My day yesterday was so painful. I was thinking a lot about my friend who is gone to be with Jesus last year November. We were very good good friends. I cried and look to his pictures and listen to our conversations. When evening comes me and a few friends decided to pray for an hour every night at seven 🕖. While praying I become very emotional, I kept on praying and in the middle of prayers I kept quiet. I became very burdened to those on the earth that never hear the gospel and those that heard the gospel but live on as if life is forever, those who are Lukewarm, than a verse came to mind and I share it with the ladies.

Psalm 32:8
Instruct me Lord and lead me in the way I should go, guide me with your eye. Another verse came up

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and He shall direct your path. This is what I would like to share today. May you be blessed.

Hello @Patiencegoliath,

I am so sorry about your beloved friend. I have some people in my life and I know it's going to devastate me when God calls them home.

I'm so glad you had others to pray with you!

Is there something specific we can pray for you as well, along with comfort from the Lord?

Thank you very much for sharing these passages -- they're wonderful reminders of God's ever-present help for us all.

I hope you find your time here to be helpful.

Welcome to CC! 💖🕊️💐

Lol! Loved the opening line. :D

Man, it's dangerous when a place you go to regularly is right next to a food place you might like. There was a time during some of my jobs that I had way too much McDonald's, and way too much Dunkin' Donuts coffee, all due to proximity!

I really hope the physio gives you some relief and improvement.

And thank you so much for starting off this thread. 🥰
I eat at McDonald's every other day. I down with the Dunkin' Donuts though. Unfortunately, the closest store is 38 miles away. Guess I will have to settle for Hostess. Score a bag of the powdered mini ones.

Unfortunately the cat found out...

Of course the cats had to have their say! 😆

It stormed last night so I was up late to comfort pup (who is pretty stressed by storms). And I think in order to use up stuff in the freezer next week my typucal breakfast of sausage egg and cheese sandwiches will be replacec by bacon eggs and toast. That will let me use up the bacon and the loaf of homemade bread that's been in the freezer since spring.

Bacon egg toast??? 🥓🍳🍞

Yes, please!!!

What time should we swing by to take one (or two +,) to go?! 😁

We just found out our 13th grandchild is on the way!

This is wonderful news!!

Congratulations!! 🎉 Thank you for reminding us that God is good, all the time.

And...

Is there a certain age that you bless each of your grandchildren... with THEIR VERY FIRST coffee maker??? 😁☕

(Gotta get 'em started on the right path while they're young...)

For those who don't know, @NightTwister is one of our resident coffee connoisseurs.

However, I think NightTwister is the only person here with something like 245 coffee makers -- and it seems to go up with every count. 😆

Hubby and I were up early to do housework , we always listen to loud music when we do housework , it helps keep our energy up . We listened to : Kate Bush , Blue Oyster Cult , Alice Cooper , Johnny Cash , J J Cale and Sparks . It's all done now but , even though it's been two months since we had to have our cat put to sleep , we r still finding the odd hair of hers as we clean . This has made us both shed a few tears ( again ) today . One day when we clean up , we wound find any any more , not sure how I feel about that 😟 . Now all my chores r done , I'm going to play Oblivion for a couple of hours and hubby will writing until about 6pm .
Yesterday was lovely , we went for a long walk together . Went down by the river , which is a huge natural port , went through a park and an old overgrown cemetery . All very lovely . I find nature extremely calming , all the different shades of green and the winter sunlight . It defo helps me a lot to b outdoors in fresh air and able to feel the wind and hear the birds etc . Nothing better than God's gorgeous creation .

I am so sorry about your kitty. 😔

Has there been any news on the cat you caught and rescued after you took him to the shelter?

It sounds like you're going to have a lovely, relaxing day -- I hope you and your hubby will feel comforted and refreshed. 💖

a typical day for karlon: i always start in with prayer while still in bed. i get up & make breakfast for mrs. wife & i. we play our phone games. she goes to the farm, i clean up breakfast. i go to work on antiques such as graniteware & Sunoco items. clean them, research values. thru out the day, between this & that, i am almost always praying for someone or something. next, i drove to my small engine guy to get my power pruner fixed. he fixed it on the spot. bty, he's the most talented around here, has degrees in big diesel repair, very well schooled. then i performed the grocery shopping for my 96 year old customer. i talked business with a few customers, answered calls for work & worked at accounting. also, washed a few loads of clothes, folded & put away. dinner with wifey, more of the same earlier mentioned. then some tv & off to bed. yes, Bible thoughts & silly thoughts which i won't mention here & a serious prayer request. a future customer's wife had surgery on tuesday & i told him my wife & i prayed for her speedy painless recovery. my wife & i will pray for tourist. sometimes the simplest activities of life are enjoyable to talk about. i get that. for lunch, twas a couple of slices of wunderbar bologna, a half bagel, raspberries, blackberries, grapes & a banana. i studied a magnus carlsen chess game. & so, blessings pleasures to everyone today!

