previous loyalty : defection

Guess I gotta go redact THAT from the MRV as well...

Glad you get your defenitions from an english dictionary, do yu think it helps?

Another from Webster:

tunnel vision

: constriction of the visual field resulting in loss of peripheral vision
2: extreme narrowness of viewpoint : narrow-mindedness; also : single-minded concentration on one objective

someone posted a mirror in another thread, you need to use it,

god said narror is the gate, god said there is only 1 way. True christianity demands tunnel vision when it comes to the gospel. And the end of that tunnel is christ. There is no other eay

Those are all valid points... and so are the scriptures that say it can and will happen, despite how unbelievable we might find it.
No they do not say it, you just thnk they do,

to many scriptures say otherwise, scripture can not contradict itself

but if you want to keep boasting in self, and denying it, thats on you

This is like being in a Charlie Brown movie ... one character speaks clearly, but all the closed ears care to hear is 'wa wa waa waa wah.'

You're right. Salvation cannot be lost forfeited or given away.

And people can deny God, blaspheme the Holy Spirit, and still get into heaven.

Sorry, gotta leave this bit o fun and go redact more scripture so's it will match our beliefs... you know, the one that says people can deny God, blaspheme the Holy Spirit, and still get into heaven.

Kindly include the part where we are not the possessor but the possession in salvation. We are the saved not the Savior. We are not living by our will but by His will.

For the cause of Christ

Did Jesus pay for every single sin that could ever be committed, or not? Can Christians commit such terrible sins as you've mentioned, or not?

Peter denied Jesus, not once, but three times. Is he lost?

Do you say, or have you said OMG? Saying OMG is blaspheming the name of God. Unless you believe the Holy Spirit isn't God.

You can't pick and choose what sins are forgiven and which ones aren't. You don't have that authority.

Either all sin is forgiven, or none are. You can't have it both ways.

See how He twist things, and tries to attack others by saying things they not even they would say?

If you can not discuss honestly and openly, why are you here? If all you can do is attack people to try to discredit them, all your doing is hurting your own testimony

your 3rd paragraph is false. And no one here even remotely teaches that those things could be true, so why would you attempt to mock people when they would not even say such things, your being dishoest. Instead of leaving and hiding, maybe you should repent and figure out what those you are apposed to really believe?

i know i know, thats to hard, you proved that by attacking people, not actually trying to discuss what they are saying. Way to go,

To me it's like this:

Me: That car is orange
Another: No it's not, it's blue
Me: What color is this orange I'm holding in my hand?
Another: Orange, duh!
Me: Is this orange the same color as that car?
Another: Of course, duh!
Me: What color is that car?
Another: Blue!
Me: :bangs head against wall:

Hey! I used an analogy about a car just a little while ago in regard to people insisting we must work to retain salvation;

That's like telling someone, "Hey, I'm gonna give you a car for free! But after you receive it, you have to paint my house once a year, or I'll take the car back!"
I expect a royalty check from you soon.

This would fit how we see workers for salvation well. Those who insist that salvation can be lost.

Prime example of what I said.

And people can deny God, blaspheme the Holy Spirit, and still get into heaven.
He hears us say the car is blue (they can still get to heaven) , when we really said the car is orange (they will never get to heaven), then mocked us by saying we think the car is blue (they can still get to heaven).

people insisting we must work to retain salvation;
That right there tells me all I need to know about how closely you are paying attention. You obviously are not.

Which is why I don't post scripture. Scripture is to be considered. You all use it for target practice.

Thus, to carry on this any further is vain and unfruitful.

I hope, for the sake of my family and everyone else in such a situation, you are right. I really do.

But I have to listen to the totality of scripture. And it says you are wrong. For some, dead wrong.

Adios amigos!

we have to do the same, and we see scripture says you are wrong. Dead wrong. and are not willing to boast of our works or try to think we for one minute could do something god would take and say yes, I will keep you saved as long as you do these works. That would put the glory and ability and power on our backs, and not on Gods.

God said he came to offer us rest, Your not offering people rest so we can not follow you.

John 8:34-36: "...Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed"

John 1:11-13: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God"

I pay attention just fine. Adding any condition to a gift negates it as such.

But I have to listen to the totality of scripture. And it says you are wrong.
The totality of the gospel is that all sins, past, present, and future have been paid for by the shed blood of Jesus. Salvation is a free gift by the grace of God. It cannot be earned or maintained through any work of ours.

Period.

Amen, Jesus said it is finished (literally paid in full) He did not say, Ok, I did my part. now you must do yours!
