I don't understand this radio-dating thing but IMO it is nothing more than circular reasoning.
The Earth is the original clock from which we defined 'time'- meaning that a Year/ a day/ a second/ an hour/ a minute are time periods as measured/observed/experienced from earths movements. To be crude, a Year is a time period that the earth takes one revolution against the sun. So anything/ measurement given as time is somehow connected to the earth's movement.
For example; if a rock is dated 4 million years- means the earth has had 4 million revolutions against the sun since that rock formed. Using a rock (part of earth) to define how many revolutions the earth has made (using earth's defined time) since the arth was formed is circular reasoning.
It is like having a functioning clock and buying another clock. Using your first clock to calibrate the second clock and then using your second clock to determine how long you have been having the first clock. It doesn't work.
It all started with having the wrong definition of time. Time is an experience by a conscious mind and without the mind, time doesn't exist as an independent item.
