I know of Jews who accept Paul's writings with as much conviction as they accept the rest of the Bible. And I know of Gentiles who are less comfortable with Paul's writings than they are the rest of the bible. The key is the Holy Spirit leading into truth, not whether you are Jew or Gentile
i understand what your saying,
i was trying, to tie loose ends. as many are confused by pentecost and cornelius act 10 jewish and gentile, getting the holy spirit.

Are you telling me my heart has deceived me?

Who are you to judge another man's servant. I judge nom one for what they have yet to elarn, yet you allude my receiving the Holy Spirit is a deceitful heart. Sham on you.

Know you not that only Jesus Christ i Master of all of the Word. If it is His wisdom keekping one or many from understanding exactly as others do, do you not believe He is capable of teaching them all they need know from what they are already given to understand.

Teh only One Who is Master of all of the Word is the Word, Himself, our Salvation, Jesus Yeshua.

Do you want my heavenly ID? Here it is:

Jesus Christ, Yeshua, is my Salvation, my Savior. I claim His blood as cleansing me and sanctifying me to be counted as righteous by the faith given me in Him

Now, you claim His Blood. The confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the Spirit of prophesy.....see Revelation.

Stop judging people as concerning their Salvation. My heart can never be deceived, not for long anyway, because nothing will ever separate me from the Love of Jesus Christ, Yeshua. Please keep this in mind when you are posting your great understanduing to your family in Him.

The heart is deceitful, and the imagination can imagine much, but the words of Jesus are unshakeable. And according to Christ, what was stated before the Epistles could be understood without the indwelling prescence of the Holy Spirit as experienced at Pentecost. What
followed the Gospels requires a person to be led of the Holy Spirit to understand.

If a persons heart says ''this is true, this is true'' to what precedes the Epistles, but does not say the same to what follows the Gospels, I would take Jesus words as to the probable reason why that is so, not the fallible mind of man.

I have understood well those who quote Paul only when discussing this question. I have made it crystal clear that I learn of Paul about the assemblies and certainquestions which arose for them in those times. I have also made it clear that I do not discount Paul. What I have indicated, and I continue indicating is, we are invited to learn the gospel of Jesus Christ from Jesus Chrñst, and this I have practiced since I fist believed Yahweh, actually since I was first convinced. If I am invited to learn from God, why are there so many quoting Paul to me without understanding? Even Paul teaches the Gospel, the only, is from Jesus Christ.

Anyone who understands all of Isaiah alone, knows Jesus Christ, Yeshua. The same hold tru for the Book of Psalms or Genesis, for Jesus, Yeshua, is throughout the Prophets and the Law, so why are so many people acting as thought they belong to Paul.

If you are content to be where you are, and you believe Jesus Christ, leave others to the way Jesus Christ has gien them also. I will leave you where you are. You see, I constantly read Paul, but I constanly read all of the Word. This has been my practice for decades.

Your mindeset concerning this is clearly faulty. The bible is not in competition with itself. You don't relegate one part of it-or one set of writings below another. Paul shows us how to live according to the heart of Christ's teachings, he shows us how the cross of christ will bring sin not to be our master.
People have trouble understanding Paul, and then make the unfortunate comments they do because they refuse to allow themselves to be led of the Holy Spirit into truth. I repeat, Jesus said he was limited in what he could teach thew disciles for the Spirit had not yet come upon them. Anyone who insists the Gospels takes precedence over what follows have the wrong mindset of the bible. It is all equally God inspired of the Holy Spirit. If Paul does not contradict Christ(as he surel;y doesw not) why say Christ's words take precedence? Paul preached the message given to hyim by Christ to preach.
However, this is pointless, I have never heaqrd anyone state as you have in this debate. The Christians I know would never make such coments, they recognise Paul preached the Gospel given to him by Christ himself

Since Paul got all his revelation from Jesus Christ personally, you can start with either Paul or Jesus, there is no difference between them, in the light of the two covenants involved.

No difference between Paul and Yeshua? I tend to disagree with that statement.

Peter "warned us against" no such thing.

He warned us against wrestling and distorting the Scriptures to our own destruction as some did with Paul's writings, and are still doing today.

Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

I believe this warning is relevant to all of us.

Hi all,
I am enjoying reading these debates and opinions and studies on subjects.

Can anyone tell me if there are any recent threads on the subject of Paul and whether his teachings were right or wrong, etc, or is it a subject that has been killed?
Have people been banned due to it, or are there people on here who believe such?

