We don't go in and out of Christ. That's religious nonsense and denies the work of Christ on the cross and resurrection. It turns the gospel into a works-based perversion that actually nullifies the grace of God in Christ that is needed for the Christian to live and experience the promises of God in this life.

I have told you about a dozen times already and this will be the last time as this is just a complete waste of time. Once a person is saved - they are saved
. Hence the term "saved" in the first place. There are 100's of scriptures that show this truth as I and others have put up constantly.

How does one leave God? How does one get Jesus out of the new creation that is in Christ? As I have said dozens of time - you can have sick thinking in our minds because of false teaching - such as this lose your salvation doctrine.

Tell a person that God puts diseases on people ( like a parent's child ) to teach them things and that person will get bitter in their minds but God will be faithful to them all and show His true character and nature to them eventually. Love never fails.

True biblical faith and salvation is of the heart - the spirit of man where the inner man becomes sealed with Christ and of course Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will be with you forever. Jesus is not a liar. I believe Him.

He will be faithful to reveal His true self to all of us. Have a good rest of your day!
What do you mean...

I have told you about a dozen times already and this will be the last time as this is just a complete waste of time.

Who are you?
The supreme knower of all that is true?
What makes you think I need YOU to teach me anything?

Why not get off your high horse and start practicing what you preach.

Just because I don't agree with you because Jesus and the bible don't agree with you,
is no reason for you to feel you have to TEACH ME ANYTHING.

§Because you cannot accept the TRUTH, is no fault of mine....

You explained my answer, that is the whole point if we are truly saved by His grace we do these thing naturally, not forced as if we don't do them we are not saved, they are the natural outcome of saving grace, it's not a work of the Law. They are works that God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. It is still God, He prepared them before we were saved for us to walk in, not work in them.

I think where we are differing is that I see it as all God's work that we walk in and you see it as our work that we must do to stay saved, if I'm wrong I'm sorry. Maybe you can explain it better. It's like where Peter says "be you holy, for the Lord is holy" many see that as, I must be holy because the Lord is holy. Where others see it, I am holy because the Lord is holy. Am I explaining myself to where you are understanding? Because I know that my explanation are not the best.
The dialogue is good now. Let's pursue this.

God has a work which he desires each one of us to walk in.
The Devil has a work which he desires each one of us to walk in.

Jesus was manifested to destroy the works of the devil.
[h=1]1 John 3:8New King James Version (NKJV)[/h] [SUP]8 [/SUP]He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

The works of the Spirit are of God
The Works of the Devil are the Flesh

The choice you have, now that SIN is no longer your master, is to walk according to the Spirit. This is the victory of Christ on the cross, and His resurrection.

Do you yield to this new life in Christ? Or your old sinful nature.

We still have free will. It's just that now we have a new master. And if the Son sets you free you are free indeed.

You just don't get it. I understand.

I could ask you the same question.

Adios senorita
Here we go again.

I DON'T GET IT....

Seems as though those who DO NOT AGREE WITH YOU
Just don't GET IT.

Did you go to the same theological school Grace 777 went to?

ONLY YOU know the truth?
And those who don't agree wih you JUST DON'T GET IT.

This is rather insulting.
Persons here just do not know how to discuss doctrine without insulting Others.
Very unfortuate.

Get over your bad experience with the Catholic Church.
Love your brethren in Christ.

Try to learn THE TRUTH.
YOU don't have the truth.
Go back and read what the early Church fathers thought about eternal security.

IT WOULD DO YOU GOOD.
Work out your salvation in fear and trembling.
GOD IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW.

He DID NOT change after the year 1,500.

Find out what Christias thought BEFORE the year 1,500.

It's a good idea.

Not understanding the new creation in Christ, not understanding the circumcision of Christ, not understandi9ng our "union" as one spirit with the Lord. 1 Cor. 6:17

1 John 3:9 and 1 John 5:18 becomes a theological nightmare because it is impossible for the one born of God to sin and we know that all Christians sin in some form or other.

This verse here in 1 John 3:9 says the same thing basically as 1 John 5:18...it says that the one born of God cannot sin.

I don't believe the new creation in Christ can sin as 1 John 3:9 and 1 John 5:18 speaks about
.

1 John 3:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

The new man in Christ cannot sin - it is impossible for the one born of God to sin - the inner man that is in Christ where Christ dwells in us by the Holy Spirit of which Jesus said would be in us forever. John 14:16

It is definitely in the present tense which means "doing a sin now". Present tense is always present tense. Whether it is one sin or a thousand sins. I don't believe the new creation in Christ where Christ dwells can be contaminated or touched by sin.

