I hate it just as much as you do. However. Know that just because this can lead some to say it is ok to sin, Does not mean OSAS is not correct. It would be foolish to think this if it is not true.

Just as bad, are legalists, who claim you can lose salvation. who claim you have to live a certain lifestyle or you will lose salvation. Excusing all their sin with the excuse, I do not murder, have sex outside marriage or adultery, lie cheat or steel. so I am ok.. You sinners will go to hell.

This is just as dangerous, if not more dangerous that licentious behavior. Which God already condemned. in scripture.

Amen!! Both groups make me so mad I could . . . I could . . . . I could . . .

Well - if believed in OSAS - I could get mad and punch them and still get to heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But since I don't believe in OSAS I will dutifully keep my emotions inside and dress right and look right (and let the hypocrites keep living the way they are)

LOL! :)

when you make a break in a persons response and want to respond to that, You end where you want to stop by using ?quote which is surrounded by []

when you want to quote after that, You can just use the quote button on the format bar in the reply tab (the farthest button on the right,) remembering that the end if the response you are responding to will have a /quote box. so it must them be erased.

It can get confusing..lol

Thanks! I will have to try it - sounds complicatedly simple!

Eg, you are on the road.
I think (but could be wrong) that the thing God has put on the hearts of men like eph and chester is concern for those who have been told they are on the road when they really aren't.

That concerns me also. A great deal, thats why when I suspect someone never got on the road. I push, Sometimes too hard. I admit..

Except those people did not run the road not because the lost their way. But because they never got on the road to begin with.. Thus could not have fallen.

I hate it just as much as you do. However. Know that just because this can lead some to say it is ok to sin, Does not mean OSAS is not correct. It would be foolish to think this if it is not true.

Amen - I agree . . .

About those "legalists who claim you have to live a certain lifestyle or you will lose salvation" - and all those who think that it is works that keep you saved: "I hate it (them) just as much as you do. However. Know that just because this can lead some to say it is ok to sin (or to become bigoted legalists), Does not mean (non) OSAS is not correct. It would be foolish to think this if it is not true"

LOL! :)

I believe there is something you are not seeing. You say murderers and adulterers will not inherit eternal life. And this is true. But anger in your heart is murder, in spirit and truth. This is how Paul could say murderers will not inherit but then could say - but you who condemn them, why do you do the same thing? It is a Pharisee who condemns a man who murders outwardly if he is doing the same thing inwardly.

I have seen that. It is credited the same. For someone to physically murder someone, they first have to have the hate and intention in their heart before they carry it out. And Jesus says if the intention is there, you're already guilty of it- so both murderers (the one who physically carries it out and the one who does not physically carry it out, both fall into the category of murders, and will not make it into heaven (unless that is something they used to be, but have repented and no longer live that way).

But we're talking about believing you are saved even though you put no effort into obeying. In Matthew 25, the man being spoken of was genuinely his master's servant. But his master told him he was a wicked and lazy servant. And what became of the lazy (no effort) servant? He was cast out into the darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. God is showing us we must obey.

That concerns me also. A great deal, thats why when I suspect someone never got on the road. I push, Sometimes too hard. I admit..

Except those people did not run the road not because the lost their way. But because they never got on the road to begin with.. Thus could not have fallen.

You push people from one side and I will coax them from the other side!!

(Not sure what I said or mean above - but it sounds good at least! -- I better quit here or this funny streak I am on will get me in trouble!)

But, like my first sentence, a OSAS said he puts no effort into obeying God.

That does not prove anything, For all we know. the person was never saved, Or it could be the person was telling the truth, A child of God has a new nature, It takes no effort to act like your nature, But it takes great effort to act like your old nature..

So I would have to see the context, and will not judge him or anyone else.

God does choose- He says murderers, homosexual offenders, drunkards, swindlers, etc will not inherit eternal life. So there is a group of people that will, who are they?

Yes, And paul also said, "And such were some of you, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the lord Jesus Christ, He never said they were cleansed because they stopped. It said they were washed because God washed them. why did you leave that part out??

You ask how do you know if you are sinning too much. Well, you know the difference between visiting somewhere and living there, right? Those who LIVE in sin are sinning too much- such as those who live in fornication, or as a daily drunkard. When I smoked, I smoked less and less until I quit- if you fast toward it, you see my u-turn- which repentance means turning away from sin. But those who do not put forth effort to change live in it, wallow in their sin like pigs wallow in mud, with no effort to crawl toward the sprinkler to clean the mud off.

oh ok, So if I sin once or twice i am ok, If I sin .. wait, I still do not know the cut off. You said people live in sin. What about John, He said a child of God can not sin, he has been born of God.. So again I ask, what is the cut off.. No one can know if they are good enough by what you just stated.. All they can do is guess..

Its like an athlete who misses the mark. Say they stand behind a white line, and have to jump over the other white line some distance away, but they don't make it that far, they miss their mark. (And sin means missing the mark or target). Well Christ makes up the difference for us as a gift. And the reason He chooses to do that for us is because we are trying. Now to the one who sits before the line and expects Christ to go the whole distance for them, hoping to win His favor simply because they made a point to be there, Christ will not intercede, and they will be disqualified.

