Yes, she is. So much so, that it makes me kinda wish I could go to the Philipines... :D
Years ago my younger brother met a woman online that lived in the Philippines. They will be celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary later this year and their son just graduated from high school. Married life can be quite an adventure. Many such journeys are possible.

Now you've got me thinking of the complexities of just how complicated another Match Making thread would be.

Personally, I wouldn't be able to include people underage (which to me, is at least 18, if not 20) because I would never be pairing 14-year-olds up with supposed dates, even jokingly.

So then there would be an uproar over why isn't so-and-so included... And so then if we paired up two people with a 10- or 20-year age gap, then we'd get another round of protests saying, "Well you paired THEM up, so why not ME???"

This is why writing threads and even trying to have fun can get so complicated, folks.
Sure, I love to see people in love. Distance is no object.

First of all, Conversation... I'm so sorry if I'm putting a dark cloud over your awesome thread. This was the most fun we've had here in a while. Super duper, high-flying kudos to you!!!

But I also have to point out a few logistics...

One of the reasons I get hesitant to "set people up", even as a joke, is because my mind is skipping ahead to the very fact that anything is possible, and I'm actually trying to think up REAL matches whenever possible. Which is why I try to stick with members I think I know fairly well, or who would know me enough to know I'm not trying to hurt or offend them.

So what if we suggested X and Y together, and they start talking, and something really does spark up??? :D :D :D

That would simply be amazing.

But I'm also thinking ahead to what if they started talking, and something went horribly wrong... :( Which isn't meant to be a downer, but just a realistic fact of life.

This, as well as legal implications, is one reason why I myself would have to bow out of anything matching people under a legal age--because there's a possibility that a very real relationship, along with its consequences, could be the result.

Molly + Yeraza_bats - Although, they're not opposites... but hey awesome + awesome = more awesomeness
So in order for us to be shipped, one of us must become the opposite of awesome. Hmmmm......

You're fine in my opinion, I think you are over analyzing this .....and come on if someone here takes this silly thread seriously they really need to learn how to take a joke. As DesertJoe would say...just sayin'...

I totally respect you, Wild, but you'd be surprised.

Of course people are going to be eager to see who they're matched with and when lonely people see possibilities they've never seen before... it opens doors to both good and bad. You'd be surprised how many people started talking just because of "silly threads" like this. :)

I'm all for starting a series of threads in which we could all get to know each other a little better and then set up a CC Re-Match(ing) :).

I totally understand and respect others may have other views and opinions and will do their own thing. :) Cool.

But as for me, I apologize in advance in that I will not be suggesting any other matches for those underage. Just my own convictions, sorry, but of course, everyone is free to go with their own. :)

I'd like to get matched up with a Reuben sandwich, a beer, and a Cohiba.

Of course, we wouldn't want anyone to get hurt - no matter what their age. As adults, we accept the responsibilities and the risks. However, those who are "under age" are always a priority to protect from harm and guide through the mine field of the temptations that can cause severe detriment in their lives. And, if we truly love our "children" ( 'under-age' - i.e. - WineRose et al ), we will be sure to conduct and restrain ourselves - "even as we play" - to safeguard and protect them first and foremost.

Wild does have a good point - it is the responsibility of every member to know and understand these things. That responsibility automatically comes with access to any forum, thread, or post.

Otherwise, they shouldn't have access to any "adult play ground" forums, threads, or posts - "for their own good" -- and we shouldn't do or say anything that would tempt them in any forum, thread, or post. Of course, then those forums, threads, and posts would have to be hidden from anyone who is not logged in AND having 'adult' status... ( to protect all of those young non-members out in the internet world )

It gets complicated, doesn't it?

But then, you have a good point also...

People sometimes forget the reality and loose the proper perceptions and perspectives that would otherwise keep them aligned with reality. And, they then venture into areas-and-things that they would otherwise have kept themselves from.

There is nothing wrong with good healthy friendships and good healthy fun -- as long as we keep the proper perceptions and perspectives...

I realize that part of your hesitation comes from the sheer fear-factor of legal ramifications and possible guilt; however, I also think you have the heart to care enough to "look after the young'uns"...

In as much as the site allows all member ages in the Singles Forum -- then, as with many things in life - there is a point of 'balance' that is required...

So then -- let us exhort each other to keep the proper perceptions and perspectives.

I understand your having convictions in the matter. Hold fast to your convictions.

Convictions tend to remind us to keep things in check.

And, there is certainly nothing wrong with you wanting to protect the young members of the site.

I applaud you for having the convictions, holding to those convictions, and caring enough to be bold enough to express them...

In a way -- sure -- she is over-analyzing it. However, she has convictions about it -- which to me - says a lot.

Convictions and Principles can hardly be found one-without-the-other... ;)

After I posted that I thought, "Hmm...there is probably a user named coffee...not my intention...Oh well." Haha
There appear to be 14 members with a user name that begins with the letters 'coffee', but the exact name 'coffee' is not taken.
