Tattoos are cheap and easy to go on. $350+ for most of them.
However, the cost for removing them? $1500+ for most of them. Most cost more than that and is not covered by insurance even though professional medical staff is required to remove a tattoo. Tattoo removal easily reaches into the thousands of dollars these days and ALWAYS leaves a scar behind.

*shrugCarnal Christians think of "using" a phrase since they mistakenly believe their "opinion" matters, it doesn't.
A genuine Christian has a "position" based on scripture.

A Christian doesn't "Trot one out", that would be a work of hands, an outward form denying the power.
Jesus modeled how we are to live, explaining why He taught His Own would do greater things than He. He only did what He saw the Father do, He only said what He heard the Father say, modeling how we are to live to Him and not our carnal selves.
We witness and share as He guides, speaks and shows us our step knowing that He always has the most perfect plan that will not return void.

Every human being live wears a uniform of one kind or another. The uniform can say anything the wearer wants. It can say "Housewife" or "Liberal" or "rebel" or even "Policeman" or "Soldier". Tats are a uniform. We all instinctively read these uniforms and act accordingly. When I was a street cop I could spot a prison tattoo a mile away. Not all tats send the same message or get the same response.
If someone chooses to wear a visible tat they must be prepared to deal with the response. It was their choice, complaining about the response they get is the height of hypocrisy. The response is not hate!

Besides the implications of tattoos and other lifestyles choices have on us, this is simply a colorful discussion about preferences like @Lynx said.

I mean I know you are very fond of whipping that one out whenever somebody commits the unforgivable sin of disagreeing with you, but I didn't know you would slap it on me for trying to help you.

I understand your sentiment, but I really have enjoyed the time I spent in the UK.... it HAS gotten worse in the past couple of years, though...
There are so many historic, interesting things to see there... the food is not laced with all kinds of additives and preservatives, for the most part..
The pierced lady lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. You should do a trip like we did... start in England, and travel north, stopping at interesting places, like York.. then on up into Scotland. We did a bus tour of the Highlands... got to take a boat ride out on Loch Ness, got to pet a Highland cow, or a "hairy coo" as they call them.
Our most recent trip was through Ireland for a couple of weeks, ending up in Edinburgh again.
There's lots to see there, and the people are generally very friendly...

Knowing what you want and what you don't want in life can take time, years and experience.
At this point in life i know what i want and what i don't want.
And i definitely don't want any tattoos that's for sure !
To me,
it's a rejection of how God made you.
Or
Something you have repented of....a past life you now reject.
What we project to everyone walking down the street.
A uniform, as @Seeker47 discussed, or as a prostitute, a nun, a boy scout, a cowgirl, or those tattoos.....
Just dont complain when you are rejected by people making snap decisions based solely upon appearances.
All I can get from all my family who have ever traveled anywhere is, they went to see the sights.
As I am a registered, card carrying homebody, that is not enough reason for me to go. I believe we were given YouTube for just such a reason.

Also the people who are currently getting a lot of tattoos are going to have some weird social issues when they get old. Skin does strange things when it ages.

Basically, Charter has had a monopoly in many towns in Massachusetts for years through greasing the officials so they can maintain their monopoly.
But Verizon in the last 10 years has challenged their monopoly through complaints of people to the elected officials who have changed some laws.
So, when i changed my address a few years ago and went to another town that had Verizon, i immediately dropped Charter. With a bit of satisfaction i might add.
Then 1 month after, a Charter guy knocks on my door trying to sell me a package. I looked at him in the eye and i said "Tell your managers that i will consider going back to Charter if they paid me one hundred thousand dollars and gave me free internet for a year".
You should have seen the look on his face. He never came back.
Moral of the story?
Don't like Charter! Couldn't pay me enough to take them back.

I'm "out of footprint" so I still have to pay for my Internet. I got tired of Comcast increasing my rate (doubled in 3 years). I just recently made the switch to T-Mobile 5G Internet. Tattoo's are sought because the person believes it is what they need. They believe they need it to make themselves whole, for in their eyes it is what they are missing.
Some get it because they feel self-conscious in lack of beauty, and that such art will add to what they believe not to possess. Some get it to look tough or manly, because they think consciously or not, that without it they lack and this again will add a layer of protection since they will look more menacing. Some get it to reinforce an ideology, because without it they feel unheard, so again they attempt to fix with a permanent statement, that hopefully will get them noticed.
No matter the tattoo, it is fundamentally rooted in a fear. Because sin is when we act without the LORD, and without Him we act in fear.
So to accuse me of being harsh, or that I should lighten up? I don't kick people when they are down. Everyone with a tattoo did it because they believed they lacked when in fact they needed support to come to know I AM.
I will say again; Matthew 12:36; But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Your words either build or destroy. They help or they hinder. They gather or they divide.

Not really as its based off a faulty logic with no end to what you can do with "your body".
This is why Paul explained that your body is in fact no yours anymore.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
The rules we were given in the law were not to restrict us, but to protect us, from ourselves. We were made in the image of our Creator, and we all come without tattoo's. I have explained more in my above post.
