... still doesn't prove that... Satan was thrown from Heaven and fell to Earth and cursed all of creation between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, so that God had to recreate everything on earth a second time, as some seem to believe.
But it is obvious from scripture why some literalists are arguing for two separate creations, don't you think? In Genesis 1:24-25 God created the animals and lastly created Adam and Eve, and then in Genesis 2:18 there is another story with God creating Adam, but finding him lonely then creates all the animals afterward, presenting them one at a time to him to name; but not finding a suitable companion for man God at last makes woman. The order of events is different thus demonstrating the existence of two separate creation accounts.

Historians explain the discrepancy by arguing that two initially unique accounts of creation have been joined by ancient editors. The one account is from the creation myth of the northern kingdom and the other from the creation myth of the southern kingdom; at least that is the secular explanation.

Ah, that explains this belief! The book of Enoch and the Book of Jasher! But they're more like Midrash or biblical fiction. They're not meant to be taken as the inspired Word of God, or held to the same standard. It's worrying that some Christians do such a thing. Speculations are fun but they're not godly truth.

yep!,it's probably from several extra biblical sources. weather they are to be heeded to or not i suppose is led by different denominations(some churches do,and always have included them as scripture). that said tho in years past i took strong s concordance and researched the occurrence of the term "the book of" as recorded in scripture there is listed in the bible the book of "Gad"(1chron.29;29),book of Nathan(1chron.29;29 and 9;29ect.) book of Shemaiah(2chron.12;15) and many others.

Gad and Nathan i think were actually 2nd Samuel Book of Samuel the Seer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia here is a list of books spoken of in the bible (some we have some not) Non-canonical books referenced in the Bible - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ,,,,

I suppose maybe one day archeologist may unearth some or all of these(maybe not) there are several statements in scripture that could be addressed also,i.e. the statement of the writer of (Hebrews 7;3) " without father, without mother, without descendent, having neither beginning of days' nor end of life",,,that is the writer of Hebrews(writing to the Hebrews and expecting them to recognize this quote) is making a "statement/quote" in great hopes that the comparison between Melchisedek and Jesus would be instantly recognized.

But if it is so that they would recognize this quote,,,"what book was he quoting from"??,,,that is in the bible we have this exact quote never appears! Thinking about this it would seem that they(the Hebrews) would have questioned how the writer came up with the Idea that Melchisedek "had no father or mother"(all born have a father and mother),,he may not have had children,,,but "beginning of days nor end of life" also would have been questioned because it asserts that he was never born nor died.,,,but I still have no idea (where the writer is quoting this from),,,

In Egypt the Pharoe also knew of a prophecy among the Hebrews of a deliverer (verbal or written book we don't know) but he considered it to be such among the Hebrews that he ordered the first born sons to be cast into the river. I am pointing this out because Moses wrote the first 5 books(that we have) and this prophecy of "a deliverer" was extremely valid among prophecy long before the first word was written by Moses in genesis.

Across my life I have read the bible beginning to end(from the first word to the last without skipping),,then reread it till I have lost track of the times i have read certain books. I have read 1Enoch,book of the luminaries, secrets ect.,,most all of the books we refer to as "early church fathers" Iliad/Odyssey,,ect.ect. I think some books(biblical),,may have at one point been valid but after being copied/translated Incorrectly (not meaning the books we have in the bible except for errors),,,but books like "acts of Barnabas" or "the book of Barnabas"(and others),,,,"they make me wonder if at one time they were "valid books" but then after being translated/copied were "altered",,,

We don't i think know the answers to this(I would hate to say no and they be valid,or yes and they not be valid)so if you ever read them (proceed with caution!),,,in the Qumran manuscripts(dead sea scrolls) there is also a book "Essene Revelation" that is a shorter version of the book of Revelations,,,problem is it "pre-dates the Revelation of john",,, Essene Revelation ,,,,,

But who were the Essene? and should we regard any of the books found at the dead sea? see (acts 13;1),,,"MANAEN",, he is the son of Manaen the Essene(by some sources) Essene Revelation that is as the story goes he(Manaen of the essenes) was befriended by Herod the great and his son was (adopted and raised/educated by him),,so then the man "manaen in acts 13;1" who is "brought up with Herod the tetrarch" and then converted to Christianity.

so then in the caves at the dead sea(the Essenes books) we find a host of books that were circulated among the Hebrews(at least one denomination of them) so we can "peep into the way they thought",that is 1enoch was among their books along with Jasher,Jubalees,ect.ect.,,,,,,,"and so the teachings in them were well known in that day",,,,

