What scripture was there when Abraham believed? Abraham lived several generations before Moses, and was Moses' great, great, great something or other grandfather. And Moses is credited with penning the first 5 books of scripture.
Abraham believed God when He told him that he would have a child by Sarah.
Hmmmmm?????
What faith are we teaching the children of God?
Faith that is not faith at all. Faith that does not lead to righteousness.
but you have your faith, and I hope that it serves you in the end.
you're not Abraham.
God doesn't need to visit you to foreshadow and progessively reveal the coming Messiah.
God doesn't need to wait until YOU are nearly a 100 years old to perform a SUPERNATURAL conception that foreshadows the conception and Incarnation of Emmanuel.
He already came.
Pentecost already happened.
the Foundation is already laid.
mission accomplished.

"What faith are we teaching the children of God? "
i wonder why you are past knowing the answer to this.
"Faith that is not faith at all. Faith that does not lead to righteousness." ?????
do you know much of Abram's story? just how righteous was he?
do you know what imputed righteousness is and why this is recorded in Abraham's story?
what's the significance of Abraham's life? HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS? his FAITH? his faith in WHAT?
what exactly did he believe God ABOUT that God reckoned as righteousness?
did you know faith has AN OBJECT?
i bet you can't understand this chapter (if you could, you would NEVER misrepresent Christ and the scriptures as you do):
Galatians 3
By Faith, or by Works of the Law?
1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.
2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?
3Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?
4 Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?
5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith—
6 just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”?
7 Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham.
8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”
9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
The Righteous Shall Live by Faith
10 For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.”
11 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.”
12 But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.”
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—
14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles,
so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
The Law and the Promise
15 To give a human example, brothers: even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified.
16 Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ.
17 This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void.
18 For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise;
but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.
19 Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions,
until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary.
20 Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one.
21 Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.
22 But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin,
so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23 Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed.
24 So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.
25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian,
26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.
27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
~
you don't believe the testimony of the scriptures: "
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ." because you do not know how we are baptised into Christ.
the object of YOUR 'FAITH" is YOUR ability to HEAR a voice.
the object of your faith is YOU.
your right standing before God is based upon your ABILITY to hear voices. the voices you listen to and dictate for CONTRADICT what is written, what God has revealed about His Character in Jesus Christ.
THIS is NOT the faith of Abraham.
this "faith" you talk about is no faith at all......it's a desperate attempt to obtain experiential relief, PROOF of being accepted in the Beloved.
what He did and said, His PROMISES are NOT ENOUGH. the witnesses in scripture are not enough. you need PROOF....
for yourself.
miracles, signs, voices. and above all, you need to downgrade the scriptures because even though the spirit you are listening to has presented such a clever counterfeit you: YOUR PROFESSIONS DO NOT ALIGN WITH SCRIPTURE.
~
and this is the devil's achilles heel: diligent faithfulness to the scriptures, the highest authority to which we appeal in matters pertaining to God's revealed Will and Person, and of claims made by men. (and the Holy Spirit leading and affirming all truth in this way, according to His Commission)
this "faith" is the result of fear, of doubting the Spirit's ongoing sanctification YEARS AGO - "we" still sinned as a Christian, were convicted by the Spirit of our duplicity...but rather than being humbled and repenting and remaining where God has stationed us....rather than TRUSTING GOD, we go off into EMERGENT LAND where experiential PROOF of the forgiveness of sins is required.
a quick fix, A WAY OUT of that PAIN and humiliation during chastisement and pruning: even if it has to be a supernatural encounter and attending signs and wonders....but the new place, the liberal emergent place must not be judgmental because we are now RUNNING FROM THE LAW and the True Holy Spirit as He convicts us and transforms us. we want INSTANT SANCTIFICATION.
WE DO not TRUST THE LORD ON THIS, NOR BELIEVE THAT HE WILL FINISH WHAT HE STARTED. we do not believe that The Godhead has performed everything required to save our souls, and that this is received by GRACE through faith. we do not know the difference between justification and sanctification.
experiential "faith" ALWAYS leads to the same place. there is ALWAYS some spirit waiting to provide affirmations for this kind of faith. but there's a catch; EVERY SINGLE TIME THERE IS CATCH....the road is littered with the wreckage (read testimonies of people who have come out of the Third Wave nightmare).
we will be told we are SPECIAL and now chosen for SPECIAL revelations from The Lord. its the IDENTICAL PLAYBOOK and it seems to work everytime for the immature. over time, we will continue to receive experiential stroking and proof that
we have arrived....over time, we will be convinced that the scriptures are NOT the final authority for the regenerated Christian on earth, experiences are.
we come to believe anyone who goes to church like we did is a duplicious sinner like we were (and many are), but that this means they ARE NOT SAVED. we are projecting the deceitfulness of our own hearts onto others, and eventually we just say
"God TOLD ME..."
we're being told that the resistence we encounter as we relate our mystical experiences is
proof that we are prophets: isn't that how they were treated when they proclaimed "Thus Saith The Lord?" so, we seek out "others" like us.
and lo and behold if they aren't all PROPHETS ALSO. and they have something in common with us - they HATE THE TRADITIONAL CHURCH.
eventually comes
the big test: WILL THIS PERSON DARE TO PROCLAIM WORDS CLAIMING THEY CAME FROM THE ALMIGHTY HIMSELF?
we are now persuaded to "go to" what we have been told is the dead, blind and filthy Church and make proclamations, utter prophecies, make claims about Christ, etc. that are being revealed to us.
these will ALWAYS be negative prophecies, though presented with great humility and soft words....the formulas and substance are stolen and reworked from the words and deeds of israel's ancient prophets and applied to Christ's Church.
eventually a completely impossible soteriology has been embedded, and now there is a DRIVING need, a COMPULSION, an URGENCY to make prophecies, cause divisions and strife CONTRARY TO WHAT WAS REVEALED IN THE SCRIPTURES. CONTRARY TO THE FAITH ALREADY DELIVERED ONCE FOR ALL.
and here we have nothing more than a disgruntled and immature believer who has willingly become a mouthpiece for lying spirits. there's always a price for the GLORIOUS EXPERIENCES of mysticism.
Romans 16:17
I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
one tell-tale sign of this sort of deception is the MEMORY...carelessness and recklessness in handling the word, and daring to speak for God becomes so commonplace, the memory and discernment is DULLED and a trail of false teachings means nothing since the person is no longer using the Word as a LAMP for his feet. he does not see where he is going, nor where he came from.
