What you fail to understand is the simple fact that Paul is writing unto people who are already saved and that the just shall live by faith.....A person who has been REGENERATED and BORN of the SPIRIT is eternally sealed and saved and after salvation a person can do one of two things....walk faithfully before God or be rebellious....Rebellion leads to chastisement and Faithfulness leads to continual blessing by God.....and why not quote the whole context instead of one verse out of context which has nothing at all to do with the eternal life as found in Christ by those who believe!
Hey Dc we have been telling seabass the same thing for quite some time. Have a look at skinski7 posts. I think it's their time to try to help seabass understand.

You are right on the money.

Check this out...

1Pe 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

and

1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

That is why Jesus died on that cross.

2 Cor 5:21 is saying the same thing...

2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
2Co 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

The actual MEANS (mention also in 2Cor 5:1) is via...

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Here is another passage...

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Jesus did not give Himself to pay a sin debt as the sinners substitute as many believe. Nor did Jesus live an obedient life because we cannot whereby His righteousness is credited to our account. Those are lies of Satan and the lies of the ministers of Satan.

Jesus gave Himself for us to effect a total transformation of our heart via presenting the means of the New Covenant which we enter into by His blood in repentance and faith. This is EXACTLY what it teaches in Hebrews...

Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Heb 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Heb 10:21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Instead of having some priest of the Old Testament approaching God on our behalf with an animal sacrifice we approach God directly with a TRUE HEART via the blood and can be cleansed once and for all. That is why there is a warning in Hebrews that says this...

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

If we keep on sinning after being truly cleansed then we are mocking the cleansing process as being ineffectual. Jesus did not die for ongoing sin but rather to cleanse us from all sin leaving us in a pure state.

Heb 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Heb 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Jesus died to put in effect the New Covenant, it was the death of the testator. The blood of Christ is God's signature so to speak. We are enjoined into covenant with God by the blood of Jesus.

The wolves in the pulpits never examine these verses. They might snip a single verse out of its context and pile a bunch of rhetoric upon it whereby they twist it into a proof text for the Penal Substitution legal exchange. There is no support whatsoever for Penal Substitution in the Bible whatsoever. That doctrine was invented 500 years ago by the Reformers.

So many people believe the lies because it makes them comfortable and absolutely refuse to examine the scriptures. Jesus said this...

Joh 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Joh 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

People refuse to do this...

Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Instead of doing that they...

1. Confess their sinfulness.
2. Trust that Jesus paid their sin fine on their behalf whereby it is no longer due and trust that Jesus also obeyed on their behalf to make up for their shortcomings.
3. Receive the free gift of salvation in which they feel secure.

All the while the heart stays exactly the same, wicked to the core because they never truly repented and therefore received nothing, except a delusion in the mind.

Salvation is not a free gift, it costs one everything. The "means of salvation" is the free gift. "Saved by grace THROUGH faith" is the free gift and we all have the opportunity to utilise it. "Eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ" is the free gift and we all have the opportunity to enter into that.

In other words a person gets saved and is eternally secure and will go to the kingdom no matter what they do. Salvation is this positional abstraction which has nothing to do with a transformed heart and thus one can just keep on sinning.

Saved people can even rape babies and murder people and will just receive chastisement in this world instead of blessings.

1Co 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Paul warned...

Eph 5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Eph 5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
Eph 5:5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

John warned...

Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Jesus taught...

Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.


People just don't believe the Bible. They actually believe they can sin and not surely die and will oppose those who oppose such a message.

Good is called evil today and evil is called good. Truly things are upside down.

The meaning of the Greek word repentance is "change of mind."

It's cause and its results are not in its definition.

Sin = Two different kinds. 1. Rebellion to God ie. doing wrong when you know it is wrong, this has stopped with a Christian. 2. Sins of
ignorance ie. doing wrong ignorantly, these sins are to be confessed and addressed by a Christian as they grow.
The rebellion of all mankind, prior to faith, is unbelief.

All sin of the born again is forgiven and purified by confession (1Jn 1:8-10).

I was deceived too for over a decade.

I was a Calvinist without knowing what a Calvinist was. I was primarily deceived by Stewart Best, Paul Washer and David Eells. I lapped up their material like it was nothing else until I was actually compelled to actually read the different books of the Bible as a WHOLE instead of focusing on proof texts.

The lie is built by taking little tid bits from here and there and putting them together to build a lie. The verses are completely ripped out of their context. The entire lie is firmly established on the Original Sin doctrine.

The lie is like an onion with layer upon layer. Each underlying layer affirms the next layer and thus there is an inbuilt defence mechanism. That is why people can debate the outer layers like OSAS vs nonOSAS and never get anywhere because they will come up against deeper layers which assert the upper layers.

