I have a (stuffed) owl that always says, humans don't realize that feathers are always warmest -- when they're still ON the bird.

Naturally, she advocates for cuddling with birds -- rather than plucking them. 😁

(See what kinds of "wisdom" my friends and family have to endure?) 😎
Yep

lol

@tourist , i'm so sorry for your loss! i had no idea :( Holy Spirit, please comfort tourist and all who are grieving.

today, little girl and i went to the library. we were there yesterday, too. it's one of our favorite places to visit and it's free! lol today we had the children's playroom reserved for an hour. it's a room full of toys. i invited 2 other moms to join us, but neither could make it today, so it was just little girl and me. after, we went to sonic to pick up lunch and ate at home. little girl is supposed to be taking a nap, but according to the monitor, she's wide awake :cautious::ROFL:.

tomorrow, we'll be 1 month away from little girl turning 4 years old!
Thank you for your condolences. I still have the framed caligraphy prayer you personally inscribed. It is next to my bible. The little ones grow up fast, don't they? :)

Today I went to karaoke and after that I went to an art exhibition. I saw some really talented artists work.
Maybe one day I will get back into it.

I still have a paint-by-numbers to do.

I am going to make Mac and Cheese for dinner, I have two packets left. I am going to add tinned pinneapple and frozen peas to it. I was supposed to go grocery shopping but only managed to get a litre of milk for my baby (boomer) from the dairy and I'm tired.

I also finished reading a book, started another one, and decided I would play Hello Kitty Island Adventure again. This time Mymelody wants me to build my own house, and her best friend MySweetPiano is coming over to stay.

Saw a beautiful rainbow this morning! 🌈
Well, a few of them actually.
I took my daughter to school and I noticed the left half as I pulling out of my parking spot at the gas station.
Then I noticed the top full and arching over to the right side, and as I was pulling away (having to keep eyes on the traffic around me) I noticed the rest of it on the right.
A FULL RAINBOW! 😃 I got so excited my daughter had to keep telling me to drive safe and keep my eyes on the road.
*Sigh* okay, guess I had to be a safe driver.
I got her to school safely 😇
And as I puled away, I noticed the sky in that area had turned so dark, so, so, so, so, so very dark.
As I pulled back onto the street I saw more rainbow. It had turned into a double and was so pretty.
When I pulled onto the street and the buildings were no longer blocking my view, I began driving towards the dark sky when suddenly I saw the brightest colors pop out from behind the clouds.
Off on the left was a rainbow against the lighter sky that revealed its full arch and stretched off to the right into the dark sky where the colors were so bright and vibrant.
It just left me in awe and I could hear my daughters voice echoing in my mind to be a safe driver because I just wanted to stare at it while driving along.
As I turned this way and that along the road, and the sky shifted it's clouds, the vibrant rainbow went out of view.
I came to a traffic light and had to stop.
As I was looking off to my left I noticed another fully arched rainbow 🌈 . Well, at least this time I was able to grab my phone and pull up the camera to grab a quick pic. Not too bad for a little flip phone camera, or for the fact that as I doing so the light turned green and I had to move it.

You always sound like you have a very interesting and colorful life!!

I'm envious of the art exhibition.

I live in the state of Washington, and unfortunately, I don't feel safe at all going to the bigger cultural places by myself (the homeless and drugs are a huge problem here.) This is something I miss about living in other states -- I felt a lot more peace about traveling alone -- but safety concerns are becoming a bigger issue everywhere.

How did the pineapple and pea mac'n'cheese turn out?

Definitely sounds like an interesting combo.

Oh my goodness, GG!!!

This is so beautiful!!!

Thank you so much for posting this, it made my day. It's so rare to see a full rainbow. I can probably only count on one hand the number of times I've seen one across the sky like this.

And it seems like a very fitting reminder (to me at least) that rainbows show up...

During, or after, a storm. 💖

Thank you again and I hope you and your daughter have a blessed day!

Is it just me, or is everyone finding themselves in situations where you have to pay a bill... just to pay your bills?

This week has been pretty rough-and-tumble, as we found out that the management where I live literally changed overnight.

One of the things I'm not liking already is that there is now a fee to pay your own rent. I like to have things set up on automatic payments so I don't have to worry about being late (or not catching someone in the office to get a receipt,) but the new system gives you no choice.

The old management let you pay electronically from your account with no fee.

This new company now charges $2.49 each month just to pay your dang bill. If you pay with a credit card, it's an additional 2% of your rent (which is standard, as this is to cover the fees the credit card companies charge them.) If you use a debit card, it's $9.99.

I know God provides, but it's hard to be optimistic with all this craziness is spiraling out of control.

I COULD pay with a paper check, but our rent is mixed in with other utilities, so the amount I owe in full every month varies each time -- it's never a set amount. I'd also only go to pay when someone is in the office so I could get a written receipt (they have a drop box, but I don't trust that -- I demand written proof of receipts for every important thing I pay.) It can be hard to catch someone because they're often out on taking prospective tenants on tours, or in meetings.

So, I have no choice but to be bamboozled and worked over by yet another clog in "The System."

ARGH.

But... Thank you Lord for providing for this month, even with the new fees. 🙏🏼

I wish I could have captured the bright, vibrant rainbow against the dark sky.
It reminded me too that rainbows show up during or after storms.
At that moment, it really reminded me that even in the darkest moments God's promises are still holding true today.

I really needed this reminder today!!!

I was feeling horrible yesterday, not sure why, just going through the motions of everything I was doing. No energy or motivation whatsoever, just dragging my way through.

Your posts and comments have most definitely lifted my spirits, thank you!!!

And I'm sure it's done so for others reading, too. 🥰🙏🏼🌈

God is good! 💖

Cream cheese is the single best thing you can pair with pineapple.

Consequently pineapple cheesecake is awesome.

You can even make a tasty pineapple pizza if you swap in cream cheese for regular pizza cheeses.

Is cream cheese the same as ricotta?

I have a tub of that sitting in my fridge I haven't used yet and the expiry date is soon.
