amen, we have alot of white washed coffins and dead bones today who think they will make it to heaven based on what they have done, but will get a rude awakening when they find out their works were for naught, That is why the pharisees were so angry, That is what Christ told them all their works (circumcision, sacrifices, sabaath etc etc) were worth, because they trusted their works, Not God.
You know...it seems so obvious to me when Jesus said...MANY will come to me in that day saying....HAVE we not done many wonderful works in your name....Jesus will tell them...I never knew you...he does not say that they did not do the works in the name of Jesus, but rather that he did not know them which goes to the root of their supposed salvation.....I have a hard time understanding how people who believe in works for salvation cannot comprehend that works do not save, but are in reality evidences of a salvation that is a present reality based upon faith......!

It goes right along with eternal security (which they all profess is of the devil).

Jesus said, I never knew you! They were never saved, they did not lose it, You can not lose what you never had!

where does the scripture say faith produces work?...I have shown you where it says faith without works is dead....faith is not a production line....
If we have the Holy Spirit newbirth ... We will bear the gifts, our works are by default of having the Holy Spirit, we have a choice to reject these gifts and follow our own carnal thinking, but if the Spirit is with us, we will bear the fruit.

This whole comment just goes to prove you have no idea what faith is.

If someone tells you to do something, and you do not trust them (faith) you will not do what they ask. (unless your forced)

If you trust them, No one will have to tell you to do anything, or force you, you will do it.

God will not force you to do anything, so if you do not trust him, Your not going to do anything, or if you do, you will do it for a reason which does not glorify God but self. If you do trust him (like abraham, Paul, And all the other great men of faith) no one will have to force you to do it, You will do it, no questions asked.

We are saved by faith, as Paul said, NOT OF WORKS. lest any one should boast (be proud, or take credit) Those saved, will do the work God created them to do (eph 2: 10), Those not saved, will either not do work, or do them, but not the way God said, Like say baptism. You can boast of your baptism, thus if baptism is required for salvation. You are saved by works, s you can boast.

Eph 2: 8-10 proves water baptism is not essential. Because you can boast, or take credit, for earning the gift of God.
we are saved by grace through faith...you keep quoting what you believe not what the word says....
according to you ....
You will do it, no questions asked.
why do you question water baptism? or you do not believe Peter...you are saying to God you don't want his gift this way you have a better way...and you don't want his promise because you have to work for it...
[SUP]
38 [/SUP]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

[SUP]39 [/SUP]For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

you say it by default ...then you say it is by choice...which is it? you can't have it both ways...

if it is by default it is not choice but reaction you have no power over it so you are not responsible...if it is by choice you have control over the decision you make so you are responsible...

Funny you should say that, That is what I have been saying, if you would read it, you would see it.

Not only do you not only know what faith is, you do not understand grace. If it is grace, it is not works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. those are pauls words not mine.

lol.. Sorry bud.

Repent and baptise are different forms of the words, One is second person, one is third person. Linguistically, they can not be put in the same place.

He is telling EVERYONE TO REPENT and they will get the gift of the HS. He is only telling certain people to be baptised. those who recieved remission of sin.

Again, I am not dissing baptism, God demands it, We should do it. Just like we should do ALL of what he says, Not just one little thing.

I am dissing those trying to replace the baptism of God with the baptism of (performed by) men.

Amen with this as well...again it comes down to ignoring words, definitions, verb tenses, statements in context, etc. This seems to be the norm for those who will teach works/immersion for salvation.........!

Amen to this and I will say that a tree will be known by the fruit that it bears........A child of God will have at least 1 piece of fruit on the tree that identifies the tree as being from God. The fruits of the spirit give insight for sure......!

Oh I totally agree for sure......salvation is eternal and forever settled based upon the completed work of Christ.......it cannot be gained nor lost by works......Works of Gold, silver precious stones and or wood, hay and stubble.....a vessel of honor and one of dishonor....and you know I believe once saved always saved as Ecclesiastes 3:14 states clearly that whatsoever God does it is eternal...Nothing added nor nothing taken away and he does this so men will fear him......

That is rich coming from someone who cannot admit their own heretical doctrine of works/water for salvation......while ignoring proof upon proof upon proof.....almost funny if it wasn't so tragic!

what error?

If we are saved by faith alone, and not works. Then we MUST be saved by grace. It is assumed, because it can not be earned bu by trusting in someone else work.

again, if you understood grace and faith, you would understand this, and not make yourself look bad.

wow. I talk about twisting.

1stoff. grace is from God, it is called mercy. it is not a work. so your going to james is quite commical.

2nd, and has been proven to you over and over, no faith no salvation. Faith PRODUCES WORK.. work does not produce faith.. since salvation is by grace through faith. then it CAN NOT BE BY WORKS.

Your a funny little headless chicken. You been running in circles. And notice how you only quote one part of the passage "saved by grace". How about you read the rest of the passage. How about you actually write the rest of the passage here because it does say "not by works".

Amen and he keeps falling back to a partial quote from James being oblivious to the obvious truth that eternal salvation comes by faith...

HE that believeth on the SON hath EVERLASTING LIFE....quite simple for sure........doesn't as water, works, back flipping down the isle etc. And on top of that...Galatians teaches clearly....add works to faith to (gain) salvation equals a gospel of a different kind, no power to save and double cursed to hell......

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that BELIEVE......no works or water added.......going to be a lot of people who die trusting in their works and water that end up in an extremely hot place that is liquid deprived.

Re: NO MAN CAN SAVE HIMSELF; CHRIST IS THE SAVIOR

THE SAVE YOURSELF CANARD:

It misquote scriptures to quote "save yourself from this crooked generation"; no one can save himself. "Save yourself" is a mistranslation for a passive verb, BE SAVED. Also, it is not be saved from Hell, but from this crooked generation. It doesn't even say, "Be saved from Hell to go to Heaven."

Σώθητε ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς τῆς σκολιᾶς ταύτης.

Σώθητε = BE SAVED (PASSIVE)
ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς = from the generation
τῆς σκολιᾶς = the crooked
ταύτης = this.

Christ is the SAvior. The believer is the saved (passive), the savee.

You can no more save yourself than you can lift yourself by your own bootstraps.
Amen and I agree with this as well......it is obvious when you look at the actual wording and in context, yet the ones believing they can save themselves are trusting into themselves over Jesus and his perfect complete faith for sure....It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that BELIEVE....period....have faith into the work of Christ = biblical salvation!