Oh, I get it.

However, Did you forget, ALL have sinned and miss the mark, There are NON RIGHTEOUS, no not one. I find it amazing you judged the osas believer for saying it was ok to sin, But here you are justifying your own sin.

You know. Like when you sin, your sin does not stink, But when he sins, Because he did not work hard enough to jump far enough, His sin stinks and will condemn him to hell.

You are preaching law sis. There is a mark, I fear you do not know what that mark is.. There is a line which we can jump to to save ourselves. But I fear you do not know where that line is, Would you like to know? God tells you..

The Bible says that if we sin willfully there remains no more sacrifice to cover our sins. And Paul said he ran the race (not had Christ do it for him), and that he made his body obey him so that he didn't get disqualified for the prize (salvation). As long as you are actively moving forward you are in the race But if you stop and sit down (stop your effort to not sin), and the race ends while you are idle, you will not win. Whatever stops growing dies, we must grow in Christ. Why would the Bible say not to go back on what you have already attained if it is not up to us to attain?

We don't obey God to pay for our sins. God does not accept our obedience as payment. That's like trying to purchase a mansion with zero money. God does us a favor, and He does it because even though we can't afford it, He is pleased with our effort to try.

1, Paul did not run the race to be saved, He ran the race because the christian life is a race. We only have a certain amount of years to do Gods work. and if we sit still and stop running, we will miss out on alot of work, and alot of rewards..
2. So you are sinless?? Or your sin is ok, because yuo did a booboo, you did not curse that person willfully, or willfully go over the speed limit, Or willfully refuse to serve a person in need because that person was your advirsary??

yes, These sin are evil and according to james, You do one of these sins, and you are condemned by the law.

Amen - I agree . . .

now I can agree with you here.. :p

sometimes we need funny.. break up the nasty,,lol

Even jesus would speak in funnys sometimes (for those who get what he was saying)

Oh boy, Don't tell Peter. I just befriended, and agreed with someone who does not believe in OSAS..

LOL!! LOL!! LOL I love it! You two need to sit down with Arminius and Calvin when we get to heaven and tell them a thing or two!

HAHA! Except, I think magenta and I would say, there they are! And when we got closer, they would hold up their hands and say, don't say it - we already know!

Yeah, I agree - They would say - "We already know . . . that Chester has it all figured out - let's sit down and let him tell us all about it!"

Ah - I am getting out of here - I told you my funny streak was going to get me in trouble and EG only kept egging me on!

Now I am getting close to posting pure bigotry and heresy!

LOL! :)

I see that I was wrong and that you DO see it. :) This is a pet peeve of mine because of the great error I fell into in trying harder and harder to be good in my heart rather than seeing quickly that I could not do it and that just as salvation is by faith and faith alone, sanctification is also by faith and faith alone. Because seeing that I was a murderer did not fix the problem. It made me more truthful, but it didn't make me good in my heart.

Based on recent replies, I see Universalist Doctrine coming through the seams.....smh....

I already said there are none righteous, that there would be no need for grace, but that as an estimate, God still calls them obedient or disobedient.

You are not hearing- which makes sense, because you have to have ears to hear and eyes to see.

One of the OSAS believers on here told me that he doesn't seek sin out, but that he puts no effort into not sinning. He believes that Jesus does everything for him, so no effort on his part is needed. This is so unbiblical.

I can understand what he means by saying this, but it is because I put such great effort into trying to be good in my heart but then would always fail because someone would come along and step on my toes. And then I would fall into depression at my failure and get up and try harder. But then someone else would come along and the cycle of failure to depression to trying harder would just repeat over and over. I saw the wicked motions of my heart, but I kept failing to stop them. When I became exhausted enough in my flailing about and said, I can't do it. If my heart is going to be good, it will be because You do something. I give up - then I began to see great victories over my murdering and depression. Actually, the depression was just wounded pride!

I already said there are none righteous, that there would be no need for grace, but that as an estimate, God still calls them obedient or disobedient.

You are not hearing- which makes sense, because you have to have ears to hear and eyes to see.

Wow. Do you need a humility pill? Your pride is full tilt today.

Yes. God does say there are obedient and disobedient.

The apostle john agrees with God.

WHOEVER SINS has NEVER SEEN GOD OR KNOWN HIM, whoever is BORN OF GOD DOES NOT SIN.

The obedient are the children of God. they have true faith, so they obey (although not perfectly, they still sin, which is as you say, why they still need grace) which is why scripture says eternal life is given to those who obey,, Because those who aboy have true living faith, Which gives them eternal life, and CAUSES them to OBEY.

the disobedient are not saved, have NEVER been saved, and WILL NEVER be saved unless the repent, and receive Christ,so they can be given the right to become children of God, so they TOO can, AND WILL be obedient.

I already said there are none righteous, that there would be no need for grace, but that as an estimate, God still calls them obedient or disobedient.

You are not hearing- which makes sense, because you have to have ears to hear and eyes to see.

by the way, Did you want to go over what the "mark" is and how far away the white line is that we would have to jump to save ourselves?
