wow.

Daniel willfully called the woman to his room, and willfully had sex with her

Daniel willfully tried to decieve by having her husband have sex with so they could say it was his. When he refused, Daniel willfully had him killed.

I do not know who you are listening to. but you need ot run, far far away from them

All sin is willful sin, (except sins of ignorance which even then, we have no excuse, and are called law breakers when we commit them) Anyone who says otherwise just wants to excuse their own sin..
That was David you fool...He also went through a bitter repentance for 9 months and would have gone to hell if died in that condition, and if he didn't come clean with God, Read Psalm 32,& 51 its not a Psalm of excuse its a Psalm of bitter repentance...a second repentance is a very rare occurrance in the text. i can only think of about 2 other instances...The consequenesse were so sever it ruined David's live physically for the next 20 years, his hole family was in an uproar, and his own children tried to kill him, God also removed the hand of protection that He once had over him before in the time of King Saul...The last 20 years of his live were very greivious and he became an old man long before his time..Yes David was a Holy man and a man after Gods own heart, but it took a bitter repentance and season of godly sorrow to restore him..Like I said; I can not find but possibly 2 instances like this in the entire bible. As Hebrews 6 & 10 reads, it is virtually impossible to return after this kind of sin...see the parable of the wondering spirit that goeth out of a man...One thing David didn't do was turn to false Idols and false God's like Saul and Solomon did...Don't use Davids vile sins of the flesh for an excuse to continue in sin...sin only hardens the heart, and eventually to the point where one can no longer repent even though they want to...Judas is an example

Could it be that so many don't really want God at all? They only want what Gods got. I know that won't ever work out for them. Now would it?
Yes this could be true.

In fact when I speak to people about Christ and coming to faith is not because you want God to sort out all your problems and to place your will on him.

I even say it's not about putting God in a box that you only open when you need him.

I also say that God never promised to make all things in your life good (which is often misinterpreted as a result of Romans 8:28)

Alas those who espouse this miss the full picture.

Romans 8:28-30
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

God causes everything to work together and why?
So they would become more like Jesus.

Yes God is interested and concerned about you but trust that he will work the way that he knows best for you and not what you think is best for you.

lol yes I do thank you. Been a long day, not sure why I had David in my head... forgive me.
I do it myself. I'm not great at remembering names but like you know what the circumstances were surrounding the name I've forgotten or got wrong.

Do you think he would have gone to hell?
Would he have not been covered by the OT sacrificial system?
My understanding was that he should have been put to death straight away but wasn't.
Also God loved David and called him a man after his own heart.

I am not sure he would have gone to hell.

Happy to be reproved if you can reprove me.

That was David you fool...
Matthew 5:22
But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.

David was called a man after Gods own heart as a child. This is BEFORE David committed those sins, and GOD KNEW he was going to commit them while calling him a man after his heart.

The law said David had to sacrifice to gain forgiveness. David understood, Sacrifice and burnt offering God did not desire. David understood grace.. He also understood he would (and he did) suffer grave temporal sufferings due to those sins..

His eternal salvation although was never in question, Any more than Abraham, Who willfully laghed at God. Who willfully lied about his wife being his sister. WHo willfully disobeyed god and commited adultery with his maidservant (a sin which the world still suffers from)

Yet he was called righteous through all that, why? Because he trusted in God.. and God accredited to him as righteousness.

willybob,

You called EG a fool. I am rather hoping that you know each other well enough to be able to say that.

If not then to me you are effectively judging someone and you will have to account for those words when you stand before Jesus.

The word Raca comes to mind

David would not have went to hell, because Jesus came and took his sin long after he died.. And in all things David trusted god. He did not hide his sin, Excuse it, He confessed it.. Took ownership of it and moved on.. Like all of Gods people do.

He does not know me at all.. Just a few posts between us, and most of them in disagreement.

I thought of reporting him again for that (it is a reportable offense) But will show some grace.. (one time in one day is enough)

Psalms 51:16-17
For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.

Thank you God

whats in the mouth (other than bacteria :)) the tongue.

Even though it's small how we use it can have serious consequences but also be soothing to those we speak to.

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 15:4
Gentle words are a tree of life;
a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

Matthew 12:36-37
And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”

Proverbs 15:4
Gentle words are a tree of life;
a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

dead equals nonexistent, it means powerless. it means it is not real.

Faith minus works = no faith. = no salvation (Because true faith ALWAYS produces works)

works minus faith = legalism, because your faith is in your works, not God..
Amen, we are in agreement.

Our faith in God produces obedience to the law of Christ, because loving your
neighbour fulfills the law.

And in fulfilling the law we walk righteously.
And just as everytime a snake bit a person they were healed by looking at the
bronze snake, so everytime some stumbles in sin, they find forgiveness through
repentance and confession and faith in the cross, for healing and restoration.

But for those who find it hard to forgive, shut love out of part of their lives,
this makes all of this impossible. It is like a log jam, which is only a reality
in this believers heart. Forgive and let love reign and victory shall be yours.

I wonder why it is so hard to get agreement from some people who claim
to follow the King. Maybe their King does not like the light.
