by the way...since we were talking earlier about 'all who have been slain upon the earth'...and since some people like referring back to the old testament prophets to interpret revelation...

jeremiah 51:49..."Indeed Babylon is to fall for the slain of Israel, As also for Babylon the slain of all the earth have fallen."

the slain of all the earth have fallen...for who?

-not- jerusalem...but actual babylon...

where was He crucified? why is that added to this verse?
the holy spirit maybe had john put that in there because God anticipated false teachers like you coming along...he wanted to give us an easy way of refuting your error...

Mark 7:13
Followers of Tradition

1The Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered around Him when they had come from Jerusalem,2and had seen that some of His disciples were eating their bread with impure hands, that is, unwashed.3(For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they carefully wash their hands, thus observing the traditions of the elders;4and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they cleanse themselves; and there are many other things which they have received in order to observe, such as the washing of cups and pitchers and copper pots.)5The Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with impure hands?”

6And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:

‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS,
BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.

7‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME,
TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’

8“Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.”

9He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.

................

Jesus, did you have an all consuming hatred for the Jewish people when you said the things you did above?
what did You mean about "their" tradition"?
was it the Oral Traditions which had come from Babylon?
which were later codified and written down AFTER the destruction of the Second Temple?

so, the Holy Spirit had John add the last part of this verse:

Revelation 11:8
Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city--which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt--where also their Lord was crucified.

to make CERTAIN false teachers would never try to equate the city - which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt - with Jerusalem.

because John meant it would be something else entirely, but he put "where also their Lord was crucified" to make it really clear where that great city (wasn't) and what it wasn't....he didn't mean city. he meant something else.

but he added where also their Lord was crucified to make it clear.

i wonder why no one has understood what he meant after 2000 years of trying to?

where also their Lord was crucified
....

what garbage.
eh.

I must agree Rachel. Since Babylon the Great is guilty of all of the martyr's deaths, it must be a age-long entity. No single city meets this requirement.

Is it possible that the ten kings of Rev. 17:12 represent the rulers (possibly controlling through economic means) who will head the ten districts already laid out in plans by the U.N. as their goal of future world governance?

Revelation 11:8

could you please explain using this verse, according to any theory other than that this great city is Jerusalem - where the Lord was crucified?

where was He crucified? why is that added to this verse?
what great city?
thanks....
This is interesting indeed revelation 11

King James Bible
The Two Witnesses
1And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot fourty and two months. 3And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
The Witnesses Killed and Raised
7And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the streets of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

Interesting God still calls Jerusalem the Holy city ,and scripture states Jesus was crucified outside of Jerusalem walls. As we have a understandning of scripture in Jeremiah and psalms that jerusalem is a city that is compact together only way you are inside the city its by the gates of the city also in John 19:20 when he was crucified was near the city . Now what is called sodom and egypt must be outside the wall of Jerusalem don't know what city near Jerusalem but i read the church that is in jerusalem the church of the holy sepulchre they claim that is where he was crucified and build a new wall some years ago im sleepy so i get back to this tommorow if possible God bless :)

The 2 witnesses are the Law and the Prophets!
Once you identify them, you cannot cast this place called Babylon the Great into the 21st century.
These were the two witnesses that were grounded in the Holy City Jerusalem and it's Temple,
and that was given to Old Covenant Israel.
Many of you have proven here, over and over that you cannot understand the language of the Prophets!
That's ok, John did not expect you to. But he would have expected the Jews in 50 and 60 and 70 ad, to!
The Temple was still standing!
Babylon was the last place and time the Jews had heard from their Prophets,
it was a significant place for them.
It would have held no significant's to anyone back then,
of some futuristic made up spiritual Babylon.
This is really bad theology, trying to cast every prophetic thing you don't understand
into the future to suit your needs. Spiritualising everything is an evil act,
that takes away form the historic text.
'...rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets,
for God has avenged you on her.....the voice of the bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in her anymore.....
and in her was found the blood prophets and saints, and all who were slain on the earth.....
the earth here meaning the covenant land.
God's Prophet's often spoke using global language,
when directing their prophecies towards a local place.
Just go back and read some of the Old Testament prophecies
that were fulfilled and spoken about in the Old Testament.
Even if you were taught different then this, when now you are accountable.
Why would you not think that this New Testament Document Revelation,
is not speaking about the same exact thing as the rest of the
New Testament documents.
That is making the Old Way obsolete:
The Holy City, Temple, People, and Land?
or using great hyper-bole,
or exaggerating as they (The Prophets) did, to get everyone's attention.
They (the Jews) were all fixing to die, or have to run for their lives!
Out of Jerusalem which had become a Synagogue of Satan.
So, John uses the language they would have understood,
these descendants of the Jews who were in exile in Babylon,
to describe to them what they had now made Jerusalem.
Babylon the Great Harlot!

Congratulations! You just got another person mad at you so you can report them. You do that quite a lot.

How many people have you gotten rid of that way?

Rachel was right.... You always post against the Jews. It's like a vendetta with you. The bible tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. All I ever see you do is put them down, along with dispensationalists, Pentecostals, charismatics, and anybody else you disagree with.

There are times you seem to speak out of both sides your mouth. Let me explain.

I've heard you speak so much about the NWO, the freemasons, and the illuminati with quite a bit of accuracy, yet you refuse to put two and two together between them and what Babylon the Great really is. Instead of looking at them, you look at Jerusalem. How could you get that so wrong?

The only logical conclusion I can come up with that describes you with one word is this: misinformation. When you have such accuracy with world events and governments and are totally wrong with end times of Scripture, it must be misinformation.

This little escapade of yours with Rachael looks all too familiar. You've done this several times with me.

Anybody that knows how you cover for your friends on this site knows what you just said isn't worth the electronic paper it's written on. Just another tactic to make someone look defeated. Rachel is a lot closer to it than anybody I've seen so far.
