Love that! Tozer was great. And its True. MANY christians will go to Church and sing "I surrender ALL" adn yet there life shows that they may have surrendered SOME...but deffinately not ALL. :) :)

But i guess i needent press any further. None of this has been out of anything other than love. I hope maybe someone would see that.
DF.
i appreciate your devotion.
do you have children and a mortgage and debts and a ministry?

we serve and love our neighbours in our vocations.
by being good citizens in the community.
that's how we serve God also.

are you able to say you go to a 12 hour nightshift job every night, go home and be a godly father and husband and serve in your church as well?
and to do those things gracefully and gratefully?

Hmm. Let's see about that.

Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Hmm.

Yield

Dominion

interesting so the question is are you a slave to sin or a slave to righteousness? who do you allow to use your body? or do you retain control and harness every thought into obedience of Christ?

maturity.... sigh..

2 Corinthians 10:3-6
New King James Version (NKJV)
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

the battle is in the mind and waged by everyone who is born again to control YOURSELF first and foremost though the help of Christ.

Before you can sin you have to justify it in your mind and reject God who speaks against sin in your heart. that is why we need to pray and praise God when He grants this prayer:

Psalm 19
12 Who can understand his errors?
Cleanse me from secret faults.
13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins;
Let them not have dominion over me.
Then I shall be blameless,
And I shall be innocent of great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.

therefore before you speak, pray over your words and listen. Do you speak as oracles of God or do you speak out of flesh and pride?

do you speak to edify or to self justify?

where has Jesus gone in this conversation?

1 Peter 4:11
If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

when did you last speak presumptuously ananda?
and discuss things not about Jesus?
when did you actually speak as an oracle of God? do you know this means 'as the scriptures'?

don't know about the last time I tend to focus on the future and keep my focus on God if possible. I'm sure I could make a list of today alone of my sins if I felt inclined to but I know God washes me clean of them because I seek His Kingdom and His ways. I may fail at times but God will make me stand and He does not ask me to dwell on my sin but to turn from it and turn towards Him. Am I a sinner or am I a saint? Only God knows who He has chosen and I would not presume to judge for Him. anyway I don't dwell on it too much Instead I remember what Jesus told us:

Philippians 3:12-14
New King James Version (NKJV)
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

discuss things not about Jesus? I think every thing in the world is about Jesus. He made every thing and any thing we speak about is some how related to His creation.

to speak as oracles of God is to speak in the spirit of Prophecy which is the testimony of Jesus Christ and yes the scriptures speak of this.

Revelation 19:10
And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

so yes every word we speak should point people to Jesus Christ. Or place in them godly sorrow that will lead to repentance and acceptance of Jesus as Lord and savior for the remissions of their sins that their heart convicts them of. Not hearts of stone but hearts of flesh placed there through the grace of God.

Too many people still have stone hearts and for them we pray daily they will be touched and the seeds of the Gospel will find fertile ground to grow and not stony, bird infested or thorn crowded soil.

Some people claim to be Christian but have hearts of stone and the plants have no roots and prosper for a while then die away when tribulations and persecution comes because of the faith. For we are called to live in the world but not to be OF the world.

James 4:3-5
New King James Version (NKJV)
3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and[a] adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?

therefore how do you sink your roots deep and bare fruit? you have a humble repentant heart that is fertile ground for the seed of the Gospel of Salvation to grow. you confess your many sins and trust that God will weed the garden and get rid of the stones and tares and keep the birds from devouring you and your fruit or plant. do you know what else the word of God is?

Luke 8:11
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

the one offensive weapon in our spiritual armour: the sword of the Spirit.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Ephesians 6

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[c] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Follow Him where DF?

where is He leading you that might stop you from actually living in the community and being an example of a Christian life....an ordinary Christian family? doing well and having others see your blessings?

why are you so fearful?

