I don't personally believe in this "inner healing" thing that takes people back to their childhood either. I believe that we are new creations in Christ and we are not under any generational curses..etc. There are generation curses - I just don't believe it them. I believe in what Jesus did on the cross and resurrection.

But for me to throw someone's teaching on healing out because of that they had taught on the inner healing thing - this is just spiritual ignorance on my part.

We need to learn how to eat the hay and spit out the sticks when we listen to teachers. If they go outside of their gifting - what the Lord has anointed them to teach on - all sorts of things that are not consistent with the finished work of Jesus can be taught.

Anyway - that's my view on it..

I said nothing about not needing teachers. I don't need someone though to teach me a formula about healing.
I simply go to the Healer.

Praying Hail Mary's is a Catholic practice. Mortal sin is part of Catholic doctrine. When did it become a mortal sin to pray the rosary?

out to God for help I did not have faith, and yet He responded, and transformed my life.

Praying the Rosary is Praying to Mary. The Rosary has the 'Hail Mary' Prayer in it. That which you Pray to is your God. This is why Praying to Mary is a Mortal sin because Mary then is their god.

I did not know if God really existed or not when I cried out to Him in desperation. I did not know if He would help at all, let alone whether or not He really existed. People do move from no faith to faith through Divine intervention. Did Paul believe that Jesus was God when Jesus revealed Himself to Saul? I had multiple supernatural encounters with God before I came to believe He was Who He was telling me He was. For you to try to tell me I had faith before then seems presumptuous to me.

i have read the book back around 1985. It was required reading in this Church class for counselors. I dumped the book nearly as fast as I had gotten it. What I remember is what I told you.
i suppose I could troll the internet and come up with lotsa sludge, but I have better things to do with my time than try to convince others what they already have their heart set on.

But Jesus said all sins shall be forgiven man except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Do you think praying to Mary is that one sin that won't be forgiven?

You can keep your head shoved wherever it is that you have it, but I read about some experiences, and I trusted the Scriptures given, and chose to bring my head out and breathe God's free air. And a debilitating pain I had suffered with for two months disappeared.

Just a few thoughts (interesting thread ).

I don't think it's the repetition that is the issue. How many of us pray
similar prayers over and over again or use the same terminology etc.
How may pray regularly for unsaved family members and friends.
How many of us pray for break throughs several times in the life's of people
we know, both in our own lives and also on here for people. Do we just pray
once and then not again.

I think the key word is "vein" I would suggest this may mean praying learnt
prayers without even thinking of want we are praying about. It may be that
some people pray out of superstition, or that they don't actually believe the words
they are saying. It would also suggest that some people pray just to impress others.
Do you know the kind, they don't actually talk to God instead they pray to impress
the people around them. I suspect this was part of the problem with the Pharisees.

Prayer is conversation with God, any time we just spout out words either out of
habbit, because it is expected, to impress others, to just be part of the in crowd, but
without actually talking to God - this I suggest is probably praying in vein and if we
repeat it, it's even worse.

I was reading the Bible the other day and I came across Matthew 6:7 (AMP) that says "and when you pray do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard because of their many words." what does God mean by meaning less repetition?

I lost my dog 11 days ago and I've been repeating the same thing over and over again, that God would restore my dog and all her puppies back to me and thanking him for restoration. Is this meaningless repetition?

My sister, share your heart with God like you will with no one else. Weep, smile and be sincere with Him. God will never forsake you. To put it simply, be at peace and be yourself, and God will be well pleased. This is what Jesus wants for us.

You misunderstand crossnote. Its not because the Catholics pray to Mary, its because the Catholics have made Mary equal to God.

Catholics believe they have received Salvation when they were Baptized as babies in the Catholic Church. Therefore no Catholic feels the need to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior to receive Salvation.

God does forgive us of all our sins, but not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior is one sin God cannot forgive.

This is why Catholics will never enter into Heaven.
