Yes and Philippians 3 make it clear vr 12:not as though i had already attained, either were already perfect...:)
Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

It is very dangerous to search the Scriptures only to find those verses you think validate your own sin. If we desire to validate sin, we ought to examine ourselves and see if we are in the faith. Christ was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him is no sin. Obedient children are not always looking for loopholes & making excuses. Let us not lie to ourselves, lest the Lord give us over to strong delusion.

Did Paul attain a level of sinlessness?
1 Corinthians 11
1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ

He would not have said to follow him as he follows Christ if he wasn't following Christ perfectly.
2nd Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
Paul tell us not to compare ourselves with each other, but to look at him as our example
Philippians 3
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

Paul tells us to make example of him and others, so not only Paul, but also others attained a state of sinlessness.

Here we see Paul stating that he had in effect attained.
2nd Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Living sinlessly for 1 or 5 or 10 oe 20 does not automatically give us eternal life remaining faith unto our death does. However living sinlessly is commandment from God to us. Furthermore God promises us that we are able to keep this command.

God promises us through His word that we can defeat sin, if we look closely at the word of God. There are many many promises that deal with that fact.

We are told that "in every temptation, God will make a way of escape that we will be able to bear it".

God said "sin shall not have dominion over you".

I literally can list twenty more...reckon yourself dead unto sin and alive unto God ''praise be to God who always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus, lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil'' and so forth.

I firmly believe we have mistakenly missed why he has saved us (to set us free) "You shall call His name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins" (now, in this life) to preserve us blameless unto the coming of the Lord. In the Bible, we are told "He that commits sin is the servant of sin, and the servant abides not in the house forever. But whom the Son sets free is free indeed."

We are told by Jesus Himself "Without me, you can do nothing." yet in the writings of Paul we are told "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.". Is this perhaps what Jesus meant when he expressed his deep concern that "when the Son of man returns, will he find faith on the earth?" Do we believe (have faith in) these promises of God for our lives?

Personally speaking, the sins that make up my personal "Achilles heel", not unlike yours, are not small ones that God turns a blind eye at. However He has promised us freedon from these vices. I have found as that His promises are meant for even the most wretched...and they work. This faith of who we are in Christ is what constitutes our shield spoken of in Ephesians 6, "wherewith we shall quench ALL the fiery darts of the wicked one".

I hope this explanation at least opens up the door for dialog. I fully understand the potential for controversy with this teaching. It goes against all that we have been taught, that we slowly change from the old man to the new by a lifelong, never ending process. I believe we can reach a point of sinlessness where we truly do pratake of the divine nature of Christ, able to fully escape the corruption of this world. I contend that the only way the process can work as God intends is when we obey him and believe that "you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit if the spirit dwells in you.", and that ''it is not we that live, but Christ that lives in us''

I believe that if we are truly experiencing the new covenant, then we will have complete victory over sin. To be a full grown son, we must be made free. I believe Jesus has made us free, all we must do now is walk in our freedom. When people say that we are not to make sin a habit, but yet everyone sins, and will not be completely freed from sin until the resurrection. They do not truly believe (have faith in the fact) that the Son can make us free indeed.

We are given the promise of freedom from sin how do we begin to walk in that freedom? By knowing Christ and who we are in Him and to Him.
2nd Peter 1
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So if we sin then we are not free but still bound, but Jesus came to free us.
John 8
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Romans 6: 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life

Whoever sins is a servant of sin, but Jesus came to free us, and if we are truly free indeed then we would live no longer in sin.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
If this was true and we are dead to self and sin, and it is Christ who live in us then we would indeed live a sin free life.

Who is validating sin. And my verses were an answer to you post. And answering posts with an answer and scripture is more than you will apparently do.

Nice rant tho :)

No modification of any behavior can save you, only Christ can make us free indeed

You are trying to perform a tightrope act here and I don't think you can quite do it. If you sin what are you? Its ok you can say it, everyone already knows... Only a liar would say that they don't sin. But you ARE correct in saying only satan would try and condemn a person in their sins. In Christ there is therefore now no condemnation. Because He loves us and forgives our sins. Jesus didn't come for the righteous, right? He came for sinners. He came for me. And He came for you. The truth is the truth no matter how you try and squirm away from it. The faster you turn to the light, the sooner you will repent and be saved. But most importantly, be saved.

God Bless You

Being free indeed in relationship to sin has to do with the bondage of sin and not being yoked up with sin. That does not mean that we are perfect in our experience, but if we sin, we are not in bondage and we can confess that sin instantly and be forgiven and restored without being yoked up with the effects of sin. Prior to being saved by the grace of God, we were in bondage to every form of sin and were not clean. But now we have been cleansed and sin does not have an attachment to us because of the blood of Christ and the access we have been given to the throne of grace to obtain mercy through our priesthood.

I mean it you are very bright and skilled in the word. Remember to rest in the Lord too
and doctrinally leave a little room for error. Surprisingly we grow and things change, its
part of the plan.:)

I agree (not the Im bright part) that we must rest in the Lord, and leave room for error.

