Memo came in with snow on his nose today. I prefer sitting infront of the fireplace myself. Wish Summer was here.... 20171114_172752.jpg

Well I've heard dog noses are SUPPOSED to be cold and wet, it's a sign of a healthy dog... but that is taking it a bit too far.

Just read about the possibilities to get a scholarship to take a term in the States fall 2018. How can I justify going there? Should I rethink my topic for my thesis? (It has snowed this morning, roads are slippery, it is getting dark at 4. I hate Winter and I really want to get as far as possible away from it)
If you do come to the US, stay in the south part. The north part gets snow, cold, slippery, etc. just like where you are. Here in the south some areas don't even know what snow is.

Man, that's a such a wonderful looking dog!
I know having and raising a dog is a big responsibility - and that's why I don't own one.
However, I saw this kind before and thought to myself if I ever own a dog, this will be it!
Speaking of your dog's name, Memo, try this book called 'Momo' by Michael Ende - such a beautiful book.

I got him just some weeks ago, and he was already trained. The last weeks we have trained on lifting my legs, fetching telephone and turning lights off. He is also at work, were we trained on opening and closing doors, giving me my bag and carrying it to my classroom. And of course he needed to learn to fetch logs for the fireplace.

Momo I have heard a lot of praise about but never read. I think I will drop by the library today to pick it up. Nothing like sitting in front of the fireplace reading a good book with a cup of tea.

Where do you go after Texas?

What do you do after Texas?

You're just fooling yourself if you think there's something else

Cause there ain't nothing left after Texas

Written by Bucky Jones and James Martin Johnson

They are trying to get away from the cold, no doubt. And Texas is a good place, east Texas anyway. East Texas is almost as good as west Tennessee.

It's kind of awkward commenting on a thread when two or three people are in the middle of a conversation.

Today I got a call from my local bank.

They had discovered some irregular movements on my VISA card, and they notified me that it is most likely hacked. I was quite shaken by the news, but the card is now blocked, I get a new card, I haven't lost any money and everything is good. Sometimes it is good big brother is watching you.

The same has happened to me 4 times in the past. The first time it happened I was terrified and thought about canceling all my cards (I only use one of them). After the 3rd time I was like 'meh'...

I heard about somebody who was like that with heart attacks...

"Old Gerald had another heart attack, his sixth I think. First he called his insurance, then he called the doctor."

So a funny thing happened on the way to the Streams thread. I walked through three threads in a row that were asking the same basic question, "would you refuse to date a person if..."

The thought occurred to me that if you try to fit people's ideas of what you should be by trimming out the parts of you that they don't like, you will wind up being nothing. But that's just my opinion.

I should make an addendum to that: This is not in any way meant as a criticism of the threads in question or the people who started them. The threads that caught my attention are valid and timely. But the preponderance of them reminded me of the trend I have noticed lately where people are so afraid that anything and everything they do might offend somebody.