What happens to our spirit where Christ is joined as one with us when we sin if the theory that sin can reach our new man in Christ - which has been created in righteousness and holiness. Do we go in and out of righteousness because it is NOT our righteousness but Christ's alone?

Let's say we sinned ( and whatsoever is not of faith is sin so this could mean any type of sin ) and then we die in a car crash just after we got angry at someone and called them a name ( which Jesus says is a sin in Matt 5:22 ) - we have lost righteousness and thus not able to go to heaven?

There are so many problems when you really stop to ponder the ramifications with the theory that we lose our righteousness because sin touches the inner man in Christ.

We can sin by yielding our members in our flesh if we yield to it and we are responsible with what we do in our bodies. Take up shooting heroin in your arms today and we will experience this destruction quickly.

1 John 5:18 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

Jesus is keeping us from the evil one in our new creation in Christ.

I agree with the above.

I don't agree with the above and that because they are referred to branches, meaning that they are believers who produce no fruit. He tells his disciples and us, that we need to remain in him. If a believer turns back to willfully living according to the the sinful nature they are not remaining in Christ. In the same way, James 5:18-19 refers to those he is speaking to as "brothers" which would mean that that are true believers would have wandered from the truth. If someone turns them back from that state, they will hide a multitude of sins and save that soul from death.
I have a question can you explain how a branch cuts itself form the vine? Because you are reading into verse 6, it says nothing of a branch that abided in Him then does not abide in Him, it simply says a branch that does not abide in Him will be gathered together and thrown in the fire (paraphrase). Remaining in the context the Father is the vinedresser or He prunes the branches and I do not see any where it mentioning the Father pruning any branches or can you give the verse?

As far as James say nothing about a brother wandering off, he says brothers, if anyone
among you wanders off, no mention of any brother wander off. Again reading into the Scriptures or can you show us where it says a brother that wanders off?
But let us deal with the brach cutting it's self off first.

Screen dump:

The Standard of Sinless Perfection

We have read a myriad of to-and-fro answers from both camps in CC over this particular topic.
Let’s see some of the scriptures which grieve those who are against sinless perfection:

Romans 6v1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? [SUP]2 [/SUP]Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
Romans 6v15 [SUP]15 [/SUP]What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
Romans 6v22-23 [SUP]22 [/SUP]But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. [SUP]23 [/SUP]For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8v12-14 [SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. [SUP]13 [/SUP]For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. [SUP]14 [/SUP]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
1 John 3v4-9 [SUP]4 [/SUP]Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.[SUP]7 [/SUP]Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. [SUP]8 [/SUP]He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

ALL OF THIS IS WRITTEN TO THE CHURCH. Not to outsiders.

So the jackpot questions are these:

  1. Is the above possible?
    1. If you say “yes” – then you agree with the Word of God. For that (above) is what it says.
    2. If you say “no” – then you are is denial about the Word of God. For the scriptures are plain to see.

  2. If God has a Holy Standard, would it be sinless perfection, or something less?
    1. If you say “sinless perfection” you agree that the Lord is Holy. Without Holiness Nobody will see the Lord. 1 Peter 1v15-16 [SUP]15 [/SUP]but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, [SUP]16 [/SUP]because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”[SUP][c][/SUP] Elsewhere it is written: Hebrews 12 [SUP]14 [/SUP]Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: [SUP]15 [/SUP]looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; and elsewhere it is written: Matthew 5v48 [SUP]48 [/SUP]Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
    2. If you say something short of sinless perfection; you deny the Lord, for He is the essence of Holiness. He can never make the standard lower than perfection.

The Apostles Paul and John wrote the above scriptures under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. They are truth. Now you are presented the opportunity to either accept them and ask the Lord to give you understanding, or reject them, and lose out the treasures of what the Lord God wants to reveal to you next. If you really want to press into Him, if you really want the overcoming life, then take the above scriptures as the Gospel truth. We are to rise to this standard, and not drag this down to man’s standard.

How is the above state achieved? How are we to live according to this standard?