That is to address your original statement in the o.p. (forgive me if i talk to much, lol),,,the "teachings of the origin of the Nephilim and dinosaurs are found with in these books,,so this is not only a "modern manner of thinking",that is that the Nephilim created the dinosaurs, giants ect.. That is the very books from Qumran(dead sea scrolls) are known to be from then(sealed in those caves) probably to protect them(preserve) because of the destruction taking place in Jerusalem in July,ad70(destruction of the temple),,,

But now these books were being copied(also found was the ink and pens, ect.) so these books were from long before this time period(notice it predates the fixing of both old and new testament cannons),,,that is we say "there not in the bible, meaning today's",,,,"but they are clearly in the books amassed together in a.d.70+ or -"

So today is 2014,and we say "it's not in the bible",,,but in a.d.70 and before many of these books "were in the temple and in the caves at Qumran",,,,so who is to judge which books the Jew's of old considered as scripture, that is "is our opinion more wise as to what they regarded as scripture than theirs?",,,,

I myself find it very curious that before Jesus came the Jews had passed these books around among themselves and then after Jesus was born and crucified then went back through these same books and "cleansed them" of any and all books pertaining to Christ. So then what is the mid-rash,ect?,,,,that is the "organized cannon, and oral traditions",,,,are only amassed and officially accepted "after the appearance of Jesus of Nazareth",,,and these are the books that they held dear before Jesus of Nazareth, and disregarded after the rise of Christianity,,,,,,,

Come on, guys. I know it's a silly theory, I just want to have a reasonable discussion.

There seem to be quite a few theories and me personally I tend to lean toward the following...

1. Dino's came from the reptiles that still roam the planet based upon...

a. Reptiles never quit growing
b. Before the flood the earth was one consistent temperature and was surrounded by a canopy of water which made the earth like a giant green house hence a millennium plus growing time for the reptiles which allowed for the size....

I personally believe they were wiped out in the flood as the earth that was perished being overflowed with water.....

Now concerning Giants it is interesting to note a few things....

1. Noah was genetically pure (from Hebrew) in his generations
2. The giants during the days of Noah would have been wiped out in the flood
3. Humanity was reconstituted by Noah's three sons
4. WHERE did the giants during the days of David come from as they were AS TALL AS THE CEDARS and the Jews were AS GRASS HOPPERS in their sight?

What I was talking about was putting a gap between the first two verses of Genesis. The 'two' accounts of creation in Genesis, Chapter 1 and Genesis, Chapter 2 are something else altogether. There are plenty of quality articles about this so-called discrepancy, but to keep it really short: Chapter 1 is an overview of creation, it shows the big picture, up to Chapter 2:3 (God's perspective, if you will). Chapter 2:4 onwards is much more focused on the creation of man. This was a common method of writing amongst the Hebrew people. So, one account but two different focuses. That said, it's believed that when these historical accounts were shared orally, only one or the other was shared. Think of it like the gospels. There was/is only one Jesus Christ but there are four different perspectives on His life and ministry. Think of the creation story in that respect. Two different perspectives reporting the one creation.

Gen 6:4

There were giants in the earth in
those days; and also after that,
when the sons of God came in
unto the daughters of men, and
they bare children to them, the
same became mighty men which
were of old, men of renown.

Noah's daughters in law carried the gene.

Noah's daughters in law carried the gene.

One of his daughter in laws may have carried the gene but it would've had to lie dormant for many generations (up until Abraham's time - 400 years or so later, following the Great Flood).

I recently came across this theory that dinosaurs weren't created by God but that they were genetically-engineered by Nephilim. Personally, I believe God created dinosaurs (and similar extinct creatures) roughly 6,000 years ago. Where do people even find a smattering of biblical evidence for beliefs about Nephilim manipulating the DNA of creatures to create dinosaurs? Yes, dinosaurs were weird-looking and some were huge and others dangerous, but that doesn't mean God didn't create them. I Googled this topic and only found crack-pot conspiracy pages and the first entry on Google (GodLikeProductions) bans ISPs from the word get-go (they must be preserving the truth - lol). Is this a well-known belief? Has it been around long? Also, where's the 'evidence'? Thanks

This is a hard topic. But Holy Scripture speaks of dragons. And there might be species which have become very rare to be found.Funny thing is just as much as fossils of giants are hidden purposefully,a great deal of effort is taken by same fools to spread ideas about dinosaurs and that they lived millions years ago....
There is a possibility of genetic changes done with dark satanic technology in past.
History points to such things.
The internet cannot answer this question.
silly companies like google are only good for solving digital probs, otherwise its a veil that covers the actual truth of this world.Real question is how many who are suspicious might be willing to seek it out by taking an effort to travel and find even if its life threatening?

