you did not answer my next Q? about works? are we to do anything after we are saved ?
Yes for sure...a saved child of God will submit to the word which will bear fruit (works) without a doubt...

James clearly teaches that the faith which we have can be seen by men based upon our work period, but the work is not what saves us or keeps us saved....

Noah was JUST and UPRIGHT and his faith is seen in the fact that he believed God and built the ark...
Abraham had faith before he had circumcision, yet in faith summited to the act of circumcision...
Rahab had faith in the God of Israel and the faith was seen in her hiding the two spies..

Like Paul said....we are justified (rendered legally innocent) by faith apart form the works of the law...

Faith saves
Faith also produces works as a tree shall be known by the fruit that it bears...having said that an apple tree is an apple tree long before it bears fruit....it is an apple tree from the SEED and yet has to grow and mature a bit before it bears fruit.

I am a child of God by BIRTH based upon FAITH I.E. the FAITH of JESUS Galatians 2:16-21, Galatians 3:22, 24, 26, Philippians 3:9, Ephesians 2:8-9<---that not of yourselves is directed at the word FAITH

No one I know who believes the above will tell you that you do not have to serve God after genuine saving faith....

1st Corinthians 3 covers faithful and unfaithful saved believers...

Faithful-->works of gold, silver and precious stones awarded abundantly in God's Kingdom a vessel of honor
Unfaithful saved-->works of wood, hay and stubble, saved yet so as by fire (skin of their teeth) vessel of dishonor

EVEN faith is a piece of spiritual fruit......

Interesting to note that many will claim works, prophetic utterances and the casting out of evil spirits and Jesus will say...I never knew you<----goes to the root of salvation and trying to come by another door other than Jesus and faith!

you teach faith without works...the scripture teaches faith without works is dead...

James 2:14-17English Standard Version (ESV)
[h=3]Faith Without Works Is Dead[/h][SUP]14 [/SUP]What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? [SUP]15 [/SUP]If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, [SUP]16 [/SUP]and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good[SUP][a][/SUP] is that? [SUP]17 [/SUP]So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

No I teach the truth and you miss the context of James which is SHOW ME YOUR FAITH....Go read Romans chapter three and jive your works for salvation with what Paul wrote.....Therefore we conclude that a man is justified (rendered legally innocent)by faith WITHOUT THE DEEDS OF THE LAW (WORKS)....wake up before you find yourself attempting to come by some other door and get cast out for boasting in your works over the faith of Jesus.....

Here is the misconception....Eph 2:8,9 tell us its by faith not of works. This could be taken to an extreme which works proponents accuse faith alone proponents of. We are not saying "don't do good works". That would be against what the Bible tells us. James tell us that our faith should be shown by the "good" that we do.

For example if we see someone in need of food we should help IF we are able because of our faith in God. If we were to completely ignore that person our faith would mean nothing.

Our faith in God should be seen, by others, by the good we do. Now on the other side if we do good works to kind of "show off" our faith that's equally as bad.

We are justified by our faith which should be shown by the good we do.

Is that understandable?

Makes complete sense unless you take scriptures out of context and trust yourself instead of the faith of Jesus.....Ooooo look at me and what I can do....I am so righteous and good that Jesus needs my works to help him save me and keep me saved.....NOT OF WORKS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST! MAKES ME PUKE for sure...How people distort the simplistic message of Jesus and what he has done for sure...to think we can add to or supplement what Jesus has done is a slap in the face of God and states clearly that God is not strong enough or good enough to keep his word to us for sure!

I wonder if they understand it but maybe they don't accept it.How can they have a heart that hard to soften enough to let the knowledge of the truth in.

Acts 4:11,12 "This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (NJKV)

I only know that "name" isn't mine.

Of course, it is.

And that has been explained ad nauseum.

It's not about lack of explaining or lack of understanding.

It's about lack of belief.

Just think...all knees will crack and bow and every tongue will confess to the glory of God....Jesus is the only mediator between God the Father and men for sure......

Jesus IS LORD and I confess this with my mouth...might as well bow NOW willingly instead of being forced for sure.....!

I've sometimes mentioned carrying a corpse, all the Jew-lite stuff they purport to believe in. (Note most of them bicker on CC through every sabbath or feast day...) I don't know how many of you know the allusion of this verse in Paul's teachings on the law,
....

Lovely, those commanding or proselytizing Hebrew roots and wallowing in the Torah...
I am one of those "Jew-lites," thank your bigotry, and I don't think that that works are ever going to bring anyone grace. When Messiah voluntarily gave up his life for me, he gave me a gift, and if I accept that gift, I am bathed in the blood and washed clean of my sin from that gift.

What happens after I've accepted the gift? Do I go back to living life the way all the world does? Do I just keep trucking on and behaving in sinful ways, ignoring the commands as I go? Do I pretend that the only books that matter in the Bible begin with Matthew? Messiah said to go, and sin no more, not go, and be as you were. If I continue living my life in sin, his sacrifice was for nothing. Faith, without works, is dead.

No doubt......and for sure I acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus and I am a lowly servant who is unworthy of the least of His mercies........I am the dog that licks from the crumbs that fall from the master's table and like the man that beat upon his breast and for sure like the Roman commander not worthy that the Lord should come under my roof.....Thank the Lord for his mercy and grace which are renewed daily for sure......!

can't you figure it out ?...where in the verse does it say saved by faith?.....it is by grace through faith .....The gospel was preached to us for the obedience of faith...

Romans 16:25-27King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
[SUP]26 [/SUP]But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

[SUP]27 [/SUP]To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
Doxology
25 Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages 26 but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith---27 to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.
new covenant ,started when. (30 ad )
ware dose it say, commandments. but command ,what he spoke, ie what he tell you to do, in faith. (rhema) voice.