The clues can also be found in Romans 6
Romans 6v3-11
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? [SUP]4 [/SUP]Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.[SUP]5 [/SUP]For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, [SUP]6 [/SUP]knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For he who has died has been freed from sin. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, [SUP]9 [/SUP]knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The above is received by faith. It’s your faith in ACTION

  • Reckon yourself DEAD TO SIN
  • Reckon yourself ALIVE TO GOD IN CHRIST JESUS THE LORD

Here is the clue:

  • You can NEVER overcome sin unless you dethrone sin in your life by identifying your old man dead on the cross. Crucified with Christ (Gal 2v20). Pick up your cross daily (Luke 9v23).
  • You can NEVER live the resurrected life in Christ (living in the Spirit) unless you go through the cross and identify your new man alive in Christ. You are a new creation (2 Cor 5v17). Born again (1 John 5v4 ; John 3v3). Christ living in you (Gal 2v20)

If you tell yourself “It’s impossible to stop sinning” you by FAITH restore the power of Sin over your life. You re-enthrone Sin as your Master. Is that really what you want? It may be so, that that is what you want. But that’s not true Christianity. Christianity is not a democracy. There is a King. And this King is Lord. And He is Jesus Christ. And what He says, you should heed.

Now, the above being said, namely (A) God’s standard (B) How this is appropriated ----- let’s move onto (C) the Hope we have should we have to this point failed in heeding God’s word and a path back into His arms…….
In order to share with you the Hope which is found within the Word of God, it would be useful to look at the lives of Paul and John, who wrote most of the scriptures written above.

Paul

Question: Did Paul live the very standard that he wrote above? Or was he a Hypocrite? Or is there a truth which can be gleaned from the above passages when comparing this to other scriptures which Paul wrote? Let’s see below:

Philippians 3 [SUP]9 [/SUP]and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; [SUP]10 [/SUP]that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, [SUP]11 [/SUP]if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. [SUP]12 [/SUP]Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. [SUP]13 [/SUP]Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, [SUP]14 [/SUP]I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. [SUP]16 [/SUP]Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule,[SUP][b][/SUP] let us be of the same mind.[SUP]17 [/SUP]Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. [SUP]18 [/SUP]For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: [SUP]19 [/SUP]whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. [SUP]20 [/SUP]For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, [SUP]21 [/SUP]who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

  • Now from the above passages we see a clear link between Romans 6 (the Holy Standard) and Philippians 3 (Paul’s walk with the Lord)
  • Paul references the conformity of His death with Christ (Phil 3v10 and Romans 6 v5,6,8) as well as the resurrection life (Phil 3v10,11 and Romans 6 v5,8)
  • Paul lives this by FAITH, yet he says he has not yet already attained (v12) or perfected (v12) or apprehended (v13)
  • YET ---- Paul doesn’t let this hold him back. He doesn’t bring down God’s standard AT ALL. What does he do? He presses on (v12); forgets what’s behind (v13) reaching forward to what’s ahead (v13); presses towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (v14). His direction is always UP….UP….UP.
  • He then goes on to say (v16) “Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule”. You see? The victories which the Israelites achieved in the Promised land are the victories which You (Christian) are to have in the Kingdom walk. Have you overcome your sins? Don’t be like Lot’s wife and look back. To the degree that you have attained – let this be your new base. Onward and upward.
  • Yet he goes further and warns of those in the church (v18-v19) who live by the flesh. They set their minds on earthly things (v19). This is corroborated by Romans 8v5. For these people (in the Church) who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (Gal 5v19-21)
  • To he/she who reads this – do you think you can, as a Christian, continue to live in sin? Or should you like Paul accept the Holy Standard (Romans 6) and press on and up, forgetting what is behind, and laying hold of Christ. This is plain for you to see.
  • Herein lies the Hope. For You. For Me. For all who love the Lord.

John

1 John 1 v[SUP]5 [/SUP]This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

  • He is the essence of Holiness

[SUP]6 [/SUP]If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

  • How can we say we are “In Christ” and yet walk in sin?

[SUP]7 [/SUP]But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

  • Do you see this? The blood of Jesus cleanses us when we walk in the light (and not in sin).
  • The corollary is this, to those here who think OSAS – if you walk in darkness, then the blood of Jesus doesn’t cleanse you from this.
  • It is clear that the blood of Jesus is only available to a repentant heart. And a repentant heart doesn’t walk in sin.
  • You cannot retain your sins and retain Christ. You will have to give one of them up.

