i really hope the wesleyans and the false prophets and charismatics can see the fruit of this evil teaching of perfectionism. just look at the wreckage.
step up to the plate and tell the truth.
Consider this: if you are right and I am wrong, I have not harmed you in the least by suggesting you need to live a more godly life. If, however, I am right and you are wrong, thousands (possibly including you) will come to the knowledge of these truths only as they arrive in eternity and to their horror discover they are forever condemned to Hell. Therefore I will leave you these questions.

Ask yourself:

1. Is this life, your pet theology, or your favorite sin worth your soul?
2. Would you not give up everything for a chance to spend eternity with God?
3. The great day of judgment will indeed come one day. are you ready today, to stand before God and give an account?

You would like that, after all Jesus did tell us darkness hates the light. You dont want me shining a light into your darkness, now do ya?
do i want to believe YOU about you?
or do i believe JOHN about you?

Nowhere will you find that Jesus was Mary's biological child in scripture. However we do know Jesus was the 2nd Adam and High Priest after the order of Melchezidec, neither of which had earthly parents.
2 John 1:7
Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.

i'll go with John......
all the rest of your "doctrines" fit to a T.

Your strawman has no legs. I do not deny the humanity of Christ. I affirm it quite strongly.

You are one of the dogs, and swine Jesus warned us not to share our pearls with.

Matthew 7: 6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

The objectionable habit of dogs is used by Peter to teach the reprehensible condition of the apostate child of God in 2nd Peter 2:22 "The dog is turned to his own vomit again" The term "dog" is figuratively used to stand for false teachers and those who shall be outside of heaven.

Dogs "rend you" or according to the Amplified Version, "tear you in pieces." How do people with the capacity, aptitude, and lack of appreciation of the value of the gospel rend you? Such people when especially presented with repeated efforts to teach them can actually resort to literal physical violence. In Acts 7 we see that those to whom Stephen preached murdered him. Often, the assault is verbal. The dogs will assign an evil motive to any and every thing you say, attempting to make you appear the sinner. They will resort to lying and slandering you

Swine were associated with filth and were also used by Peter regarding the fallen away ones. It was appropriate that the prodigal son ended up "feeding the swine"

The swine will trample the pearls under foot. When presented with the gospel, the swine will be seen desecrating the message of the gospel. It is they who often contend that man’s salvation is by grace alone and that it does not matter how christians live. They cheapen the grace of God and turn it into a license to commit sin.

I agree, the sad thing is however many that claim to be christians are not. their fruit tells on them.

Matthew 7
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

True, and if Jesus preached the same messages that ministers preach today, He would never have been crucified. There are two kinds of persons: those dead IN sin and those dead TO sin. If the whole church goes off into deception, that will in no way excuse you and me for not following Christ.

The bible is clear that we can a judge a man, or a doctrine for that matter, according to it's fruit. I challenge anyone to compare the life of John Calvin and the history of Calvinism then compare that to the life of John Wesley and the history of the Wesleyan movement.

While Calvin did bring some sense of order to the Reformation, he ordered a man (Micheal Servitus) to be killed despite his own bel;iefs / teachings on the Soveregnty of God that the actions of no man can further help or hurt the cause of Christ. Not only was Calvin guilty of murder but of hypocrisy as well. As a result, several groups of intolerant Calvinists went on to persecute and kill other Christian groups who refused to bow the knee to Calvin's doctrines of sin and compromise thus concealing their own sin & hypocrisy by pointing the fingers at others who do not line up to their belief system and crying "wolf".

Wesley, on the other hand, played an integral role in the greatest move of God since Pentecost known as the First Great Awakening where hundreds of thousands were saved on horseback and via sail boat. The fruits of Wesleyanism have been even more revival, Charles Finney and the 2nd Great Awakening in the 1800's where hundreds of thousands more were saved, the Welsh Revival at the turn of the 20th century which brought the entire nation of Whales to it's knees in repentance, and let's not forget Azusa Street which has brought millions to Christ in the last 105 years.

It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

Matthew 7: 6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
The objectionable habit of dogs is used by Peter to teach the reprehensible condition of the apostate child of God in 2nd Peter 2:22 "The dog is turned to his own vomit again" The term "dog" is figuratively used to stand for false teachers and those who shall be outside of heaven.

slick. only trouble is you guys can't get a pulpit with the lost so you bring your junk to the christians.
you take the best seat if that's what you want like. the prophets are happy to take you in.

They cheapen the grace of God and turn it into a license to commit sin.
the OP already stated quite nicely exactly who it is that cheapens Grace - the perfectionist heretics.

very misleading...repenting and allowing Jesus to free us from our flesh?
If that were the truth. Our bible would be a one page flyer. Why dont you
share the gospel. Teach the whole council of God. What I see in your posts
is a oversimplified boast and position to separate believers. You make
presumptious judgements about mens state of soul. Which is not at all necessary
to dialogue on a doctrine, or to give your best opinion on things.

Gods grace and mercy im afraid is bigger than you imagine, but some sins
when it comes to causing divisions, especially when it is over things that take
time to understand, im afraid are not as permittable.

