I'm a "Gap theoryist" (OEC), so I have NO IDEA who old the earth is, or how many creations have already taken place on it. WHat is pretty certain is that THIS Creation is about 6000 years old (give or take).
Interesting take.

What do you make of Exodus 20:11? Do you see it as referring to "this Creation" (as you call it) only?

The 6000 years has not yet been fulfilled or we would be in the millennial reign. This point of view is usually referred to as the 6000 year lease. This "earth lease" is the time man would be allowed to have dominion on the earth to protect it and to keep it. Genesis 1:26 Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion. In Gen1: 31 we read " and God saw everything that He had made and behold was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. This authority was given to the human race for a limited period of time. Adding to the above the concept that to the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day (2 Pet 3:8) the pattern would seem to imply that man has been given six one thousand year days of dominion on the earth after which God will take back control of the planet. Notice this does not necessarily imply that the earth is approximately this same age. Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. :2 And the earth was without form and void. There could be countless years between vs 1 and 2 during which the earth could have been taken from a place of beauty and perfection to, well, formless and void. In Gen 1:26 The Lord tells man to re-plenish the earth as though it had been filled at one time. This timeline would put Jesus coming on the 4th day or at about 4000 years. It is now 2023 making it approximately 6023. His return is imminent.

time, is only applied to objectives that have an eventual expiration point.

God, His Kingdom, have no expiration, so its by His Wisdom He created time.

to which, He applied that invention of time to Creation.

and somewhere in his time-work, one day is as 1,000 years.

in order to fulfill His Plan.

Since it refers to things directly associated with the "Earth", then I'd ASSUME that "the Adamic creation" which we live in would be the focus, and that any number of things may have taken place on the earth previously.

The Bible "hints" about things happening in the Spiritual kingdom BEFORE The "Adamic Creation" took place, but gives no detail. Since, in the Garden, satan was already an EVIL INFLUENCE, it would appear that his fall predated the Garden, and the words "Tohu", and "Bohu", ("Formless" and "Void") when appearing together always speak of desolation as the result of God's Judgement.

However, since God isn't inclined to present any details outside of the present creation, I'll ask about it later (If I even have to).

I don’t believe Adam kicked off the creation, but thats not in the here and now…

I see a very old earth millions of years old, or at least that’s what I’m getting from scripture.
I'm an OEC also. We have evidence of the existence of "prehistoric" activities, And since we humans essentially know NOTHING of the "Origins", all we have is "theories", which in the final analysis, are of little or no actual importance.

i believe the key to the passage in Genesis is much also like that of Jeremiah and they both follow the same "principle" You've explained:
the words "Tohu", and "Bohu", ("Formless" and "Void") when ">appearing together<" ">always speak of<" desolation as the result of God's Judgement.

We have a bit more than theories..
And surely it has importance, as the topic is mentioned in the Bible.

In the beginning God created the heavens and earth. No time given.
Most logical timelines begin with zero, and then progress onward to one, then two... (getting the rhythm yet?) This particular beginning we call "Zero Anno Mundi". We are then given detailed genealogies to the time of Christ.

Start at the beginning? What a novel concept!

We have no “0”…. In the begging… you must know when the beginning was to place a starting point. We were not given that information.

Have you considered that maybe time should have began when the Lord was crucified or Pentecost the same year the church started??

We were told it was the beginning. Everything else happened since then. Our post-Einstein concepts of time were not available to the ancient Israelites, so God chose concepts that were available: beginning, day one, the second day, evening, morning, so many years, etc.