[SUP]8 [/SUP]If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

  • Whether your interpretation of this scripture (for which there has been much debate on the forums) is to whether this applies to historical or current sins matters not in the greater scheme of things. It applies to both, in that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and this we cannot deny. It is equally applicable should a believer fall into sin and is necessary to repent of such sin. We are to judge ourselves lest we be judged. The first step is total honesty with yourself. For nothing is hidden from God.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  • “IF” we confess our sins, He is faithful to Forgive. You claim forgiveness from God do you? Have you confessed your sins to Him? Do you think, like many OSAS believers, that confession is not necessary because repentance is only a one time “event”? Then your sins are retained. Because you choose not to confess. Because you choose not to repent.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

  • All have sinned.
  • It doesn’t bring down God’s Holy Standard (Romans 6). Neither does it preclude the possibility of attainment.
  • God has made a way to deal with past sin. If you wish to appropriate this, then it needs to be according to His way, not yours.

2v1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin.

  • John is clear in this. We are not to sin. John is not a confused Apostle. He is not contradicting himself in the same letter in 1 John 3v6 with 1 John 1v10.
  • John is showing the way that is available for true repentance.

And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. [SUP]2 [/SUP]And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

  • Here is the Hope available to us. Jesus Christ. He is our Advocate. He redeemed us. Purchased us by His shed blood on the cross. He loves us. He doesn’t want anyone to go to hell. He makes intercession for the Saints. Thanks be to God. There, in Him, we have our true Hope.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. [SUP]4 [/SUP]He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [SUP]5 [/SUP]But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. [SUP]6 [/SUP]He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

  • We have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ. So how do we respond?
  • Do we disobey because we have an Advocate?
  • Do we disobey because Jesus forgives?
  • Or do we repent of our sins?
  • Your conscience, lest it be seared, should witness a true response to these questions.

So in summary, the great Apostles of the Lord NEVER condoned Sin. They judged it for what it was. They showed the Holy Standard to which the Church is accountable. They showed the “Way of Righteousness” through Jesus Christ, identification with His death and resurrection by faith, and the Hope by which we are to live, to press on to the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. They showed the way for any of our shortcomings through the advocate we have in Jesus Christ. Not that this was to be a lifestyle of sin, but rather that it provides us a hope that should we fall, we have a path back to the Father through Christ. None of this will be possible without maintaining a repentant heart and confession of sin.

The corollary is the pathway to hell. This is the rejection of Christ’s way, and instead imputing your own way, namely:

  • No need for repentance
  • No need for confession
  • Holiness being optional
  • The Red Letter Words of Christ being “optional”, or a derivation of this that these words were “Old Testament”, or that these were only for the “Jews”.
  • Denial of sin (there are many derivations of this, one of these being a positional salvation – which means that sin doesn’t exist even though you transgress – because you have been made holy once and for all time, without any further accountability on your part)
  • Rejection of obedience

You need to get off this road, if this is what you believe. Before it’s too late.

The error of once saved you cannot ever become lost, is in the idea that no human who was ever really saved would ever for any reason decide to turn from God. God does not force us to stay, there are some folks who decide to turn away from God, people who were really saved. I know of one lady who was saved and worked for the Lord for years and then she fell in love with a Muslim man and in time he persuaded her to become a Muslim. There was a man who gave a good testimony of how he was saved and later he became a great preacher and preached for years. In time he went to school and studied evolution and became convinced that evolution was true and so he decided that the bible was not true and he turned from God and never came back for the rest of his life. To sum this up...GOD WILL NOT KEEP YOU BY FORCE, and there are going to be some folks who will turn away from God. The bible speaks of a great falling away from the faith, how can you fall away from something you were never a part of? That would be like getting a divorce when you were never married.

There is no such thing as sinless perfection in the flesh. I and many others have posted about it. We fight against that false belief when it shows up as it is a faith-destroying doctrine.

No one is condoning sin - believers in the true gospel of the grace of God in Christ actually expose all sinning for what it truly is - from malice to the slandering of others in the body of Christ - to living the homosexual lifestyle - to the unbelief in what Christ has done by His work on the cross and resurrection.

We will have the flesh with the law of sin in it until we die or the Lord comes and gives us an immortal body without the law of sin in it. Romans 7:17-23

We have this treasure ( Christ in us in our inner man of the heart - the new creation in Christ ) in an earthen vessel and the excellency of the power my be seen to be of God and not ourselves.

2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

What causes this false belief along with all the other works-based / works-righteousness beliefs which are operating under the same delusions is:

- not understanding the new creation in Christ which has been created in righteousness and holiness.

- not understanding the believers "union" with Christ by the Holy Spirit of whom Jesus said would be in us forever.

