Wow. Do you need a humility pill? Your pride is full tilt today.

Yes. God does say there are obedient and disobedient.

The apostle john agrees with God.

WHOEVER SINS has NEVER SEEN GOD OR KNOWN HIM, whoever is BORN OF GOD DOES NOT SIN.

The obedient are the children of God. they have true faith, so they obey (although not perfectly, they still sin, which is as you say, why they still need grace) which is why scripture says eternal life is given to those who obey,, Because those who aboy have true living faith, Which gives them eternal life, and CAUSES them to OBEY.

the disobedient are not saved, have NEVER been saved, and WILL NEVER be saved unless the repent, and receive Christ,so they can be given the right to become children of God, so they TOO can, AND WILL be obedient.

Aaah...we are SOOOOO capable of getting things mixed up, intertwined and backwards. I even began to see great victories and then somehow took that great blessing and...STILL, after all I had experienced and gone through, managed to begin towards some sort of pride with it! I began to...I don't know, just think things like...well, I am putting in time that they are not, or, I am taking it more seriously...so somehow, the victories I began to have in Him began to edge toward MY doing, and reward to me BECAUSE of my doing. When really, all that had happened is He answered my prayers for mercy and help! It shocks me how easily I can edge back toward thinking blessing comes to me by hard work instead of through sheer grace. I astound even myself.

thats why we have to fight it so hard. Our flesh i strong, We just have to remember, He is stronger!

Haha! And yet the harder I try to fight it, the weaker I become! Therefore I glory in my weakness because when I am weak (and see it) then I am strong! His ways are stupendous...

its when we think we are strong and start judging sinners, and/or OSAS believers that we get in trouble.. HA HA HA!!

We must always be like the tax collector,

here I am lord, Have mercy on me.. And then use me..If we come like the Pharisee, We are useless to God. This is before,. Or after salvation.

NO...we have a new heart now in Christ. People are confusing the works of the flesh with the thinking that it is coming from the heart.

I have a problem with the above definition.

Jesus says this
For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
Matt 15:17

Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
Matt 23:25-26

But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.
Matt 15:18

The above verses say defilement comes from the heart of a person.
Jesus does not talk about flesh, but what is within.

The works of the flesh are works done by those not of the Kingdom.
So the version or idea of the flesh quoted is not a version that is scriptural.
If you can build a scriptural model I would be happy to change my view, but it seems
fairly clear in scripture that the heart is the source of defilement.

Oh boy, Don't tell Peter. I just befriended, and agreed with someone who does not believe in OSAS..

Friendship, love, appreciation is a good thing. I think God had something to say about this.
I am always more interested in the why answers than the what answers.

Two people can believe opposite things for the same why reason, and not realise the what
is not that important, but often driven by emotion and circumstance.

I am not sure EG is ready for a friendship request yet, lol, yesterday was a defining moment...

I agree with you, peter.
G7's definitions and explanations confuse me sometimes because they seem to not match my experience of following our Lord (which could be just the way different people explain their experience) but then they also don't seem to match what I read in scripture either.

But, as always, it is possible that I am seeing only one side of the road and he the other...

Not sure I have an opinion on this yet - the flesh and the heart - those are huge topics addressed by many different passages in Scripture and we can't base our view on just one or two of them.

I hate it just as much as you do. However. Know that just because this can lead some to say it is ok to sin, Does not mean OSAS is not correct. It would be foolish to think this if it is not true.

Just as bad, are legalists, who claim you can lose salvation. who claim you have to live a certain lifestyle or you will lose salvation. Excusing all their sin with the excuse, I do not murder, have sex outside marriage or adultery, lie cheat or steel. so I am ok.. You sinners will go to hell.

This is just as dangerous, if not more dangerous that licentious behavior. Which God already condemned. in scripture.

What I have observed is when you say this extreme is wrong or that extreme is wrong, you
evil individual over there are in this group, you sinner, you will go to hell, misses the point.

Love and defence is so embedded in all of us, we use love like window dressing.
It is the realisation of Jesus and the cross that starts to change things.

But if you do not see yourself, how you react, how love can remake you, you freeze in
some kind of deep freezer.

You know how far Jesus has got in your life by how big a mess your emotional life still
is. But few want to talk about this, because it is too hard, too real, not beliefs or faith
but what we actually are inside. But who has actually made it to walk like Jesus?
Very few. Who even grasps the concept of victory over their emotional reactions, which
spin out of control? Again, very few.

Do you think this is what Jesus called us to?

EG said I had pride. And yes I have pride, I like being known as certain things and not
others. I know this when I feel hurt when it is missing.

But no to walk with Jesus is to admit defeat of ones own solutions and to learn to trust.
But so few of us trust another individual, deeply in our lives, and often not our spouses.

But we are called to be family, one body, one in mind and thought.
I do not think many of you really understood what you have bought into or how hard this
is. Jesus called it impossible, but possible for God. I am beginning to see how this is true.

I would say we need to talk to Grace and get his context and interpretation of what the "heart" is and not just assume. Other than That What Peter said I would agree with (in peters context)

I wish I had a full view. I am a work in progress, but I see if I am to take purity
seriously I need both a moral view, a spiritual view, a biblical view and a psychological view.

I have a few fragments. I go emergency to anyone who says I am bipolar, flesh evil, spirit good,
conscience bad, law condemnation, faith innocent, responsibility none.

I agree for the most part, but will say, We do need to seek. And allow God to show us our true heart. and feelings, and ask him why we do things.

As for pride. When we get to proud that we are stern in what we belief, and proud of that believe, We in dangerous territory. We better pray to God we are right, because if we are not (in some areas) eternity will not be a happy place.

That is where humility comes in.. If I am not open to change, and the fact I may be wrong.. I may spend eternity regretting that pride. To me, eternity is too long for me to be proud of anything.

Blessings, Peter, What an admission after the drubbing you got from EG yesterday! If you put in a friend request to him, we might get a shout that goes all the way through CC!!!!!!!!

There was one part of peters post that I saw a bit differently. It was where he said that works of the flesh were done by those not in the Kingdom. I am capable of those works of the flesh such as murder in my heart, even though I have His Spirit. But it gets confusing too because what some mean when they say "works of the flesh" is different than what scripture is calling works of the flesh in the verses peter gave. What they mean when they say works of the flesh, I would define as: trying to perfect myself by my own hard effort.
