I agree with you completely here. The focus should never be on the commands, but the one who gave them.

Thank you. Finally some one understand what I mean.

Why do we read the Bible then? Isn't is already in our DNA? Because it gives us daily encouragement, guidance, revelation when our flesh is getting the better of us. Same thing with the Law.

Paul said the law was in our heart. Why do you want to keep bringing it up. Did he lie? As a christian, Do you need to read the law?? why? Are you unsure of what sin is?
Has Not Christ fulfilled that in you?
Well, you can try and navigate through the least in the Kingdom part, although Scripture translations may still disagree with you there. But regardless, the verse is pretty self-explanatory on who will be the greatest there.
Yep.

And does not scripture say that those who are saved WILL obey his commands?

So again, What is your argument?

KJV
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

NIV
Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

ESV
Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

NLT
So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God's laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

ASV
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

1 John 2
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. [SUP]4 [/SUP]He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [SUP]5 [/SUP]But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. [SUP]6 [/SUP]He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

[SUP]20 [/SUP]But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.[SUP][d][/SUP] [SUP]21 [/SUP]I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

1 john 3:

[SUP]6 [/SUP]Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. [SUP]7 [/SUP]Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. [SUP]8 [/SUP]He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

Any questions?

I teach some law, but it's always in the bigger picture of salvation. Law without salvation means nothing. People might "know the law", but people don't always do it. We all need reminders and encouragement on how to love, how not to sin, how to act to glorify God.
The answer to those questions is not in the law. It is in the love of Christ. The law does not tell me how not to sin, It tells me I have sinned.

That's one of the purposes of the Law.

Nope. It can do non of those things, Thats the point

(p.s. This is a fun dialogue, thanks for participating! Peace, Matt)
lol. Yes, iron sharpens iron.

Thanks for not ignoring me because we have a disagreement! or think I am just ":justifying myself"

One last analogy and then I'm off to bed. I know I've used this before, but.....

I was married 13 years ago. Legally and spiritually I am married to my wife. Do I need to still go out on dates with her, buy her gifts, clean the dishes, tell her I love her, in order to stay married? No.
Can I still be married if I don't do those things? Yes.

Will I have a very happy marriage???

I am God's because of the merciful salvation he offered me. Nothing can change that or take away from it.
Do I need to go to church, keep the Sabbath, evangelize, tithe, be baptized, eat kosher, to stay His? No.

Will I have a very happy life if I don't do those things??

Have a great night everyone!
Peace,
Matt

Moses came before Paul.
God is greater than Paul.

Their words came before Paul's.
Paul comentates on God's word, not the other way around.

Moses' words DID point to Jesus. Just because Jesus' came, doesn't mean those words aren't applicable. They're just put into a greater understanding.
yes they were

1. I have sinned. The law proves it
3. If I have not obeyed every words of the law I am cursed of God
4. The penalty of this is death
5. Anyone deserving of death is to be hung on a tree.
6. The sacrifices show me that without the shedding of blood, there can be no forgiveness.

I can go on and on, But i hope you see the point

brother, I have been trying to make sense of what some say, that the law is abolished..(which is NOT what the Bible says) but anyway, it occurred to me it might be the belief that Nostradomas had, according to some documentary. He believed that indulging in sin gave him more grace and insight and new heights of enlightenment. Well of course we know they quote Paul a lot, but even Paul said "God forbid.) on that one. anyhow, there is sure a lot of different beliefs out there. I think I will stick with the Bible.
Yes, every word from His mouth from the beginning of the world.

dude if this is the way your going to be, don't bother responding to anyone anymore, because anyone who disagrees with you would be doing it to make you look bad.

I am not trying to justify anything,

I ask you to read 1 john 8: 1 you do not even respond to it why?

news flash. I do not need to make ANYONE look bad to justify myself. I have faith in God. And everything he says about me. I do not need justification from any man. If I do. I have more problems than anyone can help
oh come on please just spit it out what is it you with this agenda with me i dont understand any of this i have not ignored yet but a couple of times i have felt close but i have forgot now and so i will try to come to some common ground what is your problem here lol your sending round the twist

well I will not ignore anyone, just keep showing the truth, You showing them truth may show someone who does not show the truth, Ignoring them is not the godly way of doing things, especially in a christian bible discussion forum.

