Peterson used American slang for The Message, and he admits he could have researched it better. But the phrase "as above, so below" is from a legendary (mythical) book of magic called The Emerald Tablet, part of the Hermetica, by a probably fictitious Hermes Trismegistrus.

I don't think he ever got a copywrite for it.

We, as Christians, should live in the style "as above, so below".

If occultists, satanists, buddhists, spiritists, masonry, secret organizations, aliens on Mars and who else exists want to use this phrase in various meanings, its their fight, its not related to us.

Your reasoning is totally irrelevant to a Bible translation question.

I rather care about Greek manuscripts than such works. It seems to be more useful to me.

Maybe Eugene Peterson thought he was coining a new and original phrase. Is the phrase "as above so below" a WELL KNOWN OCCULT AXIOM? I will be content with a yes, no or I don't know answer from you.

I don't think it's totally irrelevant, since the Message is a modern translation, albeit questionable as to content if not motive.

Correct me if I am wrong, I do not use it, but is not "Message" a free paraphrase targeted to easy reading?

If so, to discuss "they are not precise here or there" is quite absurd...

It wouldn't have made a difference if Esau knew what God hated or not would it, according to the letter God hated him from the womb.... note I said according to the letter.

I have already responded; I am not obligated to disprove your assertion. That is a burden-of-proof reversal, and I won't play that game.

Most folks don't even consider it a bible at all. There is nothing precise about it. The copy I had I threw away.

You were so quick to come to the defense of the Peterson's rendering of Matthew 6:10 and now you cannot answer a simple question! You should do a bit more research before you dive into the conversation.

Until somebody forces you to use it and read it, I see no problem. Its not targetted on you, obviously.

I will not answer a question designed to garner agreement with an assertion that you have not supported with linking evidence.

Step up with the evidence, and we'll discuss it. I don't need to do your research for you.
