The church should seriously research the role of the prophet instead of believing what they want. In the OT, The Holy Spirit used kings, judges, priests & prophets. The priests taught, & the prophets preached. Thus the prophetesses were the first women ministers who spoke for God.
Joel 2:28-29 (KJV) [SUP]28 [/SUP]And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: [SUP]29 [/SUP]And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
That scripture goes hand in hand with these:
Acts 1:12-14 (KJV) [SUP]12 [/SUP]Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. [SUP]13 [/SUP]And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. [SUP]14 [/SUP]These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Acts 2:1-4 (KJV) [SUP]1 [/SUP]And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [SUP]2 [/SUP]And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [SUP]4 [/SUP]And they were ALL filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
With all this, haters will still make statements like, "prophesying doesn't make a prophet". And people swallow that trash without question.
Naysayers always counter with anger, insults, & unproven statements..... & still their fruit is overlooked. You would think AT LEAST folks would see their attitudes & understand whose side they're on.