By going for the root of the lie and breaking it down the whole thing collapses.

What you fail to understand cannot even be listed as it would take another 50 pages of text, but I will list a few...

1. There is NONE good as ALL are sinners and sin EVEN after biblical salvation.
2. To break the least commandment of the LAW makes one GUILTY of the whole
3. GOOD WORKS do not save, add to salvation, keep you saved as the GOOD WORKS come from JESUS and NOT YOU
4. The question has been answered numerous times by numerous people and in context and yet you are blind to the truth, will continue to be blind to the truth and will die still believing in you COC works for salvation.
5. Galatians teaches clearly that a MAN is saved and justified by the perfect FAITH of JESUS and ANY MAN, RELIGION, GROUP that ADDS WORKS teaches a heretical, false gospel which is NOT THE SAME gospel that is being taught by PAUL and is double cursed to HELL
6. You better open your eyes as you teach a false gospel and are found under the banner of a false teacher and it will not be good for you when you take your last breath...SERIOUS.....you should take your head out of the religious SAND and open your eyes to the truth before it is too late..

Grace is unconditional. I think you are just confused with the terms.

Think of grace as a road map which it to be followed. Faith is the following. Salvation is the destination.

Thus one can receive the road map but refuse to follow it and never read the destination.

Calvinists teach that grace is an irresistible pull
that drags unwilling people to a destination by
making them willing.
And that would be a bad thing to you?

No wonder you don't believe the gospel of free grace, you don't even like free grace.

I say, "Praise God for making me willing, because I would never have been on my own."

What a strange response to God's work of changing a heart and making it willing.

They teach it this way because they believe in Total Depravity which teaches that
human beings are born disabled in regards to being able to obey God.
Yeah, they got it from Paul's description of the absolute spiritual powerless
of the sinful unregenerate nature of man in Ro 8:7-8.

Shame on them for believing the word of God!

Thus grace to these people is a disability offset not a road map.
What a deficient view of the power of God's grace from the foolish notions of human reasoning.

They perceive grace more as a kidnapper who grabs you and takes you to the destination.
Praise God for the kidnapping and the destination to which it takes me!

The stupidity is not in the NT word of God, it's manifestly in Skinski7ism.

and is full of contradictions. I think the bottom line though is that it is a theology in which people never have to take responsibility for their actions because "God does it all." Thus all responsibility it put upon God and they just wait and see what happens. That way one can be "partially obedient" as they see fit and mix worldliness with their Christianity.
Skinski7ism demonstrates here where the stupidity really lies.

SeaBass, you're looking at this verse the mainstream way, but the verse could easily mean,

He was wounded and bruised for our sins (because He came here to teach us to repent and have faith in God and He was tortured and killed by men because of it.)

In other words, "I came because they are sinners and they killed Me."

But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. Jn.15:25
But that is not the meaning. The broader context says Isa 53:4,5 "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

Christ's wounds and bruises was for our healing. Isa 53:6 goes on to say "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

The context shows me Jesus did not do all this suffering for Himself but did it for you, me and everyone else. He suffered for OUR healing, He hath borne OUR griefs, the Lord laid on Him OUR iniquity.

Heb 9:28 "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."

I cut the rest out because you, like everyone else who believes in works for salvation added to, embellished and stated something that I did not say so what does that make you.....?

Second, if we say that we have NO SIN (PRESENT CONTEXT) then we are a what?

Third...a saved CHILD OF GOD can and does sin, but does not live a continual LIFESTYLE of sin...

WAS DAVID a saved child of GOD after GOD'S on heart and mind when he commited adultery and then Killed URIAH so he could have BATHSHEBA? YES and as a child of God he paid the price in his PHYSICAL life by the CHASTENING HAND OF GOD, but STILL REMAINED a child of God...

You know when you add to someone's word and accuse them of saying something that they did not say that makes you a liar....so now that you broke the what 7th or 8th commandment and sinned does that mean you lost your salvation?

Works are works and your twist here of words sets forth the ignorance of your approach to doctrine dude.....and again you totally miss the mark on the James text as the whole context of JAMES is SHOW ME YOUR FAITH...PAUL clearly teaches that A MAN WILL NOT BE JUSTIFIED BEFORE GOD BY WORKS OF righteousness SO keep on twisting and wresting the word to your own demise.

What Paul says:
1) ye were the servants of sin
2) but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
3) Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Note the order of events? Note how Paul put obeying from the heart BEFORE BEFORE BEFORE being made free from sin and servant of righteousness.

Grace is the divine influence on our hearts, not salvation. Salvation is the destination, grace is the means of getting there when it is combined with a working faith.

Here is the definition from Strong's...

Grace - charis
From G5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude): - acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy).
Here is what the Bible teaches of it...

