how does a summation do away with the things you are summing up?
no one has stated that so I'm not sure why you are asking this question. :(

ok back to reading and commenting then.....

Prayer and Blessing

22.To pray to God (Ex. 23:25; Deut. 6:13)
lots of new testament verses about that and we could talk about the different types of prayer and things. don't think anyone would argue about the importance of this one.........

23.To read the
Shema
[lit:The Hearing] in
the morning and at night

(Deut. 6:7)
so what would this be? verses:

Deut 6
[SUP]7 [/SUP]You shall whet and sharpen them so as to make them penetrate, and teach and impress them diligently upon the [minds and] hearts of your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.

looks like a manmade law to me, and a twisting of scripture...

24.To recite grace after meals (Deut. 8:10)
[SUP]10 [/SUP]When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for all the good land which He has given you.

I like that. people say grace before meals but the Bible says we are to praise God after eating :)

25.Not to lay down a stone for worship (Lev. 26:1)
somehow i think this might be over simplified...

[h=3]Leviticus 26[/h]Amplified Bible (AMP)

26 You shall make for yourselves no idols nor shall you erect a graven image, pillar, or obelisk, nor shall you place any figured stone in your land to which or on which to bow down; for I am the Lord your God.

sounds like a repeat of the NO IDOL commandment......

lunchtime, ttyl.

Those two about 'Love' are the only two you need to know, God gives us the strength of our soul through 'those two,' crossnoted, as all the others are important, too, as He leads us to understand them, or, not. I don't know.

'...you follow Me.' Who's to say we don't get asked by God to go learn the 613 for an occupation to teach others that there are two that will do :)

The Lord leads, crossnoted :)
And, I soooo want to Love God with all my heart, as He commands us, but, the ONLY way I can do it with His Spirit in me, leading, and, not my flesh being given power . The only way I can Love 'you' is through Him, there is NO Love in my flesh, it is pure concentrated evil, just like my heart, as Jeremiah tells us is evil . Without God, we are nothing, can do nothing, will BEAT nothing :)
Yes yes blah blah, my point was we fall wayyy short even with the big TWO

One thing about it, if you do away with the Law, there is no sin. Maybe that is what you are espousing.
uh....no.

read this...this is what i am in agreement with - Jesus fulfilled ALL things - the Law & The Prophets bear witness to His Righteosuness:

Romans 3
The Righteousness of God Through Faith
21But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

you don't believe there is a Righteousness coming from God, given to us, which is apart from His very own Law?:)

for sure.
if those Two are the whole of the Law, and righteousness cometh by the Law, Christ died for no reason.

In my opinion, only opinion, that neither to be followed. Matthew 22:35-40......."One of them, an expert in the law tested Him with this question; Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law!" Jesus replied; " Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your ind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments."

Very simple, Love does no harm, Love looks out for others, Love does not cheat. Whe we have the love of God in us, we are unable to do all that. Blessings

blue is considered to be the color of purity, that is why so many paintings of Mary mother of Jesus has her wearing a blue veil.

not going to debate the "future" with folks. I'm focused on TODAY.

so 125 laws do you think folks should follow, WomanLoveTX?
No. Only "folks" who are convicted by the Holy Spirit.

Those two are NOT the whole Law, they circumference the whole of the laws. blah, blah, blah, of course, Christ died for good reason. do you copy, ohzone :D

sometimes, ohzone, I wonder if what I say even goes in one ear, let alone, in one ear, and, out the other :D

STOP it, ohzone, just stop it, OK, milady. Here's how, when something I say is said, pray, let the Lord transfer it in to one ear and then PRAY ! right then, let the Lord then keep it in there, He will. The Lord leads, He will, because I'm speaking His truth. OK, so, let's try again, of these TWO FALL ALL THE OTHER COMMANDMENTS UNDER. OK? And, sure, all come by God's grace for us by His Son we are saved by on the cross. simple. it's a given. God's ultimate grace of Son sacrifice=saved by God , ALL mankind.

We have a winner ! :D

Love God , first. Love others as yourself, second, simple, all the rest is blah, blah, blah, without these TWO FIRST understood. Jesus said it,, not me, beanie, zoned in on the truth perfectly HERE. Simple. :)

Very good indeed all except for this...

Mat 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Sorry BeanieD and GreenNnice, but I gotta go with Christ on this one.

So John are you saying tassles aren't needed right now because we have the HOLY SPIRIT?

If so I would agree.

I just find it disturbing when people go hypocritical on me and say "you are picking and choosing which laws to follow" when if they are honest they do the same, yet when they do it, they call it "discrimination" and "rightly dividing God's word"

for example: dietary laws, stoning adulterers, keeping the feasts/festivals, the true meaning of the Sabbath, what the TABERNACLE is today and many other topics that bring out anger and false accusations when discussed.
First of all, the Designer and Maker of the human body probably knows better what fuel to put in it than you or I.

What is the true meaning of the Sabbath?

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Notice "things to come" was written twenty some years AFTER the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. Don't let anyone judge you FOR KEEPING these days because they are a shadow of things still to come.

The Sabbath is the Shadow of the coming Millenial reign of Christ. The Holydays reveal God's plan...

Passover - Christ's sacrifice to make eternal life possible
The Days of Unleavened Bread - putting sin out of our lives
The Wave Sheaf - the ascension of Christ on the morrow after the Sabbath
Pentecost - the harvest of the Firstfruits
Trumpets - the return of Christ
Atonement - the world becoming at one with Christ
Tabernacles - the Millenium
The Last Great Day - the Great White Throne Judgment

I always wonder why, until I'm reminded of these verses:

James 3
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. [SUP]14 [/SUP]But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. [SUP]15 [/SUP]This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. [SUP]17 [/SUP]But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

You tell me that when I stand up for the 613 laws as expressing love of God for us, as a path to worship, abundance and order for us I am "lambasting" you! Even though much of what you are saying is agreeing with law expressing love. I am reacting to most of our churches' position that all of God that speaks of God principles has been changed by Christ, not to fulfill but to have "love" take over, they say it wasn't love before.

I yearn to get the people who have been saved, who are one of us, to rethink about the God of the OT. I love that our churches know to worship in truth and spirit. But when God explained that was the essence of worship, the ritual part of worship was only to express that, you could go straight to the core and even leave off the path, they had no human way to express worship. God gave ways to express that, in day to day doing and when it was done as God planned it was effective. When God said it wasn't needed, our church says don't do any of it. I think all the churches orders to not express worship in anyway God had suggested before Christ is resulting in our spending Monday or Tues. etc. by just not worshipping. It is making us weak.

I think God loves your post. It is the very best that has ever been done on law. It is so popular to put down all written law in favor of the wonderful law in our hearts, you are showing it as it is. I think that is God speaking through you. I would like it to be thought about as something possible to follow as a path to opening up our hearts even more.

I think my question would be which ones do you think we should NOT obey?
the shadows and the ones people made up by twisting scripture that only address outward performance without inward purity or wisdom, such as the feasts, the tassles, the stoning of adulterers, the keeping of the Sabbaths, the circumcision of the flesh.
