When I was young, my siblings & I used pillow cases or huge grocery bags to collect our Halloween candy. It was serious business and we didn't stop going door to door till about 10 o'clock or when everyone finally shut their lights off. Thank God our mother made us put most of it in the fridge and eat a little at a time.

Your trick or treating sounds like mine right down to using pillow cases. I have very good childhood memories of Halloween.

Pigs are delicious. Dietary laws aren't necessary for non-Jews to follow per Acts 15 (not saying that there aren't any benefits to following them, just that you don't have to). Now I'm hungry for bacon.

Yeah, what she said.

Actually the dietary laws were for a very good reason. They didn't know about bacteria, blood parasites and the proper temperature to cook food to kill those bugs, nor did they have thermometers, microscopes or even a scale on which to measure cooking temperatures. If God had explained why to avoid those things or how hot they should cook them and why they would not have understood. Safer to just avoid them.

We know about that stuff. And while it is in fact better for your health if you avoid some of those things, it is no longer such a dangerous game to eat them.

Even earlier than Acts, Jesus said that which enters the mouth does not defile a person. I can't look up the scripture right now though. Its in one of the gospels, maybe more than one.

Matthew 15:17; it's also in Mark 7 and Luke 15.

Well the bible says not to eat it and lots of Christian would do the same but they dont have the courage to stand up to people making fun of them / people complaining etc I.e my parents . Yeh its funny I liked pork and ate knowing I shouldnt and then I finally obeyed the Lord and yeh like you said read the bible and do a little research they're scavengers yuck
now I cant stand the taste
The New Testament overturns that one, Missy. So you might want to do some more research for dismissing it outright. If you don't like it, that's absolutely fine. But it's not unbiblical to eat pork, bacon, ham, seafood etc.

And Peter has a vision involving previously unclean animals wrapped in a blanket.

About the eating pork thing-

9 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 2 The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. 3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
(Genesis chapter 9)

The Jews did have laws on what they could eat, but it was God's will to make all creatures food.

Not feeling well today and I had a bit of a tiff with my boss yesterday. Trying not to have an attitude about it, that doesn't help.
Sometimes thing's in life happen that aren't in our control, like having a child who's sick and not telling you until the last minute. There are some who don't seem to understand that.

Praying you'll feel better.
