Man, Tommy.

I'm afraid to answer, because I know that if someone had told me it was going to take me 20+ years to get past it, I would have hung myself on the spot. A lot of it has been my own fault though, because I kept clinging on to things God was trying to pry me away from.

I know it's different for everyone. Sometimes I read your post and they bring it all back, because I know some of the feelings you're describing all too well.

All I can say is, hang in there, day by day. When I ask God how He's gotten me through, He keeps telling me, "Day by day."

And I know that an hour in itself can feel like 3 days. All I know is that, over time... day by day, after many, many days... Sometimes, just sometimes, it didn't quite sting as much as it used to.

Keep reaching, Tommy. God is out there, I promise. And I know it doesn't feel like, but God is reaching back for you.

I'll be sure to keep you in my prayers.

God bless you.
Thank you ma'am.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Jeremiah 2:13
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Looking at a woman (anyone) with lust is a sin.

Matthew 5:28
New Living Translation
But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Can you masturbate without doing that?
The context would indicate a married man, as single men are not capable of adultery by lustful glances.

Are you talking about the context of the scripture? The scripture says "anyone", this does not indicate married men, the context is anyone and everyone.

Sex outside of marriage is adultery, how can you say single men are not capable of adultery by lustful glances, when the scripture says we commit adultery in our hearts when we do it?

Or maybe I'm misinterpreting your post, but I'm confused as to what your reasoning is.

The only way I know of to access posts further back than the 19 pages our profiles will hold is if you find the profiles of others who were around that time, but didn't make enough posts to push those old posts and threads out of the system in their profiles.

But finding people who've been around here this long, and posted enough to keep those old threads and posts in their records... is truly like digging up a fossil.

(Unless there's another way... But either way, I would imagine it would take a lot more time than it would be worth.)
I think you can find every post you ever made if it received a "like". It may be time consuming, but if you know the general time-frame of the post you should be able to find it.

On your home page click on likes received or likes given and scroll away!

Hi Ed! :)

Thanks so much for the suggestion.

I'm not sure what year CC started having "likes", but the first several years I was writing threads, they didn't have that option.

You also bring up a good question--I could be wrong, but I think CC only holds 19 pages of past posts for whatever category you try to look up in a person's history: threads, posts, and, I would guess, likes (though I haven't tried this one yet, but I know my earliest threads won't be there because that was years before the "like" option was available.)

Thank you so much though, I appreciate the suggestion. :)

Quite the theory...
What is the conspiracy behind getting Wild, eh, JamesW back? And why in the masturbation thread? This is very suspicious.

Welcome back! Nice having the touch of vodka and balalaika back in the discussions

I would imagine that the point is engaging in lustful thoughts = committing the sin?

Yeah I'd love for further clarification on her point, sounds like she thinks if you are unmarried you have a free pass to sin, something no one has. The person that liked her post can respond as well, as she seemed to have understood the meaning.

I say justifying sin instead of asking the Holy Spirit who was given to lead us into all truth, is dangerous. To each his own.
It is the Lord Jesus Christ that is leading us through the Holy Spirit into all truth and so we are to go before that throne of grace in asking Him because the Holy Spirit is NOT at that throne of grace to be answering our prayers.

Hebrews 4:[SUP]12 [/SUP]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.[SUP] 13 [/SUP]Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.[SUP] 15 [/SUP]For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.[SUP]16 [/SUP]Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

John 14:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me....[SUP]13 [/SUP]And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Scriptures tells us where the words of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit all comes from as the Holy Spirit will give all the credit and glory to the Son of God, Jesus Christ, for answers to prayers.

John 16:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.[SUP]15 [/SUP]All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Philippians 1:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:.....[SUP]11 [/SUP]Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Matthew 28:[SUP]18 [/SUP]And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth....[SUP]20 [/SUP]Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom as well as our Good Shepherd and first love. Time the bride of Christ start acting like He is.

It is important to know Who to exactly pray to in order to get help as well as wisdom from thereby honoring the Son.

Although the word "masturbation" is not in the scripture, it is "uncleanness" as listed as a work of the flesh.

Galatians 5:[SUP]19 [/SUP]Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,[SUP] 20 [/SUP]Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,[SUP]21 [/SUP]Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Listed in between lasciviousness which is sexual excessiveness and fornication which is sex before marriage, there really is no room for masturbation to escape as not being uncleanness.

Romans 6:[SUP]11 [/SUP]Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.[SUP] 12 [/SUP]Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.[SUP] 13 [/SUP]Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]For sin shall not have dominion over you:...[SUP] 16 [/SUP]Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?....19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

2 Corinthians 12:21And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

2 Peter 2:10But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Romans 1:24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Ephesians 4:19Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

Ephesians 5:3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

Colossians 3:5Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

1 Thessalonians 4:7For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

Romans 12:1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.[SUP] 2 [/SUP]And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Jude 1:[SUP]21 [/SUP]Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.[SUP] 22 [/SUP]And of some have compassion, making a difference:[SUP]23[/SUP]And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.[SUP] 24 [/SUP]Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,[SUP]25 [/SUP]To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

The underlined bold portion regarding that fear in Jude 1:23 is referring to the consequence in the bold in Galatians 5:21 of not inheriting the kingdom of God. It is not about loss of salvation; it is about not being received by the Bridegroom at the pre trib rapture event for being found in unrepentant iniquity and thus becoming a castaway to be received later on.

1 Corinthians 9:[SUP]24 [/SUP]Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.[SUP] 25 [/SUP]And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.[SUP] 26 [/SUP]I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:[SUP] 27[/SUP]But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
The prodigal son may have wasted his inheritance away for wild living and can never get it back again to be that vessel unto honor in His House, but he is still son for why there are vessels unto dishonor still in His House.

The call to repentance is now, to go before that throne of grace & ask Jesus for help to repent before the Bridegroom comes so they can be received by Him as a vessel unto honor in His House at the pre trib rapture event.

2 Timothy 2:[SUP]19 [/SUP]Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.[SUP] 20 [/SUP]But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.[SUP] 21 [/SUP]If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