- not understanding the circumcision of the body of flesh from the inner man in Christ
. - also called the circumcision of Christ

- all of these not understandings leads to a false understanding of 1 John 3:9 and 1 John 5:18 and then we create a works-righteousness doctrine where we need to save ourselves and thus we are denying the very grace of God that is in Christ's work from operating in our lives like it was meant to.

We have fallen from grace and Christ has been cut off ( which means to be of no effect, or idle as the Greek says - not that we are kicked out of being one spirit with Christ )

Here's a really easy explanation JohnnyB.
Take it or leave it. Study up on it.

Justification is totaly the work of God. We can do nothing to save ourselves.

Sanctification is a CO-OERATIVE work between us and God.

We must do OUR PART.

IF GOD DID OUR PART, He'd be responsible for EVERYTHING...

Think about it. If you say that GOD DOES IT ALL, then He does it all for EVERYTHING.

This is theology. The study of God. This you learn from theology --- it's difficult to get this ONLY from the bible.

If you're going to say that God does it all,
Remember the next time you sin, that it was God who let you down...

King Asa's falling away:

2 Chronicles 14

[SUP]2 [/SUP]Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God, [SUP]3 [/SUP]for he removed the altars of the foreign gods and the high places, and broke down the sacred pillars and cut down the wooden images. [SUP]4 [/SUP]He commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to observe the law and the commandment. [SUP]5 [/SUP]He also removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah, and the kingdom was quiet under him. [SUP]6 [/SUP]And he built fortified cities in Judah, for the land had rest.

[SUP]11 [/SUP]And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!” [SUP]12 [/SUP]So the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.

2 Chronicles 15
15 Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded. <a prophet of God> [SUP]2 [/SUP]And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law; [SUP]4 [/SUP]but when in their trouble they turned to the Lord God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And in those times there was no peace to the one who went out, nor to the one who came in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands. [SUP]6 [/SUP]So nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every adversity. [SUP]7 [/SUP]But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

[SUP]8 [/SUP]And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded[SUP][a][/SUP] the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of the Lord that was before the vestibule of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 16
16 In the thirty-sixth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah and built Ramah, that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Then Asa brought silver and gold from the treasuries of the house of the Lord and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben-Hadad king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying, [SUP]3 [/SUP]Let there be a treaty between you and me, as there was between my father and your father. See, I have sent you silver and gold; come, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he will withdraw from me.”

[SUP]4 [/SUP]So Ben-Hadad heeded King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel. They attacked Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali. [SUP]5 [/SUP]Now it happened, when Baasha heard it, that he stopped building Ramah and ceased his work. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Then King Asa took all Judah, and they carried away the stones and timber of Ramah, which Baasha had used for building; and with them he built Geba and Mizpah.

[SUP]
7 [/SUP]And at that time Hanani the seer <a prophet of God> came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him: “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the Lord your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Were the Ethiopians and the Lubim not a huge army with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the Lord, He delivered them into your hand. [SUP]9 [/SUP]For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.” [SUP]10 [/SUP]Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in prison, for he was enraged at him because of this. And Asa oppressed some of the people at that time.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Note that the acts of Asa, first and last, are indeed written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. [SUP]12 [/SUP]And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his malady was severe; yet in his disease he did not seek the Lord, but the physicians.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]So Asa rested with his fathers; he died in the forty-first year of his reign.

An example of falling away from the faith.

The New Covenant in Christ is built upon better promises. No one was created in righteousness and holiness before Christ died on the cross and rose in the resurrection to create a new creation.

Taking Old Testament truths that were based on the performance of people involved and to try to say it is the same thing for those in Christ - is foolishness and this just creates a works-based/ works-righteousness false doctrines that actually deny the work of Christ.

Another favorite foolish thing is to say that the Holy Spirit that was on Saul to be anointed as king - and that He left Saul is equivalent to the Holy Spirit leaving believers - this is complete religious nonsense based on a false denomination belief from their church teachings and traditions.

These false doctrines actually nullify the grace of God that is in Christ from operating in our lives like it was meant to do.

Wow. Great post!
Great work!

How does anyone deny what you've posted above.

I have to leave, not enough time for this.
Keep preaching!

Which Church, Grace?

Which Church teaches that the Holy Spirit CAN LIVE in communion with sin?

If a person decides to leave God and return to a life of sin,
can the Holy Spirit share the temple with that person?
Can the Holy Spirit share the same space with satan?

Here's a really easy explanation JohnnyB.