I follow Jesus and what HE tells me to do. His earthly life was the end of the old covenant adn a picture of what SPIRITUAL life is. he was the FIRST to be led by the spirit. And thats what i want my life to be. Compeltely led by HIM. Even if i means i have no palce to lay my head. Then that mean he loves me enough to make me like HImself. that is the gratest gift i could ask for.

Fear? nah no fear.

I have nothing. I wrote up a big long page rant...hahah and then apparently God stoped it. haha SO...Ill shorten what i was about to say to this.

Faith has no fear, because FAITH is perfect love.

All i have is some clothes, and some small bit of money that is GODS anyway. I promised it to HIM so HE wil ltell me how HE wants me to use it.

Other than that, I pray as much as i can, witness where GOD leads. and I take care of My Father who is dissabled, while my mother takes care of her sick, and grieving Sister, who just lost her daughter to a heroin overdose.

Other than that. I have almost NOTHING and God brought me to a poitn where i want MORE of HIM and less of everythig nelse. I have almost nothign...and want LESS...not more. I have no fear, becasue i know i follwo a GOd who Won allready. so there is nothig nto fear. I dotn care if i go hungry, HIS spirit feeds me. I dont care what happens to this carton, my flesh...i hate it anyway.

Fear doesnt factor in. Which is good :) There is nothig nto fear. anyway PRAISE jesus for it, becaseu its not of myself...its ALL him and i love and thank him for it.

Jesus bless you.

Wow that was a long read. I think this is just from immaturity. Which is impossible to see when your immature. Lifes a challange:)

But its like the "The Lord told me" when put to the test, it turns out to be: well i remembered a verse, or a thought came.
Then saying the Lord told me isnt true , becuase your misleading everyone one who doesnt understand your chrysto-crypto-lingo.

Now, how could this be different? If your talking about our "standing" in the Lord to an audience who hasnt any understanding of it.
Dont be silly, and, mean, and talk in language only a learned person understands. Its misleading, and will never help anyone.

If you dont know the difference between our "standing" and present "state". Then id advise you to learn it. For the sake of your listenners
and readers. And talk in the language of normal understood terms.

Its a mistake to put time references to a verse that doesnt have one. Becuase you can misunderstand things as being instant when
they come through a process with other processes of the work of grace in our lives by the predistined plan of God for us. And visa-versa.

Another thing being led by the Spirit is more of the idea of being drug than of our choosing. At least in Romans 8. And ill say we were drug
to that place many times. If you are humbled and willing now, thats beautiful, His work has accomlished some great things, dont dont be decieved
to think you finally conceded. No that was given to you to be willing. And His grace is given to you to be obedient. Was it from your will?
Id say it was the new effections that came from regeneration. So no credit due to us.

Therefore if a person has no desire for Holy living. Then feed him. And know its the goodness of God that leads man to repentance. That being said
Why would someone being saved grow awhile, have their eyes openned, then go out and talk over most peoples heads and freak em out :)

Amen DF.
i meant why are you fearful of Jesus?
Fear of GOD is the beginign of wisdom

The REASON no one can stop there sins, is becaue ther is no fear of the judgment of GOD on the person who continues in sin. But if there IS judgment on the children of dissobedidence.

And the Children of dissobedience CAN be "Christian".(but you dont belive so...so...enough said, i dotn want to argue anymore :) )

HE dosent WANT me to have no palce to lay my head, he wants me to follow, and obey him and trust him in al lthigns. So IF i end up having no place to lay my head, then that would be a GIFT of GOD, to be like My MAster in that area.

And he leads me in EVERYTHING, I truly ask him what do do(or try to) in al thigns. Some may call that crazy, i call that I LOVE JESUS! And what he will lead me into next is HIS will not mine. I wait for him to tell me.

Thats it...i cant really expalin it any further. So please can we get it the topic off of me. This wasnt about ME, and should never be about any specific person its about the TOPIC at hand, and ultimately JESUS.

