This is where the truth of "there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus"...comes to our help...as we are growing in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus ( Notice it's never growing in the knowledge of sin )....when the trials of life and failures we have done are screaming at us - we need to fix our eyes on Jesus and His finished work for us.

The difference between the legalistic ( law-keeping ) mindset and the grace-based mindset I believe is the core of this discussion. Both mindsets believe what the fruit looks like as we are under the grace of God. The difference is how the fruit is produced in our lives. The legalistic mindset says " Stop sinning". The grace-based mindset says " Receive the grace of God and sin will not have dominion over you."

The legalistic law-based mindset says " Stop sinning and we will not condemn you. " Jesus says " I do not condemn you, now go and sin no more. " This acceptance grace of no condemnation gives life to us so that we do not have to continue in sin.

When we believe the gospel of grace it imparts the life of Christ inside of us to produce fruit. The legalistic mindset says "you do this" whereas the grace-based mindset says "Christ did it for you already". The legalistic mindset says " Be holy!" and you will be holy ( which is works based ). Grace-based mindset says " Be holy" because Christ has already made you holy. It is a matter of "being" who we already are in Christ. As we "see" who Jesus is - we become like Him in our outer behavior as 2 Cor. 3:18 states.

It is obvious that you have never heard what Joseph Prince says about how to overcome sin in the Christians life.

Hebrews 5:14 KJVS

Knowing who we are in Christ is the foundation of our Christian life...and it is growing in the knowledge and grace of Christ is how we are to walk that out in our life.

It's all about Christ! It starts with Him and ends with Him.

This knowledge of who we are enables us to "walk out" the life of God in this world.

Colossians 2:6-7 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

the easy fix I was referring to and many spout here is "just know who you are in Christ". Although very true, there is much more to our walk in Christ.

As you know, I commented that in a book I read people were healed of porn addiction, smoking etc. But i did NOT say other were not healed because of a lack of faith, but rather those who were healed of those things were healed because they followed the truth of grace.
Hope people are going to quote truthfully concerning what they read
Right, they were healed cause they followed the right formula...NOT..
Rather God's grace is unpredictable...that's where trust comes in.

oppsss..you forgot the verse that came before that..

The "meat" of the word is being unskilled ( inexperienced ) in the " word of righteousness "

This righteousness is Christ's which he gives to us as a gift! ( not something we do to get )

Hebrews 5:12-13 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.

Romans 1:16-17 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

They were healed by following the truth of the biblical message.
Do you not agree there is great power in the truth of the cross of Christ?

I love how understanding the "word of righteousness" allows us to discern both the good and evil of ...either working to establish our own righteousness and not relying on His righteousness.

Because we are the righteousness of God in Christ...we can boldly declare what He has done for us...we are complete in Him.....we have His love in us...His life...sin shall not have dominion over me..etc! It's a fabulous salvation we have in Him!

isn't hyper-grace good?

I love that scripture. Thanks for sharing it!

Not all the faithful are healed. God is sovereign, but yes healing is on account of the cross...more baby food.

Its ok , you don't have to keep impressing on us you are on the meat- a mature christian because of all the trials you have successfully gone through, we know now!

Well as this conversation started with two specific examples I gave of people being healed of pornography addiction and smoking are you saying not all the faithful are healed of those things if they want to be and follow the truth of the Gospel message?

I'm not allergic to doing. God has given us bodies for that privelege.

I never said I was successful at enduring trials etc. But it is no different than the mantra 'it's all Christ not us'... as if it is a new and great revelation...it's baby food.

Could you answer my question please

Didn't you say we grow, mature by going through trials and this brings us onto meat?
If you don't believe that i will happily apologise

The word of God says that everyone that came to Jesus was healed! We cannot base our life on our experience when it contradicts the scriptures.

No where do you see Jesus saying.."Nope..not going to heal you because you have more to learn ...Nope...you have too much sin in your life....no....you have a generational curse and until you repent you will be sick....No..can't do it...the Father in His sovereignty doesn't want you healthy as He has stuff for you to learn so you stay sick. " This is all religious garbage! It does not reflect the nature of our loving Father.

The Lord does not cause sickness. Why we all don't get healed is between us and our Lord. We can learn a tremendous amount about our Lord in the midst of it

This does not negate the truth that it is God's will for us the be healed. We cannot judge the truth of God's word by our experience!

If we did that then we would say because all people did not receive Christ..that means He doesn't want them saved..which of course is pure baloney

Acts 10:38 (NASB)
[SUP]38 [/SUP] "You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

I hear what you say, but all do not receive physical healing. However the comment you are responding to concerns a conversation between crossnote and i that started because I specifically mentions people being healed of pornography addiction and smoking.
I am hoping crossbote will confirm healing I available for ALL where those things are concerned if the truth of the gospel message is followed

The meat comes through trials and tribulations not canned formulas...

Hebrews 5:14 KJVS
[14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
This is very tricky to try and explain to people. But I know through years of reading your posts that you understand Grace.

The furnace of tribulation causes us to do something. It refines who we are and who we will be. It requires work, dedication and focus. Lots of it.

The hardest time of my whole life was when I was first coming to the Lord. I know He was the One leading me the whole way. He was the One refining me. Burning off and cutting away the things that were detrimental.

Was there hyper grace in this "growing" period, this chastening, this pruning? Yes, absolutely. Is there hyper grace afterward? Yes, there has to be. Otherwise all that work and pruning and refining would go to waste.

Ephesians 2:10 [SUP] [/SUP]For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

How was it possible that I had read the whole bible several times and yet did not know the importance or meaning of Love, Joy and Peace?

Because reading about Love, Joy and Peace doesn't cause you to experience Love, Joy and Peace... You think you have an intellectual understanding of what it means but this is leaning unto your own understanding. Experiencing the Lord Jesus Christ and what He does for us is what the whole bible is trying to lead us toward. But few, it seems, make it. It seems that people would rather talk about what they do and what is required of them.

When you tell people to do impossible things how are they supposed to perform them? There must be a higher reason for telling someone to do something that they can't possibly do. The whole world misses this point. Because it is hidden in clear sight. Veiled by arrogance.

IF people actually tried to do these impossible things they would have to come to some sort of conclusion. They would have to rely on something or someone that was other than theirselves. And this is when the veil of arrogance comes off...

Without me, you can do nothing.... That's a hard one to learn. Can you call yourself a Christian if you don't learn this? I can tell you, even though you don't need me to, that people do....

Can we learn and actually know anything without tribulation and sorrow? Is this given as a gift to drive us closer to the Lord?

It didn't seem like a gift at the time... But I wouldn't give it back for the whole world...

I agree..He purges the unbelief in Christ and His finished work out of us!..the unbelief in the "word of righteousness"

discern good and evil concerning righteousness:

Good = living from His righteousness and the "fruit" of His righteousness can be seen in our good deeds

Evil = living from our own works of righteousness and the "fruit" of that righteousness can be seen in our good deeds

Did you ever notice in Matt 7:21-23 where Jesus says..not everyone that says Lord, Lord to Me will enter the kingdom.

these people had the very the same outward "good deeds" as true disciples did. Jesus said..Depart from Me..you workers of iniquity.

Discerning of good and evil word of righteousness is what this is....they were establishing their own by good works..they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God...Jesus never knew them.

Righteousness is imputed, is declared and is worked in us through God's purging process...milk.
