Quote "Do you really believe that an embryo is capable of hearing a human voice and physically back flipping in her moms womb? "

Yes I do,the baby leapt with joy.I believe what it says. Of course I cant find a verse on "abortion" because no one knew what that word meant. The Bible says "the fruit of the womb is a blessing". In the OT a woman was considered cursed if she was barren. God takes life very seriously.

Isaiah 49:1. "The LORD called Me from the womb; From the body of My mother He named Me."

Psalm 139:13.For you created my inmost being;you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

If God knits us together or forms us what make you think He be ok with us destroying His creation?

It is a scientifically certain fact that the event of conception (or, perhaps more narrowly, fertilization) is the first event in the history of the human being. Prior to conception, what exists are a mother’s egg and a father’s sperm. When fertilization is complete a new human being is brought into existence that is genetically distinct from the mother and father and that exists as a distinct entity. Therefore, from the moment of conception what exists is a human being with potential for growth and full realization.. from Reasons to Believe.

Given that the unborn are human beings from the moment of conception, it follows directly that killing them for any reason other than in an attempt to save someone else’s life (that is, the mother’s life) is forbidden by the sixth commandment. It is unnecessary to prove that the unborn are “persons” in order to claim that their lives ought to be protected by law. The only thing needed is to point out that they are human beings. Let those who would defend abortion as a legal right say, if they can (and if they dare), that it is permissible to kill some innocent human beings.

God is not silent about abortion, its murder, its wrong.

Re-stating your position over and over again doesn't make it more true. If you believe it is even physically possible for an unborn fetus/embryo to flip inside the mother than you are not a reasonable person.

Your info says you are a Christian. Do you believe the Bible is the Word of God or dont you? The Bible says the baby leapt. You can call me unreasonable but you need to take up with God friend.I didnt write it. If you're calling me stupid for believing the Bible so be it. I think I'll take His Word over your sensibilities.

But lets forget what the Bible says about abortion.Tell me this. Why do most women have an abortion? According to the CDC 85 % of abortions are had by unmarried women. You do believe the Bible says sex before marriage is sin right? Well whether you believe it or not its in there and its definitely a sin. So we can skip the argument on the Bible being silent on abortion. It isnt silent on sex before marriage being a sin.No sex before marriage,85.5 percent of abortions never happen.Case solved.

I think this is just deflecting from the issue...a real Christian cannot and should not support the slaughter of these unborn babies.
NO...most modern liberal thought is a rejection of the true faith.

Strange. I am against abortion but I consider myself moderately liberal. So Mitspa you're saying I'm not liberal? By who's definition? And what makes that definition valid? And why are so many "liberals" not conforming to that particular definition?

Well since we are kinda trying to see the political side of the faith issue...I think there is a general understanding of what a liberal is or is not... I think because it is a political term, it would be almost impossible to define and have everyone agree on. And of course all things are relative to those who hold and use these terms.

Shammy knows full well God is pro-life. But once again we see living proof of 2 Timothy 4:3-4.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Ya politically there are platforms. Abortion is usually a liberal given where conservatives usually realize they wont get voted in if they are for abortion.

Big, big difference when you add the word moderate in there. By doing so you show yourself to have integrity and common sense.

This thread is one reason why I prefer to discuss specific issues, if politics are mentioned at all. People have such varying definitions of what "liberal" and "conservative" each mean, even if each is preceded with "moderate" or "social".

Those snacks must have been so conservative...

I don't even remember eating them.

But I'm sure I probably consumed them fairly liberally.

And now we get to what the vast majority of anti-abortion rhetoric is really about. People having sex you don't approve of and wanting to make sure they suffer the consequences.

You make a lot of claims about what the bible says and provide very little scriptural support. I get the feeling you have never actually read much of the bible.

I've slept with an arena of women, but I used protection and none of them ever became pregnant. Nope, its not about uptight people having problems with others having sex, its about respecting the sanctity of life. Please try again.