WOW!!!

What a day, @Karlon!!

I think I'm going to need a nap just trying to keep up! 😁

It's always amazing how much energy you have, which is always very inspiring (but also makes me feel lazy!) 😆

May God bless you and Thea, and especially for looking after your 96-year-old customer. 🙏🏼

I am going to pick up my late wife's ashes today at the funeral home. I have paid quite a bit so far but still owe X hundreds of dollars. Nice peeps there. Said I could take my time paying the balance. Wonder what would happen if I didn't pay anymore. Repossessed the ashes? Nah. Gonna pay.

She was born in Muncie, Indiana so when I visit my daughter in Michigan, I will stop by that city and pick a nice quiet colorful spot to scatter her ashes. Once I accomplish that I will be more thoroughly prepared to get on with my life in a positive direction.

It will bring closure to me.

This made me tear up to read.

I am so sorry, Tourist.

We know God's will is Sovereign, and that God is good, all that time.

But man, can His will ever hurt.

Keeping you in our regular prayers! 🙏🏼💖🌹

Why is there never much talk about the fact that God will eventually call half the married -- to once again be single?

I guess there is a price that has to be paid one day for those who choose to marry. As for myself, I have no regrets. It was well worth the cost of admission.

This should be framed and be required reading for anyone entering Singles (in my humble opinion.)

I greatly appreciate all the married friends who have encouraged us over the years. And as mentioned in my opening posts, I was always grateful that @tourist and JesusLives started out here in the Singles Forum EXACTLY like most of us -- just every day singles, navigating through life.

But when that changed, and God called them to be married -- they NEVER treated us any differently.

I ADORE married people who come in here to cheer us on.

But then there are some of the other marrieds who have an agenda to automatically plant flags of authority to "preach" to singles...

Two questions always come to my mind:

1. Are you hoping/betting on God calling your spouse to be the one He calls to be single once again -- and not you? Because otherwise, you're on a path to eventually be single -- just like the rest of us.

2. So what are you going to do if you lose "the bet" -- and God chooses you as the one who will be single?

We always see marriage emphasized as an absolute -- and in God's eyes, it is -- but only until one of the two who were one is called home.

Marriage may be for life, but it's still temporary.

For some reason, the ones who want to "preach" to us all about how to to find someone and how to live -- always neglect to mention that part.

And I think it's a very important part to include for anyone who wants to teach about marriage.

But that's just me.

I gave one of my kids a Nespresso machine, but she never uses it. I taught my son how to make good coffee, but then he got a Keurig and buys his coffee from Costco. They're all disinherited...

It is always sad when the day comes when you have to put a beloved pet to sleep. That is a drawback to bringing pets into your life. Eventurally, they are going to leave you. Or, you are going to leave them.

As @seoulsearch has mentioned:

For sure 😞 those of us who r fortunate to have had a great love , r bound to suffer great sorrow also . But as u say , it's always worth it ❤️ .

Yesterday I learned I was selected for a 4 day fishing trip to the Frying Pan in Colorado, most expenses paid by an organization that supports disabled Veterans. Woohoo!

Yesterday I also had some medical tests where they injected some kind of nuclear radiation into my blood stream and put me in a machine that took pictures of my heart. They also had me walking on a treadmill while injecting yet more radioactive material. Don't let that get you down. The good side of this is I won't be needing to uses the batteries in my flashlights for several days.

😲😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 I had that too ! It hurt like h--l ! When I had breast cancer , they injected my boob with nuclear material in order to identify some lymph nodes under my arm , then they used a gyger counter under my arm to detect the specific lymph nodes and removed them . The nuclear injection was the most painful part of my treatment ! 😆😆😆 .

This made me laugh out loud!!!

But now who will all your coffee makers go to??!!!

(Good Will called... They don't have enough shelf space.) 🤯

These are the kinds of things people these days, both single and married, really need to hear -- from those who are living through it.

Thank you! 💖
