I believe we are free from curses, but of course other people's choices affect us, as well as our own bad choices. I once heard somebody say the two curses we are not free from yet is pain in child birth and having to eak out a living.

Eve was deceived by the serpent, Adam wilfully sinned. Both sexes are responsible but the blame rests on Adam as the God-made chief of humanity.

blame?

what's the point in that if the Bible declares all have sinned?

thanks for absolving all women though...haha (jking)

what happens to curses if Jesus became a curse for us when He was crucified?

still in effect? some folks seem only to happy to say 'yes'

Lauren since the first day we interacted I didn't understand you and I actually thought you were a troll until I saw the amount of posts you have. Maybe I am being judgemental when I see your posts... I don't know. If I am I have to work on myself because I am the kind of person that will either like you..... or not. And in your case it was or not. I am struggling with this and for that reason I am going to excuse myself from chatting further on your forum.

It is not you it is me.

Please accept my apology.
apology accepted

thank you

I simply made an answer to the subject "Are women under a curse?". The curse made due to Adam's and Eve's deed basically has nothing to do with we are as the new creatures in Christ.

The curse made are still there as we still die our physical death. It has nothing to do with how we are new creatures in Christ. That's the point I was trying to make.

thanks for clarifying...I guess I was a little quick on the draw there...sorry

yes...no one gets out alive..I'm one of those people who will ask an awful lot of questions and turn things over and over

God is used to that...some folks here are not!

I don't follow that we accept curses if we are a new creature in Christ..old things passed away and all things now new

but we have to walk that out...and it was intended that way...I will hold that we do not understand all we have lost and there is pretty much no use in trying to figure it all out

however, we have to believe what God tells us and we either are or we are not any longer under a curse

do we feel the effects? of course we do...but believing scripture is not making a choice in what we believe...for me, it would be taking it all, considering it, putting it before God, and just saying what we think about it all and asking Him to clarify it for us and for sure, some believers are going to be gangbusters ahead of others

but God says we will find Him when we search for Him with all of our hearts

so, do we pursue or do we say...well...that's what I have so that must be what God has for me

I would choose the first...how alive in Christ are we?

sorry this is so long..I'm thinking out loud...or posting out loud I guess

Surely in Christ we are under blessing not a curse :) . We are new creatures in Him, looking to put off this flesh of death which lusts against the spirit. And women, you know yourselves that you are not only under blessing but are a blessing! "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, AND receives favors from the Lord"

I often find I am jealous of the female mystic who have such a deep intimacy with The Lord. They perceive him rightly as their King, their Lord, their bridegroom who has courted and wooed them and won them to his heart , longing forever to be a prisoner of His love, to serve in perfect obedience for the man who has promised Himself to us his bride forever! What a holy marriage , what a furious romance. And I get lost in it too ! Swimming in the ocean of his love as His bride. But one stupid image of me in a wedding dress, or "dude bromance", or "gay" from probably the tiniest most annoying powerless demon or tempter is enough to sidetrack my thoughts if only for a moment . I'm very jealous of women in this regard because they can picture themselves utterly dependent, completely weak, captivated and enamored in the loving arms of our bethrothed King of glory, in splendid romance with no distractions from the world, fully dependent on His love and strength for each breath they take. Surely we will be transformed on that day, and all will feel the same adoration for Christ our bridegroom ... But now, the limited minds and imagination we have, well it seems women have such a wonderful advantage in imagining the blissful romance with the Lover of our souls!

So yes. Women in Christ are 100% under blessing and not curse!
who are you? LOL!

I read your other post in the family forum and was struck by your different attitude

I'm really not quite all that you have described...I find myself with a sword in my hand more often than not...meaning spiritually speaking...but not by choice

God did give that sword to me on a memorable day...and quite plainly spoke to me and told me He was putting it in my hand, but He knows His creation and I prefer to be an explorer

but thank you so very much for your words and stating that women are both blessed and a blessing!

so refreshing!

I should have posted Gal 3:27 as well. I think it seems to be saying we put on Christ, I think in Christ there is no curse as He has been glorified.

Although alot of the threads in the Family forum contradict that a wife's desire shall be (only) for her husband.. Seems both husbands and wives desire other people's husbands and wives also.. :/ JMO
lol it may interests you to know that the Hebrew paints this curse for daughters of Eve in a slightly different way.

Genesis 3:16
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to {אֶל} thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

אֶל meaning "against" as the short definition.

Translated in scripture as:

- Against (162 times)
- Over (23 times)
- [facing] Toward (75 times)
- Before (11 times)

So we have something like..."and your desire will be {set against} your husband, and [yet] he shall rule over you." In other words, she'll oppose him from then on and yet he'll lead. This makes better sense and also fit's the crime since Eve led Adam instead of he leading her. It also pretty much explains why today...{mumbles quietly}...but thank God we're all new creatures in Christ. :D

Jesus in His death, resurrection and ascension paved the way for believers to receive their glorified new bodies. So I think Enoch and Elijah went to be with God, but they weren't yet given their glorified new bodies. After all, they were still Old Testament prophets.
This is accurate and I believe the reason why is because Elijah And Enoch are most likely the 2 witnesses that prophesy in the book of Revelation and then are killed and are then raised to Heaven....

I agree..I believe people before Christ's resurrection went to Sheol - a holding place for the righteous until they could be redeemed by Christ. This was also called "Paradise" by Jesus when talking about Lazarus and the rich man.

There is always so much more to think about in these things...lol
Jesus also went to Sheol to release them...many have a hard time with the fact that Jesus went to Sheol, but he had to, so we would not have to go...

We see evidence of this in Psalm 16.10
For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol;
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

LOL...Amen...I have heard stories of people that were teleported by the Spirit from one place to another . Of course we have the story of Phillip in Acts too experiencing the very same thing.
My Parents were friends with Missionaries that were in East Berlin during the 70's and the height of the Wall and cold war....They gave us a testimony at the dinner table one night...they were smuggling Bibles into a small town on the east side of Germany and they were stopped a ta checkpoint...the guards came out and were cocking their weapons and leveling them at the car and our friends began praying....he said that it was about noon and as they began to pray and they saw a light and it was like the light from the most beautiful sunset they had ever seen...it filled the whole car....they then "became conscious of things" again and they were at their final destination, which was the small town about 250 miles from the check point...they unloaded the Bible with the help of the people of the underground church, had a small service and drive back to East Berlin....when they got to the csame checkpoint they gave them their papers and the papers show they had been cleared at the same checkpoint when they had first arrived...10 hours later....and were waved through without even a stop.

They then talked about a time at fellow Christian friends apartment in East Berlin, they were eating dinner and all 4 of them started praying...the secret Police broke in and as the 4 of them prayed they could see the secret police and soldiers but the secret police and soldiers could not see them...they watched the men search the entire apartment, but not once did they see our friends and the other Christians...they said the leader of the secret Police lit a cigarette in the apartment and they could even smell the cigarette, but not once were they ever seen....

My Dad told them.....He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High.....Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

They looked at Dad and said...darn tootin! :)

They were born into a body of death, flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God .They were part of the curse most likely used as a parable .
1 Cor 15.50
[SUP]50 [/SUP]Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

The kingdom of God is not the Kingdom of Heaven...Jesus said in Luke 17.21 that the Kingdom of God is within you....

Paul was saying only your Spirit can inherit the Kingdom of God.....he was not referencing the Kingdom of Heaven...the physical abode of God...

Jesus said in John 3.13, that no man has ascended to Heaven...

[SUP]13 [/SUP]No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.