Yes that is right. Faith is wholeheartedly yielding to the grace of God. The commandments and exhortations of Jesus Christ are all part of God's grace as well as the light of conscience. Faith is therefore what makes grace effectual to the saving of the soul. Believing in and obeying is the same thing as wholeheartedly yielding because one truly believes and agrees.

That's sanctification after salvation (past).
No it isn't. Sanctification is the growth to maturity with an ALREADY pure heart. The heart is made pure through repentance and faith because the iniquity within is purged once and for all.

Peter here is speaking to babes (1Pet 2:2) in Christ...

1Pe 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

The babes in Christ are pure, they just don't know much. Sanctification is when we grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. It is not about sinning less or being wicked less. The wickedness has ceased or one is still under condemnation.

Yes salvation is from the wrath of God but that is not all it is. That verse you allude to says this...

Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

We are justified by His blood because it is by the blood we approach God with a true heart and are then washed clean...

That verse in Romans says we are saved THROUGH Him, that is we are saved via the dynamic of abiding in the Spirit of His life. You omit that from your gospel.

What you leave out of your gospel message is "saved FROM sin."

You instead teach you get "saved IN sin" and thus the sin continues after salvation. That is why you NEVER discuss purity of heart. You cannot discuss purity of heart because a pure heart and sinning don't mix. Thus you have to ignore heart purity and argue in favour of sinning.

The salvation you believe in is not salvation at all. Even David made reference to a heart devoid of guile in relation to the forgiveness of sins...

Psa 32:1 A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Psa 32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
The salvation you teach is merely a cloak for ongoing guile because you believe that the flesh is sinful. You preach a weak and ineffectual salvation which leaves people still enslaved to sin just freed from condemnation. It is a total deception which tickles the ears of sinners who refuse to forsake their sin.

The meaning of the Greek word repentance is change of mind.

It's cause and its results are not in its definition.
This is an example where you throw reason right out the window. A changed mind necessitates results and that is why Paul preached...

Act 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

It is impossible to repent and turn to God and keep on sinning and turning away from God. All through the Bible deeds are connected to repentance. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, John the Baptist, Jesus, Paul, Peter, James all connected changed deeds with a changed mind.

You cannot serve Satan with your deeds and serve God with your mind and be saved. No. Such a thing is worldy sorrow. Look at what Paul writes about godly sorrow...

2Co 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
2Co 7:11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

Godly sorrow produces all those things listed in verse 11. The reason Paul would preach repentance proven by deeds was to ensure that the repentance in people was real. Just like how James connects faith and works together, there cannot be one without the other.

This is all very simple. Why would you want to teach a repentance where nothing changes? Do you really want a doctrine where child molesters can enter the kingdom still molesting children? That is insane.

All sin of the born again is forgiven and purified by confession (1Jn 1:8-10).
Sin if forgiven on the condition we are walking in the light.

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

You ought not snip select verses and ignore the surrounding context. 1 Joh 1:8-10 do not exist in a vacuum.

One cannot be engaging in wickedness and be walking in the light at the same time. That is impossible.

The false gospel asserts that one can be engaged in wickedness and cleansed because they assert "saved IN sins" and deny "saved FROM sin" like the Bible teaches.

That is why I can quote Romans chapter 6 and no-one who opposes "saved FROM sin" will comment on those verses. Look at all the replies to my posts and there are Biblical passages like Romans 6 which people will not touch. Why is that?

People stick to their out of context proof texts and completely ignore much of the Bible. That is why I call them Bible Butchers.

No what she is saying is simple and correct...and unrighteous murdering thief who acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus by faith was saved and went with the LORD to paradise.....just because you erroneously believe in works does not alleviate the truth of what she posted!

The thief was repentant, can one who refuses to conditionally repent still be saved? Does Jesus contradict Himself Lk 13:3,5?

Yeah about as amazing as one who rejects the simple truth to add his own works to the equation...A free gift is exactly that a free gift....it is that simple concept that is tainted by your works for pseudo gospel.....you cannot work for a gift that has been given already....The work was done from the foundation of the world........!

Did Naaman merit his healing by doing the work of going and dipping therefore God's grace had nothing to do with it? Yes? No?

What Paul says:
1) ye were the servants of sin
2) but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
3) Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Note the order of events? Note how Paul put obeying from the heart BEFORE BEFORE BEFORE being made free from sin and servant of righteousness.
Maybe you should study as the word obeyed mean to pay attention to, pay heed to , to be attentive to and to confirm and has nothing to do with WORKS or OBEYING A COMMAND in order to receive something that is free and a gift....

Again your COC works for salvation taints your view, blinds your eyes and will take you some place that you do not want to go!
