You are the only other Left-Coaster that I know of that even knows what a Cuban sandwich is! Did you discover them when you were in Florida? I discovered them while stationed in Cuba at Guantanamo Bay. They are the only sandwich that I like pickles IN, and not on the side.

i fell in love with cuban food when i was living in brooklyn. lots of amazing ethnic cuisine and varied restaurants within walking distance.

also, there was the most amazing italian deli that would fish out giant mounds of fresh mozzerella from huge vats of water and make some fabulous sandwiches.

they also made the most AMAZING cubans along with the lovely fresh mozz, basil and tomato sandwiches that i can eat by the truckload.

i think i was at that deli every other day or so... ; )

I think both me and the dogs wore themselves out today. Inspections and appraisals for our house are OVER.

Sick girl at home, watched Frozen a few times and cuddling on the couch. I hate when my kids are sick, but cuddling on the couch is nice.

From yesterday until Sunday, my days are pretty busy. This Sunday, the church my parent's helped plant and that I attend on Sunday mornings is officially launching. We've been going for about 18 months now, but we needed more people who were committed and had leadership qualities before launching to the public. Not sure if that makes sense.

I am playing the box drum while singing a song with my parents (my dad on guitar, mom on piano). I'm a bit nervous as I've never really played the box drum, and it's an off-beat with the singing, AND I just learned the song this week. It's a fantastic song, though, "Build Your Kingdom Here" by Rend Collective Experiment We are practicing today.

I invited one of my unsaved coworkers to the launch service this Sunday. She said she's been looking for a church. Not for reasons that Christians do, but hey, it's a step in the right direction!! I'm excited and am praying for her and this Sunday, that all goes well and more importantly that God is glorified through all.

Sadness has been a part of my life for so long... and now that things are working out for me I'm too scared to be happy. *sigh*

well, i understand. i tend to be a person who operates largely from a place of low expectations so that i'm seldom disappointed. and i'm an unabashed optimist.

and under-promise and over-deliver. i always have been afraid of big expectations and hopes that can be dashed.

on the flip side, those things have helped me a lot in life, but they don't steal any joy from me either.

ems, i've been looking for you on chat. i thought you said we were gonna catch up!?!
