I was on the city bus returning home from a girls softball tournament this afternoon when something happened that would have fit quite neatly in a Povich or Springer show:

A man and woman board the bus with the mother carrying a little boy of about 1 year of age. She puts him very harshly on the seat and he starts crying. The man asks, 'why did you do that to the baby?' Then she walks away and sits away from both. The man follows her and again asks why she did that to the child and also asks, "why do you have to cause a scene in public, why is it that I just cannot communicate with you?" A woman with a four or five year old girl sees this and quickly moves to a different part of the bus. All throughout the ride the man continually tries to speak with the woman and all she does is say nothing despite the baby's tears. The man finally settles down the child but the woman shows no remorse for what she did.

They finally get off the bus in down town and you can still see that the woman wants no part of the man or of her own child.

It sure as heck wasn't a pleasant scene. Hate to speculate as to what will happen next. But if someone clearly has no interest in her husband or her own baby, it's a good bet she, like other women, will abandon both. Let's hope she will repent of her misconduct and do the right thing next time ...
Hate? I wonder if I should report such a harsh post. After all it is most unchristian. But in case you didn't know it, I coached women's and girl's sports since before you were born and spent thousands of hours doing so for free. Several were awarded scholarships and attributed their success in sports and later on in life to my teachings. I could go on about this but it is not worth the effort.
If you've spent so much time around women, why would you make blanket statements such as the one above? (Implying that every woman will leave her husband and family.)

My birth mother might have left me to whatever she thought fate might have had for me, but God gave me a mother in her place who would literally hop over church pews and confront kids who made fun of her children.

And, if need be, I have no doubt she'd take on the world to defend her family as well.

Could have been anger from anything...you don't know what she had experienced simply from seeing an upset reaction on a bus ride.

Sincerely,
a person who was once angry enough at someone to abruptly depart a joint subway ride in a strange city in the middle of the night without a game plan in order to calm herself down

Where does it say or suggest that I meant "all women"? Up to now we have discussed men and women who abandon their homes, not those who stay.

In the OP Tinkerbell says this: "[h=2]Why do men suddenly disappear?[/h]
Guys why do you do that? Walk away all of a sudden when things are going smoothly? Ladies how do you deal with such cowards who do the disappearing act?

Did she mean all men? My statement is no more a "blanket statement" than hers is. Yet, I don't see anyone accusing her of being a man hater for those words nor should there be any such accusation. Or perhaps you haven't gotten around to saying that about her as well (???).

You are correct in that I do not know her motivation even though they sat next to me. Hopefully she will soon learn how reporting such a scenario constitutes hatred for women. Maybe we might even learn eventually how asking about men who leave constitutes hatred for men.

Why don't all of these threads just suddenly disappear?

Perhaps I misread the tone behind your "it's a good bet she, like other women, will abandon both", though I'm not sure how that's possible.

And yes, I interpreted this as a blanket statement.

That and I've also read your other posts that talk about women going after men for the purpose of fame and fortune while stating several times that you're waiting for a rich heiress to walk into your life.

I guess I'm just late to a really bad joke.

I dunno about hating on women. After all, there are several with successful sports careers and truck loads of money in their pockets thanks to past efforts on my part. I would hope that shows that I love at least some women. :)

Not you, specifically. There are many women-haters on here. I don't think you're one of them.

Seriously, I think they disappear because of an old wound. My ex had to disappear. My twinbrother died. You unconsciensly look for someone who will also leave, to relive the pain, I once read from some house garden and kitchen psychologist we call 'em.
I don't want to date anymore because I am too clingy and they hate that. Afraid I idolized them. If you do a suicide attempt when your ex wants to divorce God wasn't first. But even if He is, I wouldn't dare to do it anymore. I expect too much. Only my other brother meets my needs. Say one word, he gets what you mean. After 15 years my ex still thought I was serious when I made a sarcastic joke. Sigh.