Its like a parent who feels so superior to a child. And scoffs at a child.
Rather sickning right. But im not thinking your like that. What I think about you
is that you just like thinking you an important voice in the wilderness. But keep
in mind, Jesus patiently taught His followers for years, and still they had to keep
learning to grow. The apostles also patiently taught the church. And the scriptures
tell us to patiently teach other men.

Maybe ive missed it buy ive seen no teaching from romans from you, just
blunt statements, and challanging, if not provoking statements. If all you
want is to be right and win....then here you go..

your right, we are wrong, you win..congradualations :)

I will give you this much, you are not masquerading. You straightly teach demonic doctrines, unashamedly.

The Heresy of Perfectionism

from R.C. Sproul Mar 14, 2011 Category: R.C. Sproul

An ancient heresy of the distinction between two types of Christians, carnal and Spirit-filled, is the heresy of perfectionism. Perfectionism teaches that there is a class of Christians who achieve moral perfection in this life. To be sure, credit is given to the Holy Spirit as the agent who brings total victory over sin to the Christian. But there is a kind of elitism in perfectionism, a feeling that those who have achieved perfection are somehow greater than other Christians. The “perfect” ones do not officially—take credit for their state, but smugness and pride have a way of creeping in.

The peril of perfectionism is that it seriously distorts the human mind. Imagine the contortions through which we must put ourselves to delude us into thinking that we have in fact achieved a state of sinlessness.

Inevitably the error of perfectionism breeds one, or usually two, deadly delusions. To convince ourselves that we have achieved sinlessness, we must either suffer from a radical overestimation of our moral performance or we must seriously underestimate the requirements of God’s law. The irony of perfectionism is this: Though it seeks to distance itself from antinomianism, it relentlessly and inevitably comes full circle to the same error.

To believe that we are sinless we must annul the standards of God’s Law. We must reduce the level of divine righteousness to the level of our own performance. We must lie to ourselves both about the Law of God and about our own obedience. To do that requires that we quench the Spirit when He seeks to convict us of sin. Persons who do that are not so much Spirit-filled as they are Spirit-quenchers.

One of the true marks of our ongoing sanctification is the growing awareness of how far short we fall of reaching perfection. Perfectionism is really antiperfectionism in disguise. If we think we are becoming perfect, then we are far from becoming perfect.

I once encountered a young man who had been a Christian for about a year. He boldly declared to me that he had received the “second blessing” and was now enjoying a life of victory, a life of sinless perfection. I immediately turned his attention to Paul’s teaching on Romans 7. Romans 7 is the biblical death blow to every doctrine of perfectionism. My young friend quickly replied with the classic agreement of the perfectionist heresy, namely, that in Romans 7 Paul is describing his former unconverted state.

I explained to the young man that it is exegetically impossible to dismiss Romans 7 as the expression of Paul’s former life. We examined the passage closely and the man finally agreed that indeed Paul was writing in the present tense. His next response was, “Well, maybe Paul Was speaking of his present experience, but he just hadn’t received the second blessing yet.”

I had a difficult time concealing my astonishment at this spiritual arrogance. I asked him pointedly, “You mean that You, at age nineteen, after one year of Christian faith, have achieved a higher level of obedience to God than the apostle Paul enjoyed when he was writing the Epistle to the Romans?”
To my everlasting shock the young man replied without flinching, “Yes!” Such is the extent to which persons will delude themselves into thinking that they have achieved sinlessness.

I spoke once with a woman who claimed the same “second blessing” of perfectionism who qualified her claim a bit. She said that she was fully sanctified into holiness so that she never committed any willful sins. But she acknowledged that occasionally she still committed sins, though never willfully. Her present sins were unwillful.

What in the world is an unwillful sin? All sin involves the exercise of the will. If an action happens apart from the will it is not a moral action. The involuntary beating of my heart is not a moral action. All sin is willful. Indeed, the corrupt inclination of the will is of the very essence of sin. There is no sin without the willing of sin. The woman was excusing her own sin by denying that she had willed to commit the sin. The sin just sort of “happened.” It was the oldest self-justification known to man: “I didn’t mean to do it!”

In one strand of the Wesleyan tradition there is another type of qualified perfectionism. Here the achievement of perfection is limited to a perfected love. We may continue to struggle with certain moral weaknesses, but at least we can receive the blessing of a perfected love. But think on this a moment. If we received the blessing of a love that was absolutely perfect, how then would we ever commit any kind of sin? If I ever loved God perfectly, I would will only obedience to Him. How could a creature who loved God perfectly ever sin against Him at all?

Someone might answer: “We could still sin against Him in ignorance.” But the perfect love with which we are called to love God is a perfect love of our minds as well as our hearts. If we perfectly loved God with all of our minds, from whence could this ignorance flow? One who loves God perfectly with the mind is perfectly diligent in studying and mastering the Word of God. The perfectly loving mind perceives correctly the light into our paths. A perfectly loving mind doesn’t make errors in understanding Scripture.

But could we not still make mistakes because our minds are less than perfect? I ask why our minds are less than perfect. It is not because we lack brains or the faculty of thinking. Our thinking is clouded because our hearts are clouded. Take away the cloud from our hearts and our minds are illumined by the clear light of God.

A perfect love would yield perfect obedience. The only perfected love this world has ever seen was the love of Christ, who exhibited perfect obedience. Jesus loved the Father perfectly. He sinned not at all, either willfully or in ignorance.
