See, I don't want to derail (too much) of seouls, (or anyones) threads.
But you see, I have kids who are growing up in this current generation that is facing the current decline in relationship.
I KNOW first hand that these girls that people think don't exist are out there, but they are gems well hidden away.
I KNOW firsthand (I have teen boys)that these young men are feed all this
about how evil women are... heck we women could say the same about men today, because there is some truth to that, but not ALL men fall into that category. (But heck, for a woman to say men are evil would mean we're being eeeevvvviiiillllllll!!!!)
And because I have teen boys and a daughter, I am in this fight of training them up in the ways they should go, and that includes teaching them to recognizing that what they are seeing all over the place, always in their faces isn't what they should be pursuing. Yes, what they see, it's evil! But it's evil because it diminishes God's design for the sexes, it diminishes God's design for marriage.
RUN! Run from it! But don't dismiss ALL guys/gals as being evil based solely on what is being portrayed in the world BY the world.
Then, there is the birth rate crisis! STOP encouraging the killing of the babies!!!
Now, like I said I don't want to derail from the OP topic of the this particular thread (or anyone's really).
So, if someone wants to start a thread on this topic, then I'll gladly put my 2 cents in there (eventually).
There are different kinds of derails.
This is the kind I welcome tenfold, and I hope you and others who feel this way will continue to speak out.
I am so glad you added your input, @Godsgirl1983. One of the reasons I've stayed silent on this for so long is because when single women try to speak out on this topic, we often get told that the reason we're putting up a fight is because we're wicked, rebellious Jezebel feminists -- and no wonder we don't have husbands -- because we won't submit.
This is another Catch 22 I find in the church -- be a strong woman of God -- just always be agreeable with any opinions put forth by the men.
You don't know how much it means to me to see a MARRIED woman voicing some of the same concerns I've been having. And I know your life is blessed but VERY busy, so thank you so much for taking the time to come in and post your thoughts.
For the whole time he has been here, John has advocated that singles need to be married, because he sees being married as the highest spiritual status one can be (vs. being single,) and that those of us who are single are this way because there is something fundamentally flawed about us.
The last time he and I bumped heads, I knew I was going to write a thread in response, but I needed time to sort out my ideas. I asked God, if everything he was saying was true, to just keep me from saying anything -- but this new thread idea was stoking in my heart like a bonfire.
The next thread I put up was a frivolous, throwaway thread asking people what they preferred regarding tacos.
John was one of the first people who showed up, coming in and saying, "Is that the best you've got?!" -- with several laughing emojis, so I'm very used to the kinds of answers he gives me. It's been going on for year. And, as I always try to do, I just kept posting.
The thing about me is that when I have a bigger idea, it can take me a while for it to churn. There was one thread I can remembe kicking around for about 8 months. And that's why I write fun, throwaway topics in between -- it helps clear my mental palate.
My next thread was titled something like, "Why I'm Not So Worried About Finding A Husband Anymore." It went on to talk about how I felt God was calling me to support the work of a children's organization that is actively fighting against child trafficking. And I explained that when God puts something like that on your heart, fretting about how to flirt and find a husband suddenly slips your mind.
I put hours of prayer, blood, sweat, and tears into that thread. And I'm not saying that God was telling me I was right about everything. I'm just saying, I fully believe He specifically put that on my heart as an answer. It was one of those feelings of, "I HAVE to write this," and could not stop pacing until I did.
I was waiting for John to show up in that thread. I checked it everyday, but to my knowledge, he never posted. I was rather disappointed. I was sure he would have some kind of refute or other wisdom to offer.
And it resulted in one of the most passionately answered threads I have ever posted here, even after 17 years and posting 1,500+ individual threads. It really seemed to resonate with people and there were several beautifully written responses of causes other singles believed God was calling them to rather than just marriage.
Something wonderful about this new system is that it now lists all the threads we've written by date. I might have missed it, but in the old system, I could only find a fraction of my threads and they were listed by the last date they were posted in, so certain ones were very hard to find.
One thing I believe God has taught me is that when I can, I need to let people come to me in my own threads when they have something I want to openly dispute. This creates a public record, and it's now much easier for me to find those threads in the new system. If I need receipts to prove something that was said, both by me and the other person, I now have a much better chance of finding them. Even if they delete their account and come back under another name, if I can remember which one, I can still find their old posts that they left in my old threads (if they haven't been deleted by a mod.)
In past threads, John told me to stop "psychoanalyzing" him because, as he said, "You're terrible at it."
I don't try to psychoanalyze people. Lol! I'm not nearly smart enough for that, and I'll leave it to the experts. But I DO pay attention to repeated patterns that people produce, along with the character they display in their answers.
I do wish John would just go ahead and write threads about these topics he seems to be so passionate about. And I would be THRILLED if a large number of other married people would answer him, pro or con, because I've often wondered, "Is THIS what married people TRULY think about us singles?! Do they all think we're as stupid and worthless as he always seems to imply?!"
In fact, if I didn't think his threads were getting enough attention, I would happily start putting up my own threads in the Family Forum with titles like, "JOHN, DUH BAPTIST (his description from his own post,) HAS A THREAD ABOUT WHY SINGLES ARE FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED AND HOW YOUNG MEN CAN AVOID THE 1001 PITFALLS OF WOMEN, WHO ARE ALL EVIL -- AND HE NEEDS YOUR INPUT!! PLEASE REPLY TO HIM NOW!!!"
And I want that thread put right here in Singles as The Crown Jewel among all the threads. I wouldn't post any other threads in Singles until it had its full run, and the undivided attention it deserved.
I would want to see his threads garner as much traffic as possible, even if I never posted in them, and would do everything in my power to bring in all the eyeballs and answers they deserved.
Come to think of it, John and I could have a pretty good thing going here... If nothing else, it would be interesting.
I'm just waiting for him to start that thread.
I'm looking for a shade tree where I can drink my coffee and look like I'm smoking a pipe.