The evidence of belief is obedience. So what does that make disobedience? The evidence of unbelief. If you claim to believe on and trust in Christ, yet live in disobedience to His Word then you are a liar. The true test of your faith is your obedience to Christ, and His Word.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

James 2
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

1st John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to "go and sin no more." I never heard that woman answer, "Jesus, what you say is impossible." Jesus told the sick man of 38 years, "sin no more." I never heard the man say to Jesus, "You are telling something that is impossible to do." Paul says, "Awake to righteousness and SIN NOT." No one ever told Paul, "We are born sinners, it's impossible to stop sinning."

1st John 1
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1st John 2
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

You cannot use this passage to promote sin. Taking one verse out of context and trying to force it to say something it doesnt is the first sign of a deceiver.
Don't be such a bonehead, no one is promoting sin or any lifestyle of sin and that scripture, in the passage you quoted, is for those that think they never sin or believe in sinless perfection or believe erroneously that their sin nature was eradicated through the new birth. They have a strange understanding of what it means to be born of God. It also instructs the believer on what to do if they do sin. If we are going to confess our sin, don't you think that we would have had to commit sin first before the confession? I don't know of anyone that confesses sin they have never been a part of, maybe you do but that would also be strange phenomena.

To think that a believer that has been forgiven and cleansed from their wicked sin, would actually want to go out and live in sin would only prove on thing, that a believer can backslide and when they do (God forbid) God will be waiting for them with mercy and grace to restore them right back to where they were before they backslid. That's the truth whether you like that or not, God is faithful and He loves sinners and died for every one of them with no exceptions. I am so glad that when I fail or sin that God never condemns me and only wants to fellowship with me and will give me mercy and grace to restore me and He will be a perfect gentleman when He does it. He was a perfect gentleman with the adulterous woman. He may send a Spirit-filled believer to do just that and they will be meek and kind and do it in the love and grace of God without ever criticizing or judging, lest they fall. That is the God of the Bible that sent His Son into the world to save sinners and restore them when they fall.

God teaches these thing in His word. We all have sinned, but we are not bound by sin so that we must continue to sin.

Scripture that tells us to live sinless lives

Matthew 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Rom 6:20-22
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Ephesians 4:17-32
17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,
18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;
19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But you have not so learned Christ,
21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Do Not Grieve the Spirit
25 Therefore, putting away lying, “ Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.
26 “Be angry, and do not sin” do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
27 nor give place to the devil.
28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

1st Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from every form of evil.

1st John 2
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

1st John 3
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Scriptures that say we are able to live sinlessly

Romans 8
3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,
4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit

1st Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil

Jude 24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless, Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy

Scripture for walking in the Spirit.

Romans 6:1-4
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Galatians 5:16
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

1st John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Scriptures that tell us to be humble while pursuing perfection

Phil 3
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.

1st Corinthians 9
26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

1st Corinthians 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

1st Corinthians 15:31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily

All thing are possible with God
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Ephesians 3:20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Even though it is Christ that works through us, and we can do nothing in ourselves it is still us who must allow Him to work in us therefore partnering with Christ cleansing ourself from all unrightouesness
1st Corinthians 15
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

2nd Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Galtians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lust.

Philippians 2
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

1st John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

See even though it is Christ that works in us, but it is we who must remain stedfast, crucify our flesh, making manifest our Savior, working out our own salvation, purifying ourselves, cleansing ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God, making ourselves ready for our Bridegroom King.

4runner, you have a problem, you are afraid to sin and of sin. You think that if you sin that you have offended God and He won't accept you anymore and will be so displeased that He will reject you. Any believer that is afraid of sin has been snared by that fear and they have a superficial boldness about not being a sinner. This is what I think happens to some believers that are caught by this snare. God takes away the hedge of grace around that believer and watches them get troubled by sin in many areas of their life. God is not being a minister of sin by doing this, but He is showing these snared believers, that have a false burden about being perfect, that they can not make it without the grace of God for one minute.
