Actually the gifts of the spirit are found in 1 Corinthians 12:28
First are apostles
Second are prophets
third are teachers
Then those who do miracles
those who have the gift of healing
those who can help others
Those who have the gift of leadership
Those who speak in unknown languages

If women are not supposed to speak in tongues I don't believe God would have given me the gift, yet I have it
The scriptures say women are to remain silent.

There is no biblical record of any woman having the ability to speak in tongues.

Satan has the power to decieve many with signs and wonders.

What about the women at pentacost? I guess they don't count?
Acts 1:13-15, 2:4
Everyone was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues,
if only the men spoke don't you think the Bible would have made the distinction?

They also say

If a woman wants to enquire about something she should ask her husband at home

They must submit to their husbands in everything
They must dress moderately with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes

They should wear a hat in church
And call their husband master

A distinction was made if people would read on. It was the 12 apostles who spoke on tongues.

Not once does it say a woman spoke in tongues.

Your point? And what does this have to do with the OP?

Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak but must be in submission, as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.
#1 they are not allowed to speak . . .as the law says. Are we under such a law?
#2 don't disrupt the church service with your questions but ask your husband when you get home.

There is no biblical record of any woman having the ability to speak in tongues.
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. . . .v4 speaking of gifts.
v7 the manifestations of the gift. . . .Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

I don't see to each one except women? Who is the "each one"? Each born again believer born again by God's Spirit and has been given the gift of holy spirit. v11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. . .For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body--whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free -- and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. But in fact God has placed the parts of the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. . .As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 1 Corinthians 12

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave or free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28

Satan has the power to decieve many with signs and wonders.
I agree that some of the manifestations of the Spirit have been mishandled and some have through these distortions, given the manifestation of the Spirit a reputation of being senseless, and mindless, making a mockery of the gift of holy spirit and the manifestations of that gift.

Where in scripture does it say women spoke in tongues to crowds of men and women.

Where in scripture does it show where women preached to a crowd at all?

We are all equal spiritually but that doesn't mean men and women have the same roles.

Where in scripture does it say women spoke in tongues to crowds of men and women.
Below you see a group described as being men and women. Then the Holy Spirit falls on ALL and EACH of them speaks in tongues.

Acts 1
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey. [SUP]13 [/SUP]And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. [SUP]14 [/SUP]These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,[SUP][b][/SUP] with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

Then that group is shown in Acts 2...
Acts 2
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. [SUP]3 [/SUP]They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. [SUP]4 [/SUP]All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[SUP][a][/SUP] as the Spirit enabled them.

Acts 2

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. [SUP]6 [/SUP]When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. [SUP]7 [/SUP]Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? [SUP]8 [/SUP]Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?[SUP]9 [/SUP]Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,[SUP][b][/SUP] [SUP]10 [/SUP]Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome [SUP]11 [/SUP](both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” [SUP]12 [/SUP]Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”

Where in scripture does it say women spoke in tongues to crowds of men and women.
Where in scripture does it say that anyone spoke in tongues to crowds of men and women? Those that were around the "whole house" where the disciples were filled and began to speak in tongues - heard them speak and each were from every nation under heaven and each heard their own language. I have never heard of anyone speaking in tongues to "crowds of men and women". In Acts 10, when the household of Cornelius received the gift of holy spirit, do you think women were included in that household? While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. . . For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.
Where in scripture does it show where women preached to a crowd at all?
Where does it say that a woman didn't ever preach to anyone? We have in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha. Now it doesn't say that she preached or taught but given she was called a disciple, I am sure she had the responsibility of a disciple which is to lead. Of course, either side of this is just an argument from silence.
We are all equal spiritually but that doesn't mean men and women have the same roles.
Since we are all the body of Christ and God doesn't distinguish between men or women - it seems that we can have the same roles and be as purposeful in the body of Christ as men. . . .

If men and women have equal roles then when I marry Alaric is getting pregnant. Not me!

Ok enough derailing. Sorry
