What I don't get is, even if this was actually Samuel, he still came up out of the ground. He still asked "why do you disturb my sleep?'' And then he turns around and tell Saul that he and his sons would be with Samuel tomorrow. Well we would still have to address the exact same problem with this interpretation, that it was actually Samuel that was speaking here. As stated before, according to the Lazarus story, Saul and his sons would not be in the bosom of Abraham with Samuel after dying the next day, or at least Saul wouldn't, because Samuel (if you believe this is Samuel) just stated that Saul was an enemy of God. So what's the problem with these scriptures? They clearly contradict other scriptures if this was Saul, or else the Lazarus story was indeed a parable and the dead go to the same place when they die. I can buy that God might have brought this spirit up to talk to Saul... I guess... if God wanted to, He obviously could have done that. But again, this scripture contradicts other scriptures if you believe God's prophets went to one place and God's enemies went to another after death.