Keep up the good work. Keep exposing the lie. Your not alone!
HOW can reporting that scripture says much scripture is obsolete, without saying what is obsolete, saying that all Moses was told was completely replaced, that learning about God in the OT is wrong and sneering at it, of not speaking of scripture but tearing other people personally down be godly!!!!! Then posts like this one saying how you know everything right and others are all wrong. It is not searching for truth at all, it is searching for self gratification.

My thought is if you try and keep the Jewish Commandments, all 613 of them, you will fail.

I hope at that point, you will become a Christian by God calling you and realizing that Christ fulfilled the law.

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.[SUP]18 [/SUP]For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. [SUP]20 [/SUP]For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matt 5:17-20

"We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; [SUP]16 [/SUP]yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified." Gal. 2:15-16

"I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose." Gal. 2:21

"O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? " Gal. 3:1-3

"For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” [SUP]11 [/SUP]Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” [SUP]12 [/SUP]But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.”[SUP]13 [/SUP]Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—
[SUP]14 [/SUP]so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith." Gal. 3:10-14

If I were the OP and wanted this question answered, I would start with Galatians. Hopefully, some of these verses might give you a clue! Then read Romans. And STOP reading the info from these cults. The Bible has all the answers and you certainly do not need to go to cults to have the Bible interpreted for you. The Holy Spirit has that job, once you are saved.
OK well at the top you mention 613 commandments of the the Jewish people.

what i suggest is this lets read through the entire new testament and see how many times the lord tels us not what to do by doing good as well like there there are many opposites of good and maybe there not completely made clear but that's the difference and maybe i can look for this but i was only implying the ten commandments in the title of my thread allthough i have not made my self clear of that i hope we can get back on topic and maybe we can all discuss with out prejudice towards the ten command by not debating all the other laws.

I have had enough of this discussion of the law now to last me a lif time this started in my first thread which was about becoming light in burden,
back then i said i dint want to talk about all 613 laws this is not my doing i quite clearly said i dint want an argument about the law because i know it nevers gets settle in here.

all i want is a good natres chat abot the ten commandment and to learn about all of god ways with fellow brothers and sister in Christ. so if i may suggest may we put away this discussion now lets move becomes brothers and sister in unity

Why do you judaizers so despise Christ giving Paul his gospel to pass along to us? Is it Paul that you hate? Do you somehow think that perhaps YOU are the one God should have chosen from your mothers womb?
Why so much resentment and hate for the new covenant the God brought to further His master plan of salvation for the world?
Do you not realize that bringing up old testament scripture to back up your erroneous doctrine makes you look foolish?
Do you not realize you are spitting in the face of salvation?
Why cling to something that was never meant for you? Why grasp at something you never had and never will have?
God talked to the jews in the old testament and they wouldn't listen. I suppose in a sense you are like the old testament jews, because God is now talking to you in the new testament and you refuse to listen.

The one wedding guest was not wearing appropriate clothing for the wedding, thus he was cast out, bound, into the outer darkness where there is weeping and grinding of teeth.

Being called by Yeshua, we are invited to the great wedding feast, however if we do not prepare our garments for such, we will also be treated as the guest who had no wedding garment.

Garments are the works of the saints. Are you preparing yours?
It seems the very foremost of works is obedience, or do you believe the Ten Commandments engraved first by Göd, Himself, are to be put aside?

Have you read the Word? I could go into great detail, but you have been teaching your understanding so much, I think you already know.

Where does the bible say that?

The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.
They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.

-Psalm 19:7-10 (NASB)

As Mark Twain once quipped, “Naked people have little or no influence on society”.
Didn't realize Mark Twain was in the bible. Tell me, exactly what edition are you using?
