If you have a teenage daughter, and she does something wrong, and you ground her so that she may not go hang out with her friends, does that mean she is not capable of hanging out with her friends? No, it means she does not have your permission to do so. In the same way, man and woman both sinned. Man got his punishment, and woman got her punishment.

Even though women are capable of preaching, it is part of our punishment that only men are to have this position. Even if there is no man in the worship assembly, a woman may not preach! If this were the case, a woman could teach a class before the worship assembly, and they could play a DVD of a man preaching during the worship assembling, but there is no circumstance that would allow a woman to preach in the worship assembly. What is the point of worship if not to please God right, how then can you please Him by disobeying Him? I believe the Lord will provide a man or a way, like a DVD sermon.

Did God appoint women as leaders and judges of His people? Does God change?
Yeah God changes when we "make" Him change because we don't like something. Oh wait your right God doesn't change but we make Him into our own image. Oh wait He doesn't do that either. Awww bummer I guess God wins! :)

The church should seriously research the role of the prophet instead of believing what they want. In the OT, The Holy Spirit used kings, judges, priests & prophets. The priests taught, & the prophets preached. Thus the prophetesses were the first women ministers who spoke for God.
Joel 2:28-29 (KJV) [SUP]28 [/SUP]And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: [SUP]29 [/SUP]And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

That scripture goes hand in hand with these:
Acts 1:12-14 (KJV) [SUP]12 [/SUP]Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. [SUP]13 [/SUP]And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. [SUP]14 [/SUP]These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Acts 2:1-4 (KJV) [SUP]1 [/SUP]And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [SUP]2 [/SUP]And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [SUP]4 [/SUP]And they were ALL filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

With all this, haters will still make statements like, "prophesying doesn't make a prophet". And people swallow that trash without question.

Naysayers always counter with anger, insults, & unproven statements..... & still their fruit is overlooked. You would think AT LEAST folks would see their attitudes & understand whose side they're on.

I have seen a couple women preach at our church (not head pastors. Mostly missionary women) give the sermon. You would be quite shocked really good sermons. I am not saying all women are that way but I have seen some really horrible male head pastor sermons also. One pastor actually read a chapter of a book (not the Bible) for his sermon and never once took his eyes off the book lol

I never did personally, and the women that have blessed others in the past (who were reccomended to me) just never did me. I will gravitate to a man but even a decent teacher among them just seem to be so rare today.

It's a shame isn't it. We are so far away from the Gospel it makes me wonder sometimes. Fortunately we have many wonderful churches with great preachers near us.

The issue isn't if a woman can minister in some capacity, or be an evangelist, missionary or prophecy etc., of course she can.
The issue is "does a woman have authority over a man when it comes to teaching in the assembly as a pastor?"
I believe the Scripture is clear here...

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. (1Ti 2:11-14)

Did you ever look up that particular word there too?

Oh wait I have a perfect remedy to this argument! Let's argue about who preaches rather than what is being preached! Oh wait thats what we are doing.

I would rather have a 5 year old sing Jesus Loves Me for 45 min than have some guy preach a false Gospel.

The good news, or gospel, is that Christ has redeemed us from the curse! We are freed from sin and death. We are freed from roles. Not that it says anywhere in Genesis 3 that women can't be preachers! Probably because Adam and Eve were in intimate fellowship, with God in the Garden of Eden till they sinned, and there was no Bible to preach from.

Kaycie, you have been fed a pack of egregious lies about punishment, and that a DVD is better than a Spirit filled, inspired woman preaching the wonderful news of Jesus Christ, who redeemed male and female from the hell, we so rightfully deserved.

"For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:2-4

God is in the restoration and reconciliation business. Only Christ could take our punishment, by his death on the cross and his resurrection.

"
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." 1Peter 2:24
