And again...this is a complete misrepresentation of what was said. I made zero statements about who should and shouldn't be challenged. I simply pointed out that name-calling, etc. is inappropriate and unnecessary. It actually is possible to express a view on an opinion without going after someone's personhood.
Additionally, why is it the job of any of us to challenge someone's presence on the site? The only reason we would feel the need to do so is if we had a corresponding sense that we were somehow in charge. It's a little bit like me getting out of my car to "challenge" a fellow driver for speeding. I may be right about them speeding, but it's not my job. I have no authority. If you truly feel like someone is on the site inappropriately, "challenging" them on the boards is non-productive. You should send a message to a mod or to RoboOp and let them handle it.
The board was about a TOPIC not a person. It's illogical and over-emotional to go off on a person instead of addressing a topic. It can also (eventually) devolve into bullying, where the goal is to simply shut the person up by any means necessary.
If someone is unable to maintain Christian ethics in the face of contradictory opinions, then maybe opt out.
