Matt 16:24Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.25"For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.…Sounds like work to me....
Evidently the faith onlyist do not think this verse (among many more) apply to them.

Naaman being healed of leprosy had nothing to do with soul salvation and Campbell taught the same heresy you teach....so.......keep contradicting yourself and trusting into works and water...neither of which have anything to do with biblical salvation!
I did not say Naaman being healed had to do with his salvation. I used Naaman as a biblical example of God's grace requiring a work yet that work in dipping earned Naaman nothing.

Naaman was UNDER the LAW which had certain requirements and again the cleansing of a LEPER had nothing at all to do with biblical salvation......you need to get some glasses and start actually reading the bible instead of regurgitating Alexander Campbell's heresy...serious before you end up in the smoking section!

YOU ARE AVOIDING THE POINT!!!

It's the faith onlyist that are the ones who cannot give a biblical based, logical reason why God's free gift of grace came to Naaman attached with a WORK. The ones who cannot explain why Naaman must have done the work of dipping in order to receive that free gift of grace of healing.

Just because you bold something means nothing...How about this I can make things big as well...FAITH IS ALSO CALLED A SPIRITUAL GIFT...ONE OF THREE REMAINING 1ST CORINTHIANS 13

I suggest you pray and seek the Jesus of the bible instead of the pseudo Jesus of Alexander Campbell
A post with no biblical, logical refutation - just unnecessary complaints and name calling.

see, by grace through faith for good works is the key. when you get these out of order, it produces a works-based salvation, which you have there seabass. right track wrong train.
Would Naaman have received God's free gift of grace WITHOUT WORKS?

Naaman had a disease. God owed Naaman nothing but by God's grace or "UNMERITED FAVOR" Naaman could be healed IF IF IF IF IF he went CONDITIONALLY went and dipped in the river 7 times.
His going and dipping was work but that work earned him nothing but that work was
a NECESSARY CONDITION
attached to God's free gift of grace.
So God's hands were tied until Nathan dipped in the river 7 times?

Nope. . .God had a much bigger and better purpose than placing "conditions"
on receiving his gift of healing.

Nathan was God's object lesson of the saving gospel in his Son,
where healing would be cleansing (of sin).

Nope, I agree with Paul. Paul never says anything that contradicts the fact God's grace required works on Naaman's part but those works earn nothing.

So the question still stands: Would Naaman have received God's free gift of grace WITHOUT WORKS?

God's hands were never tied. God, simply out of His good grace, offered a free gift of healing to Naaman. It was up to Naaman to accept or reject that gift and God's hands were not tied no matter what Naaman chose to do.

The issue is would Naaman received God's free gift WITHOUT WORKS?

But God told him to go and dip to be cleansed.

So did God put Naaman in a "catch-22" where Naaman had to dip to be cleansed but if he dipped, God would then accuse Naaman of boasting?
Was Nathan's dipping a matter of salvation?

Nope. . .no catch 22 in boasting of contributing to one's salvation (Eph 2:8-9).

I never said Naaman's dipping was about salvation but I am using Naaman as an EXAMPLE of works being necessary to receive God's free gift with those works earning Naaman nothing.

So how can anyone biblically, logically argue that any and all works automatically means one is trying to earn something?

Since Naaman's being healed by grace came with the "string" attached of dipping/working, then it was not really a free gift?
Nope. . .was a free gift. . .no strings attached. . .God using Naamans' healing as an object lesson, not of salvation conditioned on works (contrary to the gospel of his Son), but of the saving gospel of his Son, where healing is cleansing (of sin).

If you understood the NT correctly, you would see this.

Does not matter. It is a biblical example of works required to receive God's free gift.

NT example? Jesus owed the blind man nothing but spat upon the ground making a potion to put in the eyes then CONDITIONALLY REQUIRED the blind man to go to the pool and wash his eyes to be healed.

Would the blind man receive this free gift of sight WITHOUT the WORK of going and washing his eyes?

Mk 2:5 "Jesus saw their faith" What Jesus saw and is called "faith" is the work the men did before Jesus' eyes

1 Thess 1:3 remembering your "WORK of faith"
Jerking phrases out of Scripture because they contain the words you are looking for do not an exegesis make.

Work of faith is the resulting obedience of the faith alone which saved them.

Uh, it is the false man-made teaching of faith only that blinds people to the simpliest of things as free gifts coming with attached conditions.
To the blind they do appear as conditions.

To those who have eyes that see, they are so much more than a paltry condition.

They are are a divine revelation of the nature of the gospel in his Son.