Hey Från believe this or not, theology is the study of God and it can only come from the Bible or it's not theology, it's a belief system. Can you show me where I said God does it all and we do nothing?

I know what you are trying to say but it's a
misrepresentation of a Biblical Theology, no theological system that I know of says that man has no responsibility in their salvation, I do know of people that misrepresent a theological system to say that it does, when it doesn't.

I'm still wait for someone to show me where it says that beaches cut themselves off the vine or that brother wander.

And we have the law of the Spirit in Christ Jesus which overrules the law of sin. If indeed you have the Spirit of God, then you indeed put to death the misdeeds of the body (not just in imagination, but in reality). If you serve the flesh YOU WILL DIE.

We have this treasure ( Christ in us in our inner man of the heart - the new creation in Christ ) in an earthen vessel and the excellency of the power my be seen to be of God and not ourselves.

You deny His power. I say you can overcome sin. You say you cannot. I say you can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Therefore, can you overcome sin?

2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

The excellency of his power is not merely granting us forgiveness, it means giving the power over sin in victory. He doesn't forgive the rebel just to leave them in rebellion. Either the rebel forsakes the world and embraces Christ, or else he is not in Christ. He will fall away.

What causes this false belief <would you perhaps like to delete Romans 6 from the bible altogether? Maybe the book of 1 John as well? You are one of a few here who deny the plain words of the Lord> along with all the other works-based / works-righteousness beliefs which are operating under the same delusions is:

- not understanding the new creation in Christ which has been created in righteousness and holiness. <the new creation has been created in righteousness and holiness. Yet you deny that it is a NEW CREATION. The OLD had PASSED AWAY. If I were to take your theology at face value, there is very little to distinguish between the New and Old creation. For you are an accommodater of sin. You re-enthrone sin. It remains your master. This is not victory. This is not deliverance.>

- not understanding the believers "union" with Christ by the Holy Spirit of whom Jesus said would be in us forever. <If you don't forsake Him. Here's a link to understanding the new covenant: http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/152420-understanding-new-covenant.html >

- not understanding the circumcision of the body of flesh from the inner man in Christ
. - also called the circumcision of Christ
<this is the biggest irony of the lot. Circumcision means separation of flesh. Yet you openly accommodate the flesh in your theology>

- all of these not understandings leads to a false understanding of 1 John 3:9 and 1 John 5:18 and then we create a works-righteousness doctrine where we need to save ourselves and thus we are denying the very grace of God that is in Christ's work from operating in our lives like it was meant to.
<we are not denying that Grace saves. It does. It's the only thing that saves. But its through faith. And Grace saves by CHANGING US. If you are continuing to walk as the world, this faith is of no value, and thus you will not be saved>

We have fallen from grace and Christ has been cut off ( which means to be of no effect, or idle as the Greek says - not that we are kicked out of being one spirit with Christ ) <do you actually read what you type here? Do you believe that fallen from Grace still includes salvation?>
As above in red.

It sounds more like living with someone pretending you were married when you were not.

Johnny,

Chris has his beliefs right. He can speak to you clearly about different ideas.

Some things are difficult to get only from the bible.
Like, for instance, the Trinity. This doctrine had to be made up by the early Church theologians since it's not readilly visible just from scripture. This does not mean that it is not scriptural.

The doctrine of Justification and Sanctification is the same. Paul used the terms interchangeably because their meaning was not very clear at the time the letters were written. It was clarified later on after Jesus' resurrection.

Baptism is the same. Is baptism necessary for salvation or not?
Did Jesus come to set up a Church or to set up a way of living our lives?

See. There's a lot that can be understood only from theology and not ONLY from the bible.
This is what I meant.

I didn't say YOU said God does it all. I was only explaining sanctification in a very simple way. Which is the best way. Jesus spoke simply. He didn't make things complicated or convoluted.

About the braches being cut off.

Branches DO NOT cut themselves off.
GOD cuts them off because they do not produce fruit. Which means WORKS.
All Jesus did was talk about how we have to behave and the things we have to do.
He DID NOT say, "just believe in me and all will be ok".

Mathew 7:19
"every good tree that does not bear good fruit IS CUT DOWN and thrown into the fire"

It is cut down --- it does not cut itself down.

Mathew 21:19

Jesus came upon a fig tree on His way into Jerusalem from Bethany during the last week of His life. Most probably on that Tuesday. He cursed the tree because it had no fruit.

Jesus EXPECTS fruit.
WE are t produce good fruit.

I believe we pretty much agree.
