What scripture verse was this again? I lost it.
22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'
Matt 7

Thinking about this verse there is a story of some pharisees using the name of Jesus

13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out."
14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.
15 One day the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?"
16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.
Acts 10

Jesus is though addressing people who believed they were followers but are not.
I do know many groups who use spiritual gifts as the basis of authority not our walk in Christ.
So it is obvious that these people fall into this group.

Sorry I think I Got confused wi
Listen here I am not here to prove a point with you. I will pray to God about this issue and I am going to read these entire passages when i am not tired. I am sick at the moment and haven't had sleep. For a while. So I will sit down and read both chapters when I am feeling better.
OK.... I will show mercy and spare since you are sick......hope and pray you get better!

Why do you keep using passages from the Law dispensation, which is a conditional covenant? Abraham was not under the Law, do you understand what that means?
2 Timothy 2:19 New International Version (NIV)
19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”

But the new testament says we "must" turn away from wickedness.

Get some rest, there is no hurry. EG and DC will always be provocative and respond like its a war,
when often it is actually about emphasis. They on the other hand regard their mission as to
destroy those they call the enemy. Gods desire is to save people, and reveal the truth in love
and care, which is quite a different approach. God bless you

God promised Abraham certain things that he would do for the latter. Those promises cannot be cancelled no matter what Abraham does.

We are also under the same unconditional covenant as Abraham, as Paul explained in both Romans and Galatians.

Rom 10:9that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

This is already a condition. The word "if" makes it a condition because if you don't, then the promise is null for you.

Verse 22 is referring to the pharisees. Who did everything for the benefit of others but not God.
They disobeyed God. They didnt do wonderful works for God, but only to look good in front of others.
IE they did it to serve self. Not serve others.

Thats why one can appear righteous on the outside, Yet on the inside not be righteous at all..

That whole premise is wrong....the Pharisees NEVER done anything in the name of JESUS.......so that cannot even be correct...they hated him and wanted to KILL him...not do works in his name

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

My brother, if we read carefully seem to me this verse not targeting pharisess.

Let read the verse again

Many will say to me

To me mean to Jesus

Pharisees not call Jesus Lord, Pharisees do not believe Jesus is God.

I believe verse 22 is for the people that think they are do for Jesus but not

Preacher my do out of love, may do out of money.

I believe this verse consistence with 1 Cor 13

Even if you have faith to move the mountain but no love, useless in God eyes.
Amen
We call them religious christians.. Who think they are saved, but are not.