And for the record, I don't think Seoulsearch is evil. She was very let down by her ex, as a lot of women have been. Why risk having your heart broken again? I think it's better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all.
I can't do anything about the population of Canada's aborted babies either. But it doesn't mean you have to be nasty about it.

Okay, I haven't had a chance to read through this whole thread like I want to, BUT aside from Keurig, I keep seeing CHEESE brought up.
Whose got the cheese?
Is it presliced or is it a large block?
Do ya'll need something to cut the cheese with?
I've used elbow noodles too in my goulash.The Walking Dead was a hit tv series from several years ago about a zombie apocalypse. You could use a plane to fly someplace away from the zombies, like Alaska.
I prefer a bowl too, but I don't use chopsticks. I actually don't use spaghetti noodles. I use elbow noodles, but call it spaghetti.

At $2.49 and $2.99 a block, 50 bucks is actually quite a lot of cheese.
I also found some monterey jack with pepperoni and marinara. Not pepperoni bits embedded in the cheese, and not pepperoni spices, but real pepperoni pureed and blended into the cheese.
Sounds like good food on the menu for sure. I'm down with the homemade bread and freshly picked berries. I could put the berries in the Rice Crispies. Tasty grilled treats off the grill works for me too.

Other OBVIOUS Reason's I'm a Pick-Me:
1. I have an extensive pen collection!
Do you need a green pen? But not just ANY green pen -- do you need a green pen in a very SPECIFIC shade of green? I've got you covered!
2. My boxed mac'n'cheese expertise knows no bounds! (Or at least, it doesn't know the bounds of my appetite.)
Sure, I've had homemade and made it myself, but for whatever reason, I will forever hold a soft spot for powder cheese!!
I used to love Kraft (the store brands always tasted off to me,) but when they changed it to "No Artificial Colors, No Artificial Flavors" -- Bah Humbug!! Bring back the artificial!
But now, my current favorite is approved bunnies -- how could you go wrong with that?
3. If you aren't already swooning from all those pens and all that boxed mac'n'cheese, I have a knack for picking out only THE BEST of the best when it comes to stuffed critters!!
(A. They MUST be cute. B. They MUST be soft. C. They MUST be reasonably priced -- preferably on sale.)
So if you have a special little one in your life (or a grown adult who uses said little ones as a cover to add to their own collection,) I can help you pick out the perfect plush pal!!

Not a big cheese eater but love bacon and chocolate. Grilled cheese sammies are good though. I use a little shredded cheddar on my omelettes. Like cheeseburgers too. OK, cheese is ok if used correctly.