I wrote a lesson on the concept from Watchman Nee's book ''Sit, Walk Stand''. It is actually a commentary on the book of Ephesians.

The first step in anyone's walk has to be to sit/ resting in what the Lord has done.

I totally agree with this, and emboldened a very important part of your statement ''IF WE SIN''. If we sin we have an advocate, but that doesnt mean we have to sin

I have a modo '' If we are bound to sin, then we are bound by sin''

There is a fierce battle that takes place between the flesh patterns of our old man (which are "bent" toward sin) and the renewed spirit of our new man (which is submissive to the Lordship of Jesus). Paul described this conflict when he said, "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice." (Romans 7:18-19).

We have to mature spiritually. God purges/disciplines us...
Hebrews 12:6-10: "For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness"

God uses suffering to reveal our spiritual condition...our spiritual character. You really do not know the truth about someone spiritually when everything is going well, right? It doesn't surface because basically they appear to be at peace and happy and with a measure of joy and satisfaction and fulfillment in life because superficially and on the surface everything is okay. Then when things begin to go wrong, reality begins to surface as to their spiritual condition. And the worse things get, the more their spiritual character is un-bared. When you strip away the blessings, and you strip away the successes and you strip away the prosperity and you strip away the health and you begin to peel it all back, then you're going to find out what somebody is really made of spiritually.

We need to build a closer relationship with God, by praying to him everyday, having faith in him, reading his word, following him, walking in the spirit (be filled/controlled by the Holy Spirit)... Ephesians 5:18, James 4:7-8, 1 Peter 2:2.

Some reasons why Christians stay governed by their flesh and don't walk in victory...

They don't feed their inner man with the milk and meat of the Word (John 17:17, I Corinthians 3:1-4).
The world takes over and they lose their first love (Revelation 2:4).
Temptations (Ephesians 4:14).
They are dull of hearing the Lord's voice (see Matthew 13:15).
The cares of the world choke out the Word (see Matthew 13:22).
They keep idols in their hearts (see Mark 12:30).
They don't pass trials and testings (see Romans 5:3).
They lack faith (see Hebrews 11:6)

Now my penny! If we pray... Our Father which art in heaven ... thou will be done on earth as in heaven.... Is there sin in heaven? Does any one in heaven sin? So what is Father's will for us? Matthew 5:48 is the most direct will of Father Jesus gave us... Be perfect! And that is how it is in heaven! It is perfect there because Father's will is BEING DONE THERE! Thank God, Jesus did not teach us... Father let our will be done in heaven as we do it on earth!!! No HIS WILL BE DONE HERE !!!! And that is PERFECT!!! If we ask God that HE will let His will be done here as in heaven, and the next breath we say... We will allways be sinners, then we did not really believe God CAN DO HIS WILL HERE! Come on people THINK!!! This is why I cannot believe a person that says we aill always be sinners, there is no verse in the Bible that says it! There is no verse in the bible that says THERE IS NO PERFECT PEOPLE ON EARTH, And NEVER was!!! In fact did Jesus not say He did not come for the righteouss, First of all these righteouss can only be reighteouss if they NEVER sin. So who did Jesus come for?
Well he came for sinners.... NO that is FALSE TEACHINGS!!!!! Jesus came for sinners to REPENT!!!!! To DIE OFF ALL SIN!!!!! Of you have two sin to repent and stop, then you cannot lay down one and think you are righteouss!! You have to die off (repent BOTH SIN!!! THEN you are clean! Then you are sainty and still need to be perfected! You are then sinless, but not perfect yet. Righteouss people is not only without sin, they actually is as righteous as God... 1 John 3:7. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

God nobody will deceive me, I will only believe a righteous man as righteous as you are.... Not self righteous as so many sinners claim. But if I see Jesus in them and His Words come from them, then i will beleive and not be deceived!

