Here is the bottom line once again to cut through all the obfuscation.
Jesus preached...
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
That verse is presented within the context of Jesus teaching on inward righteousness versus a mere outward form (ie. lust in the heart is still adultery, hate in the heart is still murder).
The chief criticism of Jesus to the Pharisees was about the condition of their hearts...
Mat 23:26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Mat 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Mat 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Thus Jesus taught...
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus gave himself for us to...
Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Jesus was incarnated to...
Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
We are saved from sin via...
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Notice that the "service of sin" ceases. This aligns with...
Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Joh 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Jesus Christ sets us free from the service of sin and thus we are saved from the law of sin and death which is if you sin you die.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
This is why the opposite of the "wages of sin is death" is "eternal life through Jesus Christ" because...
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Which is how our righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees.
Which is why...
Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
And why...
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
Now people are free to reject all the above and argue in favour of ongoing sin in salvation, a salvation in which they are not saved from sin, all they like. What they believe is simply not true and what they believe will send them to hell because they have rejected what Jesus actually taught and thus refuse to do it.
The Bible is very clear and simple to understand on these things. All one has to have is an honest heart in order to understand it.