Char

... I'm not of the opinion that his teachings are wrong and I don't write this to start a debate. Just wanting to ask all the long term regulars on this site because they should know such things...

lol, you mean is Acts2,Acts9,middle Acts,Acts 28'ers a "bad word"?,,,

All of the bible is prophetic truth. Written from different perspectives. It is all profitable for reproof, teaching and correction. Questioning Pauls legitimacy is a positive step toward truth, but also the teachings of John and Jesus' contritictions to the law. The Holy Spirit will guide you to the truth with proof in these matters. Excepting the truth without fact scatters the flock, but considering every possibility gathers the heard and leads to understanding. Discerning ignorance from evil completes the mission. It is the balance of mercy and justice.True wisdom realized. The Kingdom of God.

When you say "different perspectives," it kind of contradicts that all of the Word is of God, right? The source of all truth is God. All is His perspective inspiring varied prophets to pen them for us to read and learn. As for Paul, if you examine the posts about him, none are against him, but they do criticize anyone for belonging more to Paul than to Messiah.

Every man is different from the next. God is diverse but yet the same. He never changes but continues to grow. Gods voice through Abraham differers from Moses. Jesus differs from David. Eziekial, Daniel, Jesus and Johns vision of the end times have slight variations. Matthew, Luke, Mark and John give different accounts of Jesus. Jesus treated his diciples all differently based on their character and their strengths. Pauls gospel resonates mostly because just like us he never seen Christ as a man.

Again, clearly faulty reasoning. Christ stated when he(the Holy Spirit) came he would convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgement. Christ then went on to say he wanted to teach his disciples more but they could not year bear it.
Please tell me where in the Gospels it explains why sin shall not be your master?
Please show me from the Gospels where it is stated Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness?
Please show me from the Gospels where it is stated against the fruits of the spirit there is no law etc

It seems to me, many still cannot bear much knowledge that is written in the Epistles, therefore they want to stick predominantly to the Gospels for conviction. Christ is clear as to why that would be the case

Your own words testify against your faulty reasoning if you set one part orf the Holy Spirit inspired bible above another. The Holy Spirit inspired it all equally, He did not give anyone the right to pick and choose which parts they were convicted of as ''true, true'' and which parts they were entitled to have less conviction concerning

This, I believe, is a gross misconception may Christians hold. A Messianic Jew is, in fact, a believer in and follower of Jesus Christ. They most assuredly are Christians.

Yes, they maintain their identity as Jews. But no, no, no, no, no! They do not follow the Law, they do not add Jesus to the Law, and they believe their faith in the God of Israel as been completed in Christ as He is revealed in the Brit Chadashah, The New Covenant.

Yes, they continue to celebrate the feasts and festivals prescribed under the Law, but they do so
in a manner that demonstrates how Christ has fulfilled the meaning of each of the Holy Days.

So what is the focus in the Passover observance. . .delivery from slavery in Egypt by Moses, or
delivery from the guilt of sin and God's wrath on that guilt by Jesus Christ?

Once more you are judging your brother. Pay attention to what I have actually said, instead of reading into it what you want to hear. Remember God loves you, and I love you, not because of any merit, but because God loved us all first. Try to embrace your family in Jesus Christ, and what other understand, hold in your ehart until it is revealed to you. God is not emotion; He is life and love for us all. You are not exclusive in this privilege.

It couldn't be any clearer. . .the warning is not against the degree of difficulty of Paul's writings,
but is against wrestling Paul's writings, which brings one's own destruction, just as with wrestling the other Scriptures.

There is so much deliberate oblique altering of the meaning of NT statements in this group.

It betrays their true source.

For one who takes offense at someone judging your heart, you have no compunction in claiming that anyone "belongs more to Paul than to Jesus."

Nonsense. . .more oblique blaming and misrepresentation.

Does this advice also apply to you?

This sounds more like trying to deflect from the position you have unfortunately put yourself in. I am certainly not judging you as a person. However, as you clearly state you have great conviction of the bible as in ''true true'' apart from the Epistles where you have far less convition, you yourself have in your eyes set certain books below others in value to say the least.
I can only imagine from your words you DO NOT believe the whole Bible is equally inspired of the Holy Spirit, I do not see what other view you can take.
And I will keep repeating, in order for the Epistles to be clearly understood requires the prescence of the Holy Spirit in your life as the disciples experienced at Pentecost. That is according to Christ himself. Those who are led of the Holy Spirit as is available to them will NOT in anyway downgrade the Epistles or take them as lesser importance to the rest of the bible. If you call that judging you, so beit. But it is simple spiritual reality, and your accusations of foul play will not dissuade me from stating it

the old wine isn't the Old Testament it is the covenant made to Abraham and his Seed meaning Christ!