Jesus said: God does not hear sinners but those that keeps His Word. People that DOES His Word, and Jesus said.... GO AND SIN NO MORE! I bet the Holy Spirit says that to ALL who typed here.... STOP SINNINNG!!!!! I bet you all want to stop sinning! Well ALLOW GOD TO DO IT FOR YOU AND WE CAN BE ONE!!!! You see i am not PERFECT.... YET, but i know soon i will be! Why? Becasue God wants me to be with Him! And He told me .... "SOON SON YOU GET TO KEEP IT!!""" I was made holy for about ten minutes three years ago! Why did He do it, made me holy for ten minutes and then take it again? Guess!!! And find it in scripture! did it happen before with other people, and id it mentioned in the Bible! YES very defenately! And for the SAME reason!!!! God's reason!
Jesus said.. come to me and i will give you rest... How restful is sin?
Jesus said... you will receive peace that goes beyond human understanding... How peaceful is sin?
Jesus said... Blessed is the ones that hungers for righteousness, they shall be filled.... How righteous is sin?
Jesus said... We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not... Are you a sinner or one that at least know ALL who are born of God CANNOT SIN!
Jesus said... Ye know that Jesus was manifested to take AWAY our sins... Are your sins taken away? No! Go to Jesus and GIVE IT TO HIM!!!!
Not a single thing or argument you make will keep God from perfecting me. And Put the Spirit of Jesus in this flesh of mine, to live sinless for the rest of this fleshes life! 100% driven by God's Holy Spirit! ....ZONE this is when Jesus becomes perfect in you... The MOMENT GOD GIVES JESUS LIFE IN YOUR FLESH!!!! REBIRTH... Baptism of the Holy Spirit! Filling of the Holy Spirit. Glorification after sanctification! I am only perfect if I am not here, but Jesus is here IN ME! And that will happen soon, the unfortunate thing is, if you are not holy yourself, YOU WILL NOT KNOW WHEN!
EVEN IF JESUS HIMSELF COMES HERE AND TYPE>>>> COBUS, GO AND SIN NO MORE, MANY people here will start arguing with Jesus! What if Jesus said to you ABIDING.... Go and sin no more! Will you argue with Him? Did you know nobody EVER argued with Jesus when He said... Be perfect... In fact it only astonished them... but not so much that they started aguing! They believed Him even as sinners sitting there they KNEW He meant EVERY WORD!
Let me tell you when Jesus told the adultress to SIN NO MORE... He gave her HIS POWER to rule over her fleshly lusts! God gave JESUS the POWER OVER ALL FLESH, That is why ONLY HE CAN BE PRFECT IN ME!!!!! And He can even through the LEAD of HIS Spirit give me the power over my flesh! That is how i REPENT!!!! But repent is not the end of the SALVATION! It is the beginning!!! The lust is not the sin, giving in to the lust is the sin! And that is a choice! The beginning of God's WAY Jesus is the realization I HAVE A CHOICE!!! I can CHOSE NOT TO SIN, and you say... no i cannot! Well then The Holy Spirit is not doing Hism Job... He LEADS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS! If i follow Jesus, HE LEADS ME OUT OF SIN, but I HAVE TO CHOOSE IT!!!
So if you sin, do not blame the salvation of Jesus! It is your CHOICE, Jesus' choice for you is.... GO AND SIN NO MORE.
REPENT.... Stop all sin.... And be Baptized BY GOD to live PERFECTLY EVER AFTER!!!!!
I just need to show you that God MAKES YOU BLAMELESS...PERFECT.... EVEN YOUR FLESH!!! And then HE PRESERVE you blameless.... Now to preserve you blameless He HAS to make you blameless, even your flesh... Look here... AND HE WILL DO IT!!!
This is from a book printed in 1891...
This is a book called Bible readings for the home circle... It is a book where more than a score of Bible students answer questions with one verse answers from the KJV.
Question... Is the doctrine of perfection taught in the Bible?
Answer... James 1:4... But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting [lacking] nothing.
Question.... If we fulfill the conditions of the Bible, how perfect may we expect God's care for us to be?
Answer... 1 Thes 5:23.... And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
To just show you if He does do this... LOOK at the next verse!!!! HE DOES ALL THE PERFECTION>>>>> I only die off the sin!!! And that I also DO BY HIS LEAD AND HIS POWER!!!....Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
If HE did not call me I would NEVER even start! but if I just BELIEVE THAT HE WILL MAKE ME PERFECT HE WILL.

Many people make it out that sin just happens... BULL!! Every sin is a choice, a mindset! If you mind is set by the teachings of the Holy Spirit then your MIND IS RENEWED TO THE THOUGHT OF JESUS!!!!! That is why ALL THE OLD IS GONE AND EVERYTHING IS NEW... IN CHRIST!!!!
No matter what people say or do to the Bible... this command STANDS, even after theyend up in hell, changing God's Word, and teaching against this..... Matthew 5:48.... Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Jesus did not waste words here, HE MEANT IT, becasue HE MAY COMMAND IT... HE IS GOD!!!!

You know what happens when you try to be perfect like the Father is perfect? It makes you realize YOU NEED A SAVIOUR because you can't do it on your own. All of us who love God are being conformed to the image of His son Jesus Christ, who IS perfect. This is pleasing to God and we want to be pleasing. Everything in the bible is designed to help you realize that you need Jesus. YOU NEED JESUS. Its an ongoing process and not a one time fix. You will keep on needing Jesus, this is the relationship.

If you were perfectly sinless and perfectly conformed to the Image of the Lord Jesus wouldn't you have more important things to do than convince people that you are sinless and perfect?? We are all trying for the same thing I think but I really don't think any of us has "arrived". I'll let you know if I become perfect but you'll probably see it on the news or read it in the newspapers first.

Very true

I dont think anyone is trying to convince anyone they are perfect, just that God is able to perfect us.

God Bless you

God Bless You
What a beautiful answer.
