1. look up your own verses
2. bring your own candy
3. give your own offering.

if you can make those small concessions, this might work out after all. :p
1. No
2. No
3. And No

Having said that, what time should I pick you up for our first date, Meggars? By the way, you're paying for dinner (I forgot to add that as number 4 on my list:

4. I want a Christian woman who will pay for all my grub!!!

"Freely you have received, now freely give to Descyple" (I'm almost positive that is how the verse goes!!!).

I think women do more rating and social jockeying than men do in the looks department. This is evidenced by hair and makeup and dress, if a woman really cared about what men think, they would bring them shopping for these things. A man's opinion would be invaluable to women, much like how women's opinions are perceived by men.

I believe that in the world of social politics, women use men's attention as a sort of currency to be exchanged for placement in the social order. However this is entirely different from the deciding factor that men use to gauge a suitable mate.

If a woman perceives an inequity of the attractiveness in partners, perhaps the fault does not lie with the people in the relationship, but with the people projecting their own rating on how things appear.

I have come to believe that any christian who says all they want is a good godly ''person of the opposite sex'' is a liar.
A liar to other people and unfortunately to themselves most of all

I have had this exact scenario happen within the last year.

Woman Christian ''all I want is a good godly man''
Man Christian ''all I want is a good godly woman''

Me '' Girl meet man , man meet girl''

Guess what , they didn't meet.

Guess why? Cause ''all I want is a good godly person'' isn't the truth.

There are other factors that matter. So please do no fool yourselves.

God above all but there are other factors.
If they say that is ALL they want, I would have to agree.

Wow...took a while to read all of that.

I would have to agree with the ladies who've said that they can't say that physical attraction does not matter. It does to me. It's not the most important thing, but it's there or it's not, and what I might find physically attractive from one guy to another might vary. Some guys have great hair. Some guys look awesome without hair. Some guys have amazing eyes (color unimportant). Some guys have great shoulders. Some guys have an incredibly confident (but NOT cocky) way of carrying themselves. Some guys have a smile that lights up a room. Some are uniquely quirky in a way I find fascinating.

From what I've seen, it's not so different with men. Some like blondes. Some like brunettes. Some like redheads. Some like tall ladies. Some like petite ladies. Some like athletic builds. Some like thin ladies. Some are into more curvy ladies. Some have a thing for eyes. Some like "fun" women.

Haven't you ever seen a couple and wondered how they got together or what the attraction was, whether it was the man or the woman that you, personally, thought to be more attractive than the other? They simply see something you don't.

I guess I've never been given any indication that looks are any more important to men than they are women. Just seems like perhaps they are more honest about it. I'm with DJ on this one. I created the godly man thread and it IS indeed the MOST IMPORTANT thing to me, but I want to spend the rest of my life being faithful to one man, so I'm not going to lie and say I would not rather be with someone I'm attracted to.

First... that old "does this make me look fat" joke has some truth behind it. Women DO want to dress in a way that will please their men.

Second... how many men actually WANT to go shopping with women for clothing?

42.37 times. :p

It's funny that every time a "What Men Want" thread comes up, looks/attraction is always brought up, but not so much on the women's threads. Guys are visual, but you know what, girls are too. I think that "Guys are visual" is as much of a cop out as "Girls aren't visual". Us females don't get to play the "We aren't attracted to how a guy looks, just his character" card. Can't we just accept that physical attraction does play a part, and if it plays too much of a part, do you really want to date that guy/gal anyway?

I think I agree with almost everything you write! It's so true! Girls are somehow seen as these deep, non-judging characters, but we definitely have looks preferences, too!

Within the context of a Biblical, Christ centered relationship..ie marriage, I'd love to see the woman I'm attracted to try on different stuff.

I have in the past. But truthfully only one relationship was I ever in where we shopped for each other. It takes a lot of trust and understanding to confidently wear something in public that someone else has picked out.

We actually challenged each other to wear what we bought for each other, without the other person's help. An entire outfit, sizes and all, worn all day to Magic Mountain. Strangely enough we got the idea from Top Gear. Sort of like a blind challenge, no backing out, except if it doesn't fit.

(not recommended for new or sensitive relationships)

When I switched from a dumbphone to a Blackberry (obviously, this was many many moons ago), I didn't mind quite as much. She can buy what she wants. What frustrated me more than anything was buying clothes FOR her, as a gift...things I knew she wanted, because she said so, and then she never wore them. I spent a couple hundred bucks on a few stunning sweater dresses from VS that she'd been fawning over for months, got them for her for Christmas, and she opened the box, acted delighted, and proceeded to NEVER wear them because she said she needed to lose 20 pounds first.

SHE said that, not me. Never even tried them on. So frustrating.

Okay, vent over. We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

Can PDA be involved? ^_~ (...but not too much, because that just annoys everyone else around you, but the nice classic stuff like holding hands most of the times, a quick hug or kiss, etc... ^^)

If that's the case, AND you get to see an outfit or two on the girl you love that make you blush a bit...hey! Sounds good to me... ^_~

Oh, and I'm not sure if I've responded elsewhere to this thread yet, so in case I haven't...

What Christen Men Are Looking For...

1. God.

2. A 'Good' Wife

...hmm...while this isn't mutually exclusive or collectively exhaustive, it is a pretty good generalization I think. If 'good generalization' isn't an oxymoron, anyway...

Buying clothes for other people is scary. I try never to do it. Going shopping with someone sounds safer.

(She should have tried them on! You get points for paying attention and giving a sweet gift.)

.Men are very shallow when it comes to looks. No one denies this....It's definitely not just a Texas thing.
men are not the only ones who are shallow when it comes to looks. women are too, we just don't admit it as often. (don't hate me ladies, you know it's true)
attractiveness is important. you have to be attracted to someone to want to get to know them. that doesn't mean that you won't end up with someone that you were not originally physically attracted to. someones personality can win you over without you being physically attracted to them, it just takes longer to figure it out.

Everyone's idea of attractive is different , so how can you say its wrong ? I'm a big girl, but some guys like chunky chicks ..lol I'm not blond, but hey.. that's ok. Its also not wrong for someone to not find me attractive... there are some guys I don't think are cute either. But my idea of "handsome" has also changed depending on the guys attitude and personality. Someone can completely lose appeal after listening to them for 5 minutes. Anyways I don't even know where I'm going here so I'm gonna hush :p

Your statement is not entirely true. While yes this is true men do want these things from a Christian woman, that's not all all men want. There are other things I look for in a woman outside of what you said. Not superficial things, but things that have to do with who they are as a person. I think this was a rather foolish statement that these things are the only things men want and you making it seem like as long as shes a loyal bible believing Christian that likes him, that's all he wants. I look for things like strength, wisdom, amongst other things. I don't want a weak woman. Not physically but Id like a woman with a strong mind. I don't want a woman that's overly emotionally driven, or a woman that will crack under pressure. I want a woman that's 100 percent real. Different men are looking for different things, and just because you have no standards outsid of a woman that likes you and is a Christian, don't think every other man is like this.

Lol ! Thank you sir... I felt like I needed to say something... just didn't know when to call it quits.
I have pretty crappy self esteem at times , but I noticed on days I hold my head high and pretend I'm confident.. people treat me different. I might even get a few smiles or a compliment or two. :) We gotta start treating ourselves like we want other people treating us.

When I hold my head high...
I bump into things.

But I have whole list of problems like that.
