My committee would not approve my study where I was proposing the fractal data storage unless I took many more math classes, so I changed my study to another topic entirely.
Yes, the data is nebulous, and that's what I am trying to capture to back up my overall statement for the topic of "it's not entirely appropriate to try to quantify things like thought, feelings, and perceptions, and to do so means a lot of potential data streams are not being examined and conclusions are being drawn from flawed hypotheses"
As for application, there is none. This research is totally useless, but it's rigorous enough to get me a PhD.