Are there any historical docs explaining about them existing 300 million years ago?
Historical evidence for the Carboniferous period? No, but there are plenty of scientific papers.

Historical evidence for the Carboniferous period? No, but there are plenty of scientific papers.
The validity of those papers doesn't count, because the so called scientists change it from time to time...:D

I think God gave us a gazillion +1 ways to prove his existence. Science proves it more and more each day. The difference between science and God is....God has always been constant, and has put in place the natural laws of the universe...the unchanging laws that create balance out of what should be absolute chaos. Science is ever changing, and is mostly based on theory. What is 'proven' as fact today, will be dismissed as fiction in the future. Whenever there is a human element involved, it's near impossible to get uncontaminated/unbiased data. Sometimes we'll get a glimpse into these natural laws, and when this happens, it creates a valid argument for intelligent design. Quantum Physics is a perfect example. The very essence and concept of what we know of it, shows the very frame work of how prayer works....and how large prayer groups can have greater effects.
It can be proven over and over without a lab, without scientists......it just works. We create a collective mind of positive thought, or positive energy, and in turn, it attracts and returns the same type of energy. Negative attracts negative, positive attracts positive.

You makes some pretty interesting points. When I am confronted about faith, and how new scientific evidence proves God does not exist. Many arguments are bunk because their arguments are only theoretical. One of my favorite rebuttals when people ask "where you there when God created Earth?" is no, but I never saw the "Big Bang" either. Then I usually tell them that until you are able to "feel God" you can never understand the Truth.

Something else I wanted to add to this conversation is that Jack Van Impe once said that God's time an our time are completely different and that one year of God's time is thousands of Earth years. Could there be any truth to that?

Come on, guys. I know it's a silly theory, I just want to have a reasonable discussion.
Nothing in the bible nor science to back up said theory.

It's really just an "opinion" than a theory as it is backed up by no evidence.

As far as dinosaurs are concerned, there are many creationist trying to explain why or how they existed, none have successfully been proven or are recognized in the scientific field, and usually amount to "well we can't trust science!".

I feel the topic of dinosaurs is a sad one when it comes to christianity. They are such interesting life-forms but are always viewed as an attack on the religion.

I think this is mainly due to the holes in the "creationism" argument from a scientific standpoint*(i.e. 6k year old earth, 6 day creation with out of order creation) and the awful presentation it has had within the media/internet.

Read the Book of Jasher it expounds on this. The bible reference this so its credible Jos 10:13 and 2 Sam 2:18. Also there is such thing as the mystical sea dragons (Leviathan) and satyrs as well.

Isa 13:21 But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
Isa 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Can't you SEE my hands waving in the air, "I KNOW, I KNOW!!!!

The atmosphere was different back then, and the oxygen level was different. A Japanese scientist discovered a place where air had been trapped from those times, so he tested the air and then could duplicate it. They planted a patio tomato plant in air like it was, the tomato plant grew to a huge bush. They now use air like this in hospitals in tanks called hypobaric oxygen tanks, and it does wonders for curing burns and wounds. This is why people back then lived such long lives, the flood changed the atmosphere and soon after the life span was less.

This is why dinosaurs grew so big and so did plants, so they are a source of our oil.

Case solved.

It could be that we are not God, so there are many mysteries that God isn't solving for us, God gives us just the answers we need.

Chuck Missler has something on youtube about for what it's worth.

Admittedly, there are some biblical creation supporters who aren't qualified to speak about such things but there are quality ministries that do a great job of explaining such a view - CMI (Creation Ministries International), AiG (Answers in Genesis) and to a lesser degree ICR (Institute for Creation Research). I don't think you're giving their view the time of day, a chance to have a voice. It's not that we don't trust science, we don't trust the worldview by which they perceive everything they study, observe, and make up stories (yes, origins is history-based, not science). It's silly that they can't tell the difference between origins and observational science. Dinosaurs in the evolutionary framework of millions of years and evolution are an attack on Christianity but not with a biblical creation understanding. Remember you need to give something the time of day before dismissing it outright. As for me, I'm of the understanding that we should hold Scriptures above Science. The Scriptures should be used to make sense of everything in life, not Science. That's not its role.

I'm very familiar with such things as the Leviathan, yes. As for satyrs. I believe that's a reference to pagan goat/man gods, not dinosaurs or Nephilim 'experiments'.
